Avatar f tn I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision. Just as MD would result in a similar outcome without treatment. I would appreciate input as I put together my appeal. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my question.
892068 tn?1241306467 s office knows how to do the paperwork so that your insurance will pay for it. Try to find a board-certified surgeon who is experienced with cataract/refractive procedures. (You can check board certifiction by using the doctor directory at www aao org.) You'd probably want a doctor who is experienced doing limbal relaxing incisions to correct your astigmatism.
233488 tn?1310693103 Redness is still there and will be noticeable for a few more weeks. Double vision is a problem at first but is pretty much gone as well as vision improves and as you do the exercises. Post surgery, vision is VERY poor, usually it is finger counting for a few days and then recovery from there on. I was 20/300 the next morning (from 20/25!
Avatar n tn ReZoom is a lens which works by producing 2 separate images inside the eye, one for near vision and one for far. Most people can adapt to this vision which may take 6 mos to a year. By now if you are still having trouble, you may not be able to adapt. Removing these lenses is not easy. I can't tell what trouble you are having but try some simple things.
Avatar f tn My mom has humana so idk how medicaid works out if your under your moms on.it. maybe just sign up for your own medicaid insurance and get off your moms.
Avatar f tn While experience these pains my right shoulder has tingling, numbness feel, and 2 days I go I was told that my prescription for my reading glasses is going up, because of my right eye. I have always had 20/20 vision untill last year. The glass that i use are like the ones you buy in a store just to have magnafication so you can read, except my prescription is even lower then those. These headaches have disrupted my life so much that I am on the verge of loosing my job.
Avatar f tn But the OBGYN that is covered by them is 30 minutes away. She works out of a hospital that is not covered by them!!! How crazy is that! So due to bleeding and being rh+ I had to go to the ER with authorization from my OB. That ER visit is costing me $2000 because it was not covered at that hospital. The insurance swears that I was covered and that the doctors are charging me in excess above their agreed payment.
Avatar m tn Most noticeably he may not have clear vision either near, in his mid vision or for distance. I gave up a zone (mid) to have better near and far vision. Toric IOLs are used to correct astigmatism, but are single focus and can be set to one of the three zones. I don't believe there are yet multifocal Toric IOLs available in North America. As JodieJ described, there are other options. Properly mapped Lasik can certainly reduce astigmatism.
735919 tn?1236444549 I am 30yrs old and i am taking Cymbalta for my Fibromyalgia pain but i have to stop it do to my insurance. It works REALLY well for my pain. I wanted to know if anyone is taking Lyrica for their pain and if it works.
Avatar f tn Not sure what your med insurance situation is, or how that figures in to things, but it sounds like you need to find a new GP. As suggested above, talking to a health professional really should be the very first thing you do, for both the pain management issue and how to approach detox safely. The people on this forum can't give medical advice, only suggestions, general information and support. Sarah is very knowledgeable and has helped many who've come here looking for answers.
Avatar f tn I think you have to be married to get on his plan, however the baby will be covered under his as soon as it's born. I could be wrong though.
1282384 tn?1271431332 m wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
Avatar f tn Depends on how ur insurance works.. If ur deductible applies u will need to pay a certain %.. If u already met ur deductible then everything should b covered at 100%.. Double check because I used to work for BofA when I was prego w my second baby and I was gonna have to pay a good couple thousands for my L&D plus how many days I stayed.. Pain in the bu**...
Avatar n tn suboxone is a lifesaver, there is too much negative mis-information out there, how can ANYTHING be as dangerous as addiction itself...? i do believe in working the treatment with therapy, i feel it is a must!!! but feeling well enough, not high, not sick just normal so we are able to tend to these underlying issues that we have ignored for so long is just such a good feeling...suboxone DOES work!! Avatar m tn This is Arkansas and I am told by 2 different Doctors that there is only one hep-c Doctor that will see me with medicaid insurance. I signed up to get a bi-opsy and that has also taken over 5 months so far and I keep getting told that I am on some waiting list! I was #63 and now I am down lower on the list probably because people are dying before they get the treatment that they need. Just by hearing what you have already told me, I am going to start making phone calls for myself on Monday.
Avatar n tn You sound like a great candidate for mini-monovision with a near bias (intermediate vision in one eye; near vision in the other). Dr. Hagan has posted the recommended targets elsewhere--use the search feature to find them. You would only need glasses for distance vision activities. However, if you only do one eye now (and the other sometime in the future), you would be forced to wear a contact lens in your second eye all the time. (I suppose that an eye patch would work, too.
2093716 tn?1344094995 t have the right kind of referral but once we submitted some special paperwork they reduced the charges to $40, a big difference. Check on how your insurance works now before you get another big bill...I've had that heart attack from the bill too.

I have insurance through work that before I got I called and asked if my pregnancy would be considered a preexisting condition or not for both coverage and short term disability. Thy said it wouldn't be and they woukd cover both. Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar f tn TO: insita: My blurred vision is without glasses. To: Rylanesmom: Currently I'm in the works at getting the Specialist ns. My problem is my insurance won't pay for eye exam, and I'm trying to figure out if I should have another one.
290867 tn?1333569278 I think they have to offer you COBRA to continue the plan you have but that can get pretty expensive because you make the entire premium by yourself since your employer no longer pays a share of it. At least, that's how it usually works. You can look into getting an individual policy but make sure you check all the fine print, exclusions, limitations, etc.
Avatar n tn Dear jordan21105, Some plans require overage dependent children to be full time students. Depending on the contract this requirement may be waived if the child is disabled. You can find out how your mother's plan works by having her check with her Human Resources Dept.
