Avatar f tn t sweat the vegetarianism, but avoid the dairy -- while I have no problem with you eating any way you like, dairy is far more difficult on most people than many animals we consume. As I say, everyone gets to eat the way they want, but for health's sake, research dairy, but if this is just for ideology, go for it any way you believe in.

Serotonin (a natural brain chemical) naturally elevates our moods, affects our sleep cycles and appetites; also allows our bodies to deal with stress better.
Avatar f tn It could take up to about 30 days for the activity in this vial to decrease to levels that are no longer measurable above natural background radiation levels. In addition, when thallium-201 is injected into the blood during a stress test, the thallium rapidly leaves the blood by uptake in the cells of all organs and tissues in the body. Over time, the thallium eventually is excreted by way of the gastrointestinal tract 80% and through the urine 20%.
1063764 tn?1272821064 I've been a vegetarian for the last five years, almost. There were a few points where I was vegan for months at a time. Right now I do eat eggs and some dairy occasionally but no fish. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about three years ago...but I have reason to believe that I had it long before. I remember how my body felt years ago...so I don't want to blame vegetarianism for my hypothyroidism. Getting to my point- I've had pretty bad memory loss for a few years now as well.

14827117 tn?1436915402 In terms of TPO-Ab levels, 35 of 38 patients (92%) had a decrease, 2 patients had undulating levels, and 1 patient had an inverse hyperbolic increase in her TPO-Ab levels. In the 35 patients in whom there were decreasing TPO-Ab values, the mean of the first value was 4779 IU/mL with an SD of 4099 IU/mL. The mean decrease after 3 months was 8%, and after 1 year it was 45%. Five years after the first value, TPO-Ab levels were 1456 +/- 1219 IU/mL, a decrease of 70%.

Avatar m tn walk in place if you have to! Walking even for 10 mins a day can help combat stress PLUS clear your mind better. You might even find yourself thinking a bit more clearly as well...lowering the stress-level of the job you're working on. This is just my point-of-view and you don't in any way have to take any of the advice or do any of it. It's just habits my fiance and I picked up on.
Avatar f tn I know this is not what you have heard in this forum, but that is the medical truth. Low B12 and/or low folate levels with HIGH METHYLMALONIC ACID (MMA) levels (Normal values are 0.08 to 0.56 micromoles per liter,) so greater than 0.56 micromoles per liter, will prevent the formation of healthy myelin. This set up the body to produce fragile myelin and interferes with the normal remylenation that should be happening in the nervous system. The high MMA is the bad guy and cause here.

Avatar f tn Hi IBS is a condition that has a relation to psychosocial stress. Exercise is known to decrease the stress levels, so any stress relieving activity has a positive effect on the disease process. You should try starting with mild exercise and should follow the usual guidelines such as avoiding exercising before and after meals, avoiding caffeine or hot drinks and exercise when your intestines are quieter. Regards.
Avatar f tn it all depends on how u deal with stress. When you are stressed out, your body pumps out different hormones-obviously the stress hormones that increase heart rate n things like that. Some stress is normal. N if u can cope with them, your body's stress hormones level out but if you're constantly stressed, u can be affecting the baby. I remember learning in school that too much stress during pregnancy can be associated with low birth weight and/or premature birth.
Avatar f tn HCG levels on Thursday were 39000. On Saturday, levels had decreased to 35000. Doctor is rechecking again tomorrow and ordering a more sensitive ultrasound. Is there anything positive about this?

Avatar f tn If one had issues with severe stress and weight, how strongly would you recommend medication? (where stress is affecting ones ability to manage ones weight). My previous T did research on cardiac patients and she was horrified by my stress levels and the effect it would be having on my body. Avatar f tn I'm going thru the same thing, unfortunately this is my 5th one but all have been different. I found out that I was pregnant at 3w6d on 7/20 my hcg was 29, 7/27 it was 62 and on 8/6 it went up to 317. I started bleeding on 7/28 and just stopped 8/9. I should be 7w today. My problem is that my body likes to hold onto the pregnancy (viable or not) and any amount of tissue left behind can make the levels increase, might have to have a d&c done after the level starts to decrease.
Avatar f tn Under conditions of high stress, the loss of available tyrosine to the brain results in one’s loss of interest, slower movement and a decline in physical health. Low tyrosine levels coupled with chronic stress leads to a decrease in enzymatic activity responsible for producing hormones. These influences affect the hypothalamus and adrenal glands which adversely leads to the dysfunction of the thyroid.
