Avatar n tn my prom is tomorrow and my periods are really heavy is there anything i can do to slow it down.
Avatar f tn Well, you need to understand how a woman's cycle works. The first day of your period is day one of your cycle. On day 10 of your cycle, you can begin having sex and do so every other day for the next 10 days to try to catch ovulation. That's the best way to get pregnant naturally.
Avatar f tn first period after your mc.. I got my period yesterday for the first time after my d&c and it's only been like spotting.. nothing heavy to go on a panty liner or pad, just when I wipe.. that was my first day.. so I don't know if it's going to continue like that or how it's supposed to be...
Avatar f tn I was told the only way to know for sure one has endometriosis is to do a laparoscopy. But what symptoms would lead one to think maybe endometriosis is a problem? I do have cramps (ibuprofen takes them away) and my periods aren't heavy, but one of my REs (I've had a few since) suggested maybe I do have it. My next RE said he didn't think I did and that it doesn't matter anyway if I'm doing IVF. I've had multiple chemical pregnancies, though.
Avatar f tn i have been to the doctor in the past about how irregular my periods are as well and have been told i have nothing to worry about since this sort of thing runs in my family, and all my tests came back okay that they did at the time. but what i don't like, is the fact that i am MUCH heavier at night than i am during the day. i'm wondering, does this happen to either of you as well?
Avatar n tn I want to know if theres anything I can take to either lighten my periods (by a lot) or stop it completely that month. A lot of my friends take contraceptive and say that it helps them with their periods and theirs have become much lighter. I'm a bit hesitant on using contraceptives regularly though, as I've heard they can do some damage long term.
Avatar f tn Me and my fiance have been having sex a lot lately. And I have had my period but they've been a day or so late, but they've been short and heavy... usually my periods last five days but they've been lasting about 2-3 days... what can cause this or can it be a sign of pregnancy? I've taken tests but they've came up negative.. any help?
Avatar f tn ve been drinking lots of water and been taking ibuprofen and had a hot bath to try to stop it.. But wondered if they was anything else I could do or take to stop them completely for this month?
1842569 tn?1320917441 For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
1750910 tn?1312133884 t comment with regard to how your enviroment is directly affecting your overall health but I can make some suggestions on how to proceed with regard to your extended heavy periods. My wife was in pre-menopause and thus her periods became very irregular down to only a few a year. She started having heavy prolonged vaginal bleeding with no other symptoms. She had a transvaginal sonogram which showed a complex solid cyst/mass on her ovary.

Avatar n tn I had very heavy periods, all the sudden they stopped to very light, I'm 47 should I be concerned
Avatar n tn Your mind will get you to stop. I recommend you talking to an OB/ Gyn about this. If you have heavy bleeding and mood swings there are things they can do for that. Drinking isnt one of them. Make that appt.
Avatar f tn Keep in mind also when trying to conceive, it could take up to 2 years for healthy couples with no problems to naturally conceive, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen for you really soon. I myself fell pregnant after 8 months. (But I wasn't trying and didn't know anything about charting or cycles. My periods were too irregular for me to care.
Avatar n tn odds of pregnancy naturally at age 47 are very low, and odds with fertility meds don't increase much. they will likely counsel you to consider a donor egg, so start thinking what you will do in that situation, are you prepared to go ahead? vitex is supposed to help, and can't hurt to try. i wish you the best of luck and i hope you succeed despite the odds.
Avatar f tn Before the IUD I had cycles that varied and were slightly heavy so naturally they got heavier and stayed irregular with the IUD. Within the last 2 years they've actually gotten pretty regular though (I am 27 now so that could be why as well) and the length is still usually 6-9 days. However, within these past few months, I had a period two weeks apart and this past one was 7 weeks apart both lasting only 2 days and staying moderately heavy and then just ending.
Avatar f tn because my periods are very heavy through my whole cycle so I know how you feel and it does suck I hate periods but there is nothing you can do about it but deal with them. you teachers can be rotten and mean and they do not care about kids I feel all they care about is there pay check and getting home as fast as they can. But I feel they need to get a heart and stop and think about they were young once and they need to give kids a break. well I hope this helps some. sign your caring friend.
12205224 tn?1424027156 I am 53 years old. I have always had heavy periods, but lately my periods have lasted a long time, sometimes two weeks or more, and they become very heavy with lots of clotting. I have to wear two super plus tampons at a time and a pantiliner because they always leak. I hate it! What should I do? What can be done to make this more tolerable or stop altogether?
Avatar n tn Again, many women have these types of periods in perimenopause, only to go back to normal periods again or even start skipping them for awhile to any combination. The fact that you ARE on hormones already is saying to me that you MAY need an adjustment in those meds or, a change of them to perhaps, coming off of them under a doc's say-so. Make a call to your family doc or gynecologist and see what they have to say first.
Avatar f tn Also mildly elavated prolactin which I attributed to work stress. My periods are regular, 30 days cycle but really heavy. What do you tink I should do next, getting worried?
Avatar f tn I have had a few issues going on with period,I had surgery on April 1st for the mirena & a d&c not due to a miscarriage or anything like that but it was for my heavy periods I was on the shot for about a yr or so & it caused a lot of problems. After about a month or so I had to have the mirena moved cause it got out of place somehow I was spotting a bit when the mirena was in & then I continued when it was out!
Avatar n tn Like another comment said, birth control can help with long or heavy periods. It has been prescribed by many doctors for those specific reasons.
