Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn Hi catie, Well you don't have to take meds for food allergies - unless you eat the foods you're allergic to of course! Zyrtec is for the airborne allergies, such as pollen and dog hair, it's a strong antihistamine (anti-allergy) and its side affects can make you drowsy, but it doesn't affect me. I only take it during hay fever season, and avoid dogs. It's better than remembering to take a pill every day!
Avatar n tn Unrefined all natural sea-salt 1 teaspoon with a glass of room temperature water x2, should help, until the sufferer gets to a doctor or clinic. Sometimes this remedy takes care of it, without having to see the doctor. Better yet, why not eliminate the Allergy. Visit a Holistic Allergy Elimination Therapist for that. "Allergy Antidotes" (the method I use here in Canada) is very efficient and usually permanent results within a few treatments. N.A.E.T. ( Dr.

645800 tn?1466860955 In the interim you need to have something like Medic Alert who could not only notify the paramedics, but could possibly notify someone around you who could come to your aid. You should teach everyone in your family how to use the EpiPen and all your close (in proximity and other) friends. There are also personal alarms that will sound shrilly if activated. That could alert family and neighbors.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you obtain a referral to an allergist or an ENT who does allergy testing. That is the only way to reliably know what is causing your allergic reaction. Some allergies can be life-threatening as they can precipitate anaphylactic shock in which the swelling can be so severe that it impairs the ability to breathe. Therefore, I would suggest you see someone as soon as possible. Also, keep an epi pen with you in case of an emergency. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn m still highly reactive. How long do we stay reactive? How long does the steriod last in our system to fight this off? Will I feel like this forever? Should I have been released from the hospital so soon? Could I have a severe allergy to more than just shellfish? AHHH, sorry, just scared to even leave the house. Thanks for insight on this. This is my first run with this problem and still confused on everything that has happened.
Avatar f tn YouTube it. Just search how to use birthing ball. Or how to help baby drop with birthing ball.
Avatar m tn I take EDTA a chelating agent like once a month. I don't have lead, but I have high iron. EDTA chelates heavy metals from the blood and body. But you have to take a good multiple vitamin afterwards as it also removes the good elements from your body. You might want to try it to see if it helps. I don't know what the ceramic clay could possibly contain to cause this problem, but it is dirt and could have something in it that caused an allergic reaction.
20451547 tn?1498215245 I have an epipen, I just never want to have to use it. What should I do about these frequent panic attacks? This is no fun....living like this....it stress me out super bad.
Avatar n tn You could do the same and give instructions to co-workers on how to use your epipen if you carry one.
Avatar f tn The other day my friend had a major asthma attack that almost sent him to the ER-- he thankfully had an epipen nearby. He thinks what triggered it was a laxative (sennosides in pill form) he took a couple of hours before. Is this even possible? And if so, should he be avoiding all things laxative? I wouldn't be asking these questions here, but he is too stubborn to go to a doctor like he should.
Avatar n tn After the assistant put in the drops to dilate my eyes I passed out. Once I came to I vomited and continued to do so the rest of the day. I was disoriented, thinking I was walking one way and really going another. The eye doctor assured me that it was impossible to have an allergic reaction to these drops. Is it possible? I cringe even thinking about going back but know I need to.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
