At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
My doctor sent me to a physical therapist for hip pain. PT diagnosed Piriformis Syndrome. Hip massage brought pain relief. The PT suggested that problem and back pain might be caused by leg length discrepancy. He says my left leg is about 3/8" shorter. Hip pain is left hip, back muscle tightness is on right side, my left shoe wears much more on the left heel. Are these findings consistent? Does the short leg cause more heel wear on shoes? I am trying a heel left on the left foot.
He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.

I Have read a lot of your advice and am hoping you can reassure me. PLease read my previous posts I know the human pappiloma Virus is non enveloped and is highly susceptable to SDS (found in soap) However, I also know that the strain that causes common warts can be easily spread by towels etc.
She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on.
Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery. How long can she expect this pain to stay?

I am on Amlodipine (generic Norvasc) 20mg/day for Prinzmetal's angina. My feet, ankles and lower calfs often swell, especially after I've been on my feet for any length of time, and I was warned about this by both my cardiologist and the pharmicist. I've gone up a whole shoe size and now have cankles. :) My cardiologist feels that a diuretic won't help (plus I have trouble keeping my potassium level up).
Verrucas are Warts that appear on the foot, that much I know. The scientific name for the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus which I think comes in about 60 varieties affecting the vaginal, oral and other areas and that it can take several months, since infection, for the verruca to develop, with no visible signs.
She might well have an infection and not know about it; because it can take anything up to 20 months to develop.
right leg tkr Feb 2010; now have 2 cm leg length discrepancy. right leg is now longer as there was a straightening of the bowing in the right leg. Gait is terrible, recovery is slow. M.D. suggests shoe lifts and tkr for left leg to fix problem. Is 2 cm discrepancy acceptable standard medical practice? And, what assurance is there that left leg tkr will "match" right leg length?
As you already know that you can opt for either podiatric physician (deals with foot and leg related problem exclusively) or you can get it surgically removed. It is advisable to wear shoes with a bit large size for toes to be able to move, shoes should have shock absorber soles. Special padding in shoes can be used to relieve pain. Orthotic devices in your shoes can also be helpful to relieve pain and prevent condition from worsening.

In Sept 07 I was diagnosed with a RIGHT foot stress fracture and put into a boot. After 4-5 weeks in the boot my LEFT hip hurt so bad I went to a super sturdy tennis shoe approved by podiatrist. My foot healed by 2/08 but my hip continues to hurt. Can't walk or exercise much. GP thought it was bursitis and gave me steroid shot, didn't help, went to physical therapy, ultrasound didn't help.

I have been suffering with debilitating foot pain for almost two years. First diagnose was Plantar Fasciitis and I was treated with injections and a walker boot and also PT. Six months later I was diagnosed with fractures in both heels and have been in two casts, crutches and another walking boot. I am still in pain! I just had an MRI that shows Marrow Edema in four bones of my foot. What does this mean? I do not see the Dr. again for two weeks!
We can surrender this to our Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, but WE have to do the Foot Work. Have you tried changing your playmates, playground?? There is SO much to staying clean. The detox is over soon, but it is the Work we have to do to stay that way. We have a disease and like any other one, we need support. Maybe check out some AA. I have not drank booze in over 12 or more yrs, but I find AA way more spiritual for me. I still go to NA too. I have also had many talks with my Pastors.
s the public toilet in an office; Normally, I wear shoes, but that day my foot injures--wound from my nail cuts my finger. The wound doesn't pass for a long time; just 1.30hr-2hr. So I walk and use the toilet with my foot in socks -- no shoes at all.
The problem is I see many drops of water on the floor; I'm worried it may be the drop of blood, or water contained blood (of the two people who are hiv positive because they use the same toilet as I use.
Anyone having Braxton hicks pain? What is the normal length Of time that they last? I've been timing them and they range from 1 minute to 5 minutes in length. I started having them a few weeks back. I don't always have them everyday. Today they really hurt! Please share your experiences with them.
