Correct, I don't think Synthroid has skyrocketed like Tirosint has, but I have seen some people complaining it was more expensive. Perhaps it's in certain regions and areas? Insurance issues and switches? Whatever the case, paying triple the amount you used to for it is outrageous! The older insulins, particularly humalin-R do not have a flat action profile.

The only other difference is that he takes NPH at the same time as Humalog in the am and does not take NPH at the dinner meal.

I am waiting for supplies to come that will allow me to change from shots to the pump, but in the meantime, my after dinner blood sugars still dive very quickly. I cut my Humalog and NPH doses in half and eliminated the use of Ultralente but I am still having the same problem. My blood sugar will go down 100-150 mg/dL or more within an hour of eating (even when eating carb-rich meals). No matter what I seem to do, this trend occurs. Are there any other individuals with this problem?

My doc and I have made a plan so to speak. Next month I will be doing Clomid with injectables (FSH and HCG) with 2 office ultrasounds (baseline and day 12). I am waiting for the estimate.... anyone have experience?? how much should I expect the estimate to me? After the "injectable months" (we will try 2-3 she said) if they don't work then we will go to IUI and that will cost around $600-700 she said per month. Any info would be so helpful!

Hi! I'm in a 20ui HUMALOG after meals regiment, however, in between meals and during the night my blood sugar levels drop below 70. Should I stop taking the HUMALOG?

I started controlling my blood sugar using Regular insulin About 3 years ago, my doctor moved me to humalog. Using humalog was not easy. I looked at the study that was done and it never reacted as expected when I used it. It was taking 2 hours to start working and in by the third hour my glucose level would drop 200 to 250. It was also hard for me to sense when my blood sugar is low. That was very frustrating. After six month of roller coaster, my doctor put me on Novolog.

I know our readings are different in canada , 5 to 7 is normal.I have had sugars as high as 32 and used 10 units of humalog , half an hour later I am 34 , I don't understand this ? What is the ratio of humalog to carbs ? last time i bought Repronex cost me about $300 for 4 vial. This cycle I bought Follistim from one of the pharmacy that's my dr gave me and it's cost me $250 for 4 vial. The doctor charge me $350 for IUI. Last month alone, I spent almost $1000 for meds, IUI, sonogram, etc.... This month I do expect about the same. I have recently been switched to Lantus & Humalog and I have some questions. I take it in the morning. If I awake with an abnormal blood sugar (too high) I assume I would take a small dose of fast acting. Would I also take a small dose of fast acting if my blood sugar is normal, as to cover my breakfast? I know to count the carbs before the lunch meal and the dinner meal, but didn't ask about the breakfast meal.

My 9 year old son was changed to Humalog in October. Within 24 hours we noticed a complete change of personality. He became moody, violent to his siblings, abusive and completely unpleasant nearly all of the time. We stuck it out for a week and then changed him back to his normal insulin.
