25 year old male. Genital warts had somehow spread to my anus. Awful and embarrassing. I tried Veregen but all it did was explode the number of perianal warts. The packaging says it could increase their number, but I really wasn't ready for that. It went from 4 or 5, to by my new doctor's count, more than 20.
So we tried cryotherapy and a Rx of Aldara.
I'm a healthy 21-year old female. My fiance and I lost our virginity to one another three years ago and have been sexually exclusive with one another ever since. My regular MD felt I should wait until age 21 to have my first pap smear, so all routine physicals have been through her. Nothing has come up irregular.
This week I had my first pap smear. My doctor delivered the news that she "thinks" I have genital warts.
I was prescribed aldara about 4 weeks ago but was not able to use it continuously because I also get the doctor to put podophilin on the warts when they are visible and that sometimes cause the irritation of the area, hence, I had to stop aldara for a few times already when that happened. I had my Pap Smear done 2 weeks ago and the test result was negative. I also had Gardasil vaccination last week.
My questions are:
1. My gyno confirms that I don't have any warts inside my vagina.
I would think it reasonable to apply the medication to the areas that had visible warts for 2-3 treatments after the warts seem to be gone, but probably it isn't necessary to go beyond that.

i was told you hv to get to the root to ensure it does not grow back. additionally, i hv to use aldara to ensure the infected cells are killed there.
There are ppl who hv plantar wart for so long, and when left untreated for so long, can leave a hole when the bad cells are killed (there are pix on the net for this) ...
I have been using aldara for about a month on my genital warts and have had no burning or tenderness that I have heard people talk about on these forums. It has been working great and I am noticing my warts are starting to shrink. The other morning after using my aldara cream overnight I noticed a lump under my skin where I applied some aldara. It is very tender to touch and very noticeable.

and after 2 weeks use i have had good results so far so if i were you i would go see your dermatologist if he recomends surgery set the date for about 1 1/2 months away and get them to prescribe you aldara in the meantime. use aldara and within 4 weeks if the warts have not reduced in size or started to clear then just go in for surgery.
I have never seen a cream that says to use it for HPV without the presence of warts, nor one that says to use it 3x a day, even if you had warts. Since I don't know what it is, I can't offer you advice on this, except to say that if you decide to use it, start small. Put it on a very small spot, wait a day before adding any more, and see what happens to your skin in that time. I wouldn't put it on any spot larger than a pea size. It could literally burn your skin.
Just started a treatment of Aldara today. I always seem to have a few small genital warts on me. Does anyone know what I can expect. I am 31 and healthy in every way. I have been receiving cryotherapy for 3 years and they always come back. I was told that Aldara will help get my immune system involved in fighting the virus so I will have a better chance of losing the warts. Has anyone out there used thus treatment ?
I have been treating anal warts for 8 weeks with aldara and after about 6 weeks i noticed they were slowly shrinking. While the visible warts are indeed shrinking (almost gone entirely), i know that there are internal ones in my anus that are still there, whether or not the aldara is helping them is undetermined.
I just want to be able to eliminate the mass of pubic hair without causing warts to arise. I have used shaving cream to cover it and then shave it off and it still causes warts. It's really a horrible virus to have.
I have had genital warts for 5 years now and ive been using aldara for quite some time. aldara seems to work pretty well for the most part. while using aldara frequeantly i would experience some side effects like some pain or swelling after using it for a long period of time. i would stop the use and the redness/ swelling would go away and i would contine use and everything would be okay.
Also, if I have scabbed up over the original wart, should I wait until that spot has healed before continuing treatment, or continue use?

t sure whether or not it was actually a recurrence or just scar tissue from previously removed warts. He looked at them and said he believed they were in fact warts and proposed Aldara to treat them. He also claimed that I could have recurrences for the rest of my life and made other statements based on facts, that having frequented this forum as well as the ask an expert forum, I know to be outdated info or flat out myths.
I Was diagnosed about a month ago with genital warts at planned parenthood the lady told me to use aldara because i have 1 small lesion and a bunch of what she says to be tiny warts that are the size of a needle point. They are really small but i have a lot. Just so you know how small they are you wouldn't know they were there unless you stretch out the skin and take a look.
The doctor prescribed me Aldara cream and I just started using it last week, she said it can take up to 8-16 weeks for the warts to go away. They're small bumps though so I hope it wouldn't take that long. My question is, for anybody that has used Aldara cream before, how effective is it? I know that it's supposed to boost my immune system so that my body can fight off the infection, but besides making the warts go away, does it really get rid of HPV?
if aldara not working go back to ur doctor....freeze off is not for genital warts....sometimes they hafta use laser surgery.
