Common Questions and Answers about How to use ciclopirox nail lacquer

Avatar n tn Prior the the potential exposure, I was prescribed a topical nail fungus medication (ClearNails Pro) that is fat soluble and claims to penetrate to the nail bed. This medication contains a drug called ciclopirox which was recently discovered to kill hiv infected cells in vitro. The percentage of ciclopirox is 6 percent. 1. Since my fungal medication is fat soluble and contains ciclopirox, will it enter the blood stream in enough concentration to affect the accuracy of an hiv antibody test?
Avatar m tn This could be due to infection, particularly fungal in nature, as well as nail trauma. It is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper diagnosis. Direct clinical examination is important. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hi for nails..if your skin isn't broken You can try curing the fungal infection by buying quite cheaply white vinegar. I would try that to cure the fungal infection. It worked on my gf's feet and my dad's feet by immersing in a bowl for between 30 mins to 1 hour... After treatment wash with water only and dry and no need to use soaps or creams as these may irritate the skin further . Without seeing I cannot confirm but as vinegar is just a mild acid it's worth a try.
569705 tn?1217017492 Thank u for ur answer. My daughter recently developed a ringworm on her arm and the I thought "How did she get that?!" Anyway, I got her meds and have been using them on the soles of my feet as well and they are showing major improvement after only two days without even using my other prescribed meds........I'll let u know how it turns out. However I am not sure if I should use it on my hands. I think I'll see how my feet turn out first. Again thank you for ur advice.
Avatar f tn t want to thin it out so much that you hit the nail bed. (blood and OUCH) Reducing the nail thickness will enable the cream/lotion/or paint on lacquer to saturate the nail better. This is not something I would advise on fingernails in fact its not something I'd advise at all under normal circumstances.
Avatar n tn Hello Doctors, I am looking for an answer to a disturbing problem that hopefully this site can help get resolved. I have some very strange preciciment and have tried to solve myself, and asked a couple local docters with no answers. I have hoticed a weird white casing attached to 70% of my pubic hair. It isn't painful, just annoying and uncomfortable to deal with. The Two Doctors I have seen have been baffled.
Avatar m tn I am 43 years old and high school teacher, about 14 years, during a summer job I was spraying a white pigmented sanding lacquer and a white finish coat with lacquer retarder. I wore a respirator the enter time, but had not protective clothing. In fact, I wore a thin short sleeve cotton shirt. I sprayed in a small enclosed building. I would spry for about five minutes, go outside and waited about fifteen minutes and repeated the process most of the day.
Avatar m tn For head treatment, I will use Stieprox shampoo with Ciclopirox Olamine 1.5% w/w which relieves my scalps itching & scaling issue.. a bit expensive but it works for me :) I think I will continue using this tablets until I get examined by derma specialist. By the way, is there is any side effects of using this medicine continuously? Thank you in advanced.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for the query. I think you should get your blood sugar test done Fbs/ post prandial sugar / tlc /dlc/esr. Don’t use oils & creams for hair . Take two baths daily. Use a good hair shampoo & reconsult your dermatologist. Wish you a good health.
Avatar m tn I took the medication for 7 days and all the infection seemed to disappear. But after 2 weeks of finishing my medication, the infection seems to re-occur. Please advise.
Avatar m tn Okay... I've hunted the web a thousand times over, and have not been able to come up with an answer.... This particular malady started life as what looked like a zit. I popped it, and it exploded into what looked like a simple bacterial infection. I treated it like any infected zit area (with neosporin and cleanliness), and it just got worse.
Avatar n tn Hello, These symptoms may be due to traction which is causing pulling of the hair follicles. Try keeping the hair lose or keep it in a moose ponytail. The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin.
Avatar m tn There is longstanding studies on how to try and prevent high myopia. Long term use of atropine eye drops is under study. Other than that I'm not aware of anything else.
564710 tn?1217719711 But when I bring up the fact that they can buy me things on the market to help control my bad habit, they refuse and say I need to use my will power. Only problem is I'm not a very willful girl. When they told me that they wouldn't buy me anything to help, I started putting nasty-tasting nail polish remover on my nails and that helped for awhile, but now I'm getting used to the taste of it and it's not helping as much.
8762956 tn?1406304757 If you use acetone,, make sure you put vasaline on your exposed skin around the nail to prevent damage... I just did this today,, took about 20 minutes for the nails to desolve && its a pretty messy process but my natural nails are still intack except for one.!!
Avatar f tn He thought maybe it might be the same condition and told me to go ahead and use my Ertaczo on the rash on my chin. Unfortunately, it didn't work on this rash. In fact, it seemed to have made it worse. From there I decided to go back to the dermatologist. The derm did not think it was fungal but actually said it may be contact dermatitis, meaning something that was coming in contact with my skin was giving me an allergic reaction. She went ahead and gave me Synalar, a corticosteriod cream.
1408787 tn?1281419089 you have to cut into the side of toe nail then let it grow long then cut it straight across. poor hydrogen peroxide after cutting the best stuff and cheap in 99 cent store. it does"nt leave scaring either I put it in my first aid kit with Neosporin for not so big cuts.
Avatar f tn t mind telling anyone about what I ued to do except maybe for a few doctors who seem to think that if you used stuff once, you are ALWAYS at risk to use again, which I find to be ridiculous. I did many stupid things when I was young and 'knew more than God' --- but I'm over 50 now and I certainly don't do that **** anymore! Since I have chronic pain from several diseases, including chronic polyneuropathy (big OUCH), I cannot tell the pain mgmt docs about my past.
Avatar f tn my daughter started getting these fungus under the sking i was told to use sulfer to greese the scalp the lumps are gone but now the scalp hurts. i cannot comb the hair. i just have to brush them. what can I do?
Avatar n tn So about 3 weeks ago, me and my boyfriend had sex. It was quite painful for me and after that i felt burning 'down there'. The next few days it was incredibly itchy, but my period came so i couldn't go to the hospital. After my period, i still had that problem down there, it just wasn't as itchy as before. I tried a few off the counter medications but none seemed to work. I went to the hospital and i was told it was a fungus.
Avatar n tn Upon examining the fundus with a 90D lens, both optic nerves were tilted, C/D ratios were 0.45/0.45 OU. On BIO examination, there seemed to be what looked like lattice degeneration. There was no posterior staphyloma. My questions are: 1. Based on the info given above, does the pt have degenerative myopia? 2. Could what I've seen on BIO be lacquer cracks and not lattice? 3. What should be the next step w/ this patient?
