Due to skipping meal, I developed adrenaline stress and by diamicron metformin But blood sugar was never high. Doctor gave me Lantus and Humalog. It was working well for a year. Then blood was becoming high, Doctor gave me LEVEMIR. If I take 10 units of humalog, after two hours sugar drops 4 points, I think this is the right dose for humalog for what I eat. I eat 60 gram Carb every meal.

I am a 25 year old who has had Type 1 diabetes for 9 years. My overall control was great until about 3 weeks ago when I had several extreme cases of hypoglycemia. My insulin doses have been roughly the same for 7 years and I am all of a sudden having problems. I am waiting for supplies to come that will allow me to change from shots to the pump, but in the meantime, my after dinner blood sugars still dive very quickly.
Hi, You may be able to fix this by increasing your lunchtime dose by a few units(please discuss with your doctor before doing this), but another change that your doctor can try is switching you to a different formulation of insulin, perhaps a 75-25 mix instead of 50-50.
Endo was noticing too many "lows" logged two hours after meal. She asked if I felt symptoms, and I said "yes". I have worked for 25 years in busy, high stress jobs, traveled, etc...always monitoring bg and adjusting glucose intake as needed. Have never in 39 years experienced a low so severe as to need medical attention, but of course, have had lows. I test 10 times/day. She said she just wanted to make sure, ..
I've had Type I diabetes for 41 and have done great on Lente/Regular - until Lente was discontinued this summer. I switched to Lantus/Humalog about six weeks ago, and I will be the first one to stand up and say that the fine tuning of the doseage takes time and patience. I learned during the first week that 1) in my case Lantus only lasts about 18 hours, 2) it has a definite peak for me at about 5 hours after injection.

I'm 25 years old and have had type1 diabetes since i was four. I've smoked cannabis regularly for the last few years and, as a result, have indeed developed greater control over my condition. I used to have a problem with alcohol which has led to some retinopathy complicatons as well as depression and often violent moodswings.
I have not been able to lose anything in the last few years, even with a personal trainer. I guess 7 lbs is good but I want to keep going and lose the needed 25 lbs left to go. Any suggestions?
