That is, there is a fixed plantar flexion of the foot. A high arch is the opposite of a flat foot, and somewhat less common. The term pes cavus encompasses a broad spectrum of foot deformities.
7763229 tn?1396626895 I have orthotic inserts for my shoes because my arches have collapsed (you have three different arches in your foot, and one is located a bit below your toes). Without my orthotics, I get a pain in the top of my foot because the collapsed arch pinches a nerve cluster. Based on what you've said, that's what it sounds like to me.
Avatar f tn Fallen arches, maybe? I have foot pain a lot, too. It's horrible. I have to keep my shoes on for some support. I would never recommend any sort of pain killers. I would recommend a podiatrist if your gp doesn't have a sufficient answer. You need the cause, not a band aid to mask the pain.
Avatar f tn On the bottom of my left foot i have a little ball forming on the arch of my foot. i have very high arches and i can now tell that the have been dropping. ive went and got new shoes and "state of the art" arch supports $200. which they do not work. im terrified that something is really wrong with them, because the pain i feel wont stop, while i drive, walking around the house, grocery shopping and even during sex.
Avatar f tn Hello, I need opinions. I've had chronic foot pain for over two years. I've seen podiatrists, neurologists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, chiropractors, alternative med doctors, and several other types of specialists. I've had a spinal tap, MRIs, X-rays, brain scans, ENGs, nerve conduction studies, TONS of bloodwork, and electrostimulation. I've bought new shoes, changed my diet drastically, detoxed my body, and so many other things to try to help.

Avatar f tn I get a really warm feeling in the left side of my right foot almost everyday, and many times throughout the day. It usually lasts for a while before it's gone, but always comes back. It doesn't hurt or isn't uncomfortable, but I feel it all the time. The doctors told me my arches are falling, but that was 2 years ago. What is this warm feeling in my foot?
Avatar m tn Hello, These can be foot blisters, bullous fungal infection or pompholyx if they are itchy. When a foot is hot and sweaty, the sock sticks to the foot. The sock and foot then rub against each other and the inside of the shoe causing blisters to appear.Plantar fibromas are firm, nodular masses which occur as a single mass or in clusters on the arches of the foot. Wear shoes that fit properly and keep feet as dry as possible.
Avatar f tn Plantar Faciitous is most likely what your foot pain is. Or 'fallen arches' - 'flat feet'. A doctor should know all these. A physical massage therapist certainly will know. Plantar Faciitous is an inflamed tendon that attaches to your heel and the underside of the toes. You feel the pain most in the mornings first steps out of bed. Familiar? Hypothyroid can aggravate this more. I had a lot of muscle / joint / tendon pain on Levothyroxine or Synthroid (T4 meds).
Avatar f tn High arches increase the chances of a metatarsal stress fracture. So does extra weight and high impact exercise. Spasticiy can cause similar pain in the foot and lower leg.
Avatar f tn When I finally went to the dr I was first told it was from high arches and need arch supports. When I went to the foot dr they found a fractured cuboid bone. I have been in a cam boot weight bearing for two weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has been weight bearing the first weeks. Seems like everything I read says I should be non weight bearing.
1396846 tn?1332459510 My right foot was extremely painful to walk on for awhile, and to say it felt bruised is probably an apt description. It did eventually abate or...... maybe it's the level of Gabapentin I'm on but it's not a great problem now. My left foot has also caused me issues since June but that's more around the ankle itself. I'm nearly at the limit of Gabapentin so may have to look at something else soon.
Avatar n tn Okay, I have two bumps on the bottom of my left foot in the arch of my foot. They seem to be under the skin and I've had them for several years. They don't cause me much trouble, but whenever anyone notices them they say I should have them looked at. What do you think they are?
4310107 tn?1352840858 ve experienced constant calf muscle twitching and some tightness in the legs and arches of my feet. Not sure whether to classify this as a relapse or just daily symptoms of the disease. What makes you think you are having a relapse?
Avatar f tn At work I take my shoes off and stand on the textured mats we have but it doesnt help. Anyone else have any ideas?
Avatar f tn 1st doc said fallen arches (incorrect-arches are fine). 2nd doc -orthopedist, foot structure is fine. 3rd doc checked for blood clots in the legs-no sign of clots. After I insisted on more info with regard to the swelling, she basically threw her hands up and said she had no clue, try an anti-inflammatory. I pushed and she referred to a rheumatologist (doc 4). Doc 4 says I no way have any sort of arthritis (didn't really think so) but she listens to heart quite a while.
Avatar m tn I have numbness in my larger three toes on my left foot and sometimes it my left foot hurts, but it's my right foot that really is giving me a hard time. I can hardly walk in the morning when I first get up or off my feet for a short priod of time. It hurt on the right side of my foot a couple of inches below my smaller toes near the edge. Also near the inside arches area my heal (to push it with my thumb really hurts). Also the top of my right foot burns a lot.
Avatar m tn A few days ago i started getting a pain on my left foot about 2-3 inches above the big toe. It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling.
