Avatar m tn HIV is very much an indoor virus, it cannot survive outside the human body, so touching somebody and afterwards my genitals, surfaces in environment carris zero risk of an infection is zero risk. Hiv needs to remain within a very specific environment to survive ( inside the body). The golden rule is never have unprotected vaginal or anal sex with anybody unless you are absolutely certain of their HIV status. Please remember this and you will never have any HIV worries in future.

Avatar f tn I found a place with an autoclave but do I need to worry about this last time? What are the facts? And do I really need to worry about HIV if it can't live out of its host? Please let me know so I can put my mind to ease. Thank you. This is a follow up question to the following that I already asked: I got a manicure on Sunday at a Vietnamese place. I forgot to bring my own tools so decided to let them use theirs.
Avatar m tn He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.
Avatar f tn hi....... i posted in the hiv prevention forum, and i am just having trouble accepting things. last week i lost my flip flop on a city street and landed on my barefoot on the pavement. it was grooved and bumpy pavement right on the curb of the street. AS I CAN RECALL, i didn't feel anything poke or stick me, but immediately after it happened i started to panic that i had gotten sticked by a syringe/needle.
148588 tn?1465778809 There are so many different studies and opinions on this issue, I don't think it will ever be resolved... We all know that study data can be skewed any way one wants to skew it, in order to come up with the preferred results. By the way, the video in the link I posted is exactly the same as the video in the original post.
Avatar n tn Are there still any evidence of efavirenz teratogenicity in human studies especially on the neuro tube defect
Avatar n tn Verrucas are Warts that appear on the foot, that much I know. The scientific name for the virus is the Human Papilloma Virus which I think comes in about 60 varieties affecting the vaginal, oral and other areas and that it can take several months, since infection, for the verruca to develop, with no visible signs. She might well have an infection and not know about it; because it can take anything up to 20 months to develop.
1301089 tn?1290666571 NIH research kicked off the revolution in human genome sequencing and continues to play a crucial role, but it has lots of help today from universities, international research foundations and even private companies jockeying to sell better gene-scanning machines. It cost about $3 billion and a decade of government research to come up with the first draft of a human genome in 2000.

Avatar m tn s the public toilet in an office; Normally, I wear shoes, but that day my foot injures--wound from my nail cuts my finger. The wound doesn't pass for a long time; just 1.30hr-2hr. So I walk and use the toilet with my foot in socks -- no shoes at all. The problem is I see many drops of water on the floor; I'm worried it may be the drop of blood, or water contained blood (of the two people who are hiv positive because they use the same toilet as I use.
Avatar m tn t know much about the Bible (nor do I care to) but if you are using religion as a guideline for human sexuality, then the info and facts you get will be nothing close to the truth.

Avatar m tn Where the talus meets the bones of the foot, it forms the subtalar joint, which is important for walking on uneven ground. The talus is an important connector between the foot and the leg and body, helping to transfer weight and pressure forces across the ankle joint. Refer http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00170 Your surgeon must have decided bearing these facts in mind. Hope this is useful.

Avatar n tn I had a horizontal mole on the bottom of my right foot, just below the middle toe. It was shaved off. I have recieved results that the mole is abnormal. My dr. did not describe what abnomal means. I am thinking the worst. Any thoughts? Plus I have to go have it cut out at a deeper level. Anyone know of a topical numbing cream I can use. The derm. plans to do this.
Avatar n tn HCV is spread primarily by exposure to human blood. It is a blood to blood disease. Approximately 80 percent of persons who share needles to inject drugs are infected with HCV. Persons who receive blood transfusions face some risk, although it is very low since testing of donated blood for HCV began in 1990. Hepatitis C has been transmitted between sex partners and among household members, but the degree of risk is believed to be low.
