Treat your feet as well as genitalia because men tend to touch their feet to their underwear when getting dressed and it passes back and forth. Wash socks and underwear in hot water with measured Tide and half cup baking soda. You can get Nigella sativa oil pills from Whole foods or Amazon. Take 1 a day with plenty of water. this will fight yeast from the inside. Also a probiotic can help.
Avatar n tn You can get a bacterial infection from having sex with someone who has one or just from having poor hygiene in general. What type of bacterial infection do you mean?
Avatar n tn The less yeast he has the less yeast you will have. Also, I find that during the week before my period starts I am much more prone to yeast infections and of course if I eat a lot of sugar or drink several glasses (sometimes just 1) of wine. It takes a lot of monitoring! Good luck!
Avatar f tn As for prevention, use protection during sex. Yeast infections can develop of their own accord and the only thing to do is treat it when it appears really. Though I'd avoid tight fitting clothing if it becomes a recurring thing...
Avatar f tn how do i safely treat yeast infection? Is there a natural supplement to help during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Hi Pam, I am pretty confident that the answer to that is no. The bladder and bowel problems have to do with nerves not correctly firing to coordinate the muscles that are ultimately in control of emptying. Throw in the drugs we take and that contributes to the problem, too. A yeast infection has nothing to do with muscles and nerves. That said, you could have recurrent yeast infections because of the antibiotics were are often on to treat the UTI's.
Avatar f tn Well, I guess you could consider asking your partner to get checked for fungal infections, but that's not the most common way to get yeast infections. Here's from a different website. Not all of it applies, since for example you don't douche, but I'll post it all because you're not the only person ever to write in with this question. One of the ideas I had is that you might have passed the yeast infection to your partner (as mentioned here), who then passed it back to you.
Avatar f tn Did your MD state you had an yeast infection or just an infection and not tell you what type? Did you MD tell you to treat it? According to a website: "it's tricky to tell when men have yeast infections, because they can have a penile yeast infection without having symptoms. when they do have symptoms, it can be really awful; the most common symptom is irritation and soreness of the head of the penis. apparently it can itch like crazy, too.
Avatar f tn I didnt feel comfortable taking that so I did some research and found out that garlic has anti yeast properties and is natural. Since I didnt want to just be shoving garlic in my 'cooter' fearing infection etc. I baught some sugar/yeast/preservative free garlic pills from walgreens and put them in there. I hear a 7 day treatment with some cranberry juice should cure it. Anyone else ever tried or heard of this?
Avatar n tn I looked on the internet and it says there are no drugs that cure yeast infection in men ( only takes away the effects of it ). Does any qualified doctor here know if there is a !!!cure!!! here for year infection in men? I bought canesten cream but its not getting rid of it.
Avatar f tn It is very uncommon for men to get these infections through intercourse, but he can get it in his mouth if you have oral sex. The period probably won't flush out the infection, you need meds to help get rid of it. Go to Walgeens, CVS, or RITEAID and go to the isle with the condoms and lubrication, that's where the Monistat is. If you have any questions the pharmacist can help! And eat your yogurt!
Avatar f tn i have a fungal infection on my penis can anyone tell me how long it will take to get ok. and is the red patch on my penis is the infection actually half of my penis is more red then other half...
Avatar f tn Just want to say that as a woman, I agree with all of this. If you're trying to have a g-spot orgasm, or inside orgasm during sex, some women never have those, and only have clitoral orgasms. Some men - especially younger men, don't know what that is, much less how to find it. Do you know how to find yours? Pax's suggestion about masturbation is a great one. Absolutely get checked out by a doctor to find out why you aren't getting lubricated.
Avatar f tn How do they test for yeast infections? I had an appointment about a week and a half ago and told my midwife I thought I had a uti because I always had to pee but when I went , nothing came out. so she made me pee in a cup. They never called me back so I'm guessing I don't have one. But, now that symptom went away and I'm just really itchy down there! I know that's a sign of yeast infection but do you think she tested my pee for that too when I went last time ???
Avatar f tn I have diabetes and even though my sugars are pretty good I get yeast infections quite often...I try to keep up on eating yogurt regularly and my dr said okay to taking acidophilus pills so I do that and seems to help. Also sleeping without underwear so it can air out...
Avatar f tn In terms of healing time, you should really consider taking the oral medication diflucan. Some people (myself included) are allergic to the creams that treat yeast infections. For me, it felt like my symptoms were continuing on and on, when in reality the yeast was cured and I was having an allergic reaction. In terms of the UTI/cludy urine I would go back to the doc. Cloudy urine could be the presence of white blood cells (possibly there's still an infection).

Avatar m tn So I had a terrible breakout on my entire penis shaft that was extremenly itchy and red. It began to flake and produce bumps along the rash that looked like poison ivy (without the fluid). I had a primary care doctor take a look at it, she said it was NOT herped or warts. She scraped a piece of the skin onto a slide, left for about 30 minutes, came back and said... "yep its a fungus." SO...
Avatar n tn Men can get yeast infections but show no signs of it. It is usually the woman who becomes the victim of this. Everytime my husband takes antibiotics, he gives me a yeast. And everytime I take certain antibiotics, I get it too. The doctor tells us that using Lamisil for jock itch is an anti fungal and can be used by my husband to treat it. while I use the pill and monostat. but we cant have any sex whatsoever until we are both treated completely.
Avatar f tn Seven months ago my boyfriend and I began having sex, and about two weeks later I started my period but noticed that I was having major pain and itching internally and externally towards the end of my period. I went to the OB/GYN and I did have a yeast infection for the first time ever. I wasn't on any birth control, nor taking any antibiotics, not pregnant, and the pap came back normal with no diseases.
Avatar m tn Hi James, Just how much do you know about HPV in men, if not then you should find out, as its a thing for life, and all its problems, and I hope that your g/f knows what you have, as its your responsibilty to have told her, as she now probably has it as well, and you doctor now can only treat the side effects of HPV. Any help.
Avatar f tn I had a yeast infection with my second child due to gestational diabetes my Dr just gave me ointment.
Avatar f tn Im 6 months pregnant and I have never had this many yeast infections in my life. I only bathe with dial soap and the doctor said I shouldnt take baths, nothing but showers. Can anybody help me with some remedies or something to help with the yeast infections ??
Avatar m tn Yeast infections are much less common in men than women. When men get yeast infections they can arrise spontaneously just as they do in women but on some occasions, they can also arise from contact with an infected sex partner. When they occur they can appear as red bumps or a rash and red or pink bumps in the infected area. Sometimes but not always they itch. With that as background: 1. Yes, you could have gotten an infection. 2.
Avatar n tn s also super common in pregnancy to get one seeing how out baodies produce more years when pregnant. Men can get yeast infections as well its just not as common as women.
