Avatar f tn Tess, have you gone to your Principal with your concerns? Someone from admin needs to sit in on your classroom, and evaluate her for further intervention. A child like this is disruptive to everyone in the classroom, and her behavior isn't a reflection on your ability to manage the classroom. Don't be embarrassed to ask for help, she really is exhibiting bizarre behavior. Have you had several parent meetings about her disruptive behavior?
Avatar f tn For example, if you ask for your son to be moved to a different classroom and are flatly told no, you can go to the school board and ask for a policy decision on whether children with documented difficulty behaving in a classroom can have a chance to switch classroom settings to a different teacher. A school board won't listen to a case that is very individual and doesn't really impact policy.
Avatar n tn Continually bargains and consistently delaying the act of going inside the classroom. My question is, how can the teachers and the guidance counselors in school be of help to make this child go inside the classroom and what can be done at home in order for the child to have a change in behavior?
4193337 tn?1355698372 This time the spd is back and I have arthritis so am in a lot of pain and am petrified of the birth. Pregnancy is the scariest thing in the world but the majority of the time it all turns out well. Here's to healthy babies for us all and hoping they give us an easier time when they finally arrive. It's all worth it in the end.
Avatar f tn s no need to be rude some people have no one to talk to but the girls on here. Like myself.
Avatar n tn I am a 4th year full day Kindergarten teacher and this year, I have 8 out of 21 children who cry every day, are oppositional, won't follow directions, won't listen, are mean to others, hit, scream and are constantly disruptive no matter what I do. I have modified the classroom environment, tried many different behavior modification plans, and still, the disruptions persist.
Avatar n tn I have tried the different masks but what I hate is the revving up of the machine when I just about go to sleep. I also have acid reflux so when I have a episode of that then I can't burp and of course I wake up. Well I guess I should stop complaining and just do it. If it took you an year, well I guess I will just be nodding off in the classroom this year.
Avatar m tn Why wasnt this invented a long time ago,i think its a very important concept that should be mandated,we have to stop the spread of diseases, sometimes i woder if the powers that run the planet want us to get sick,it just dont make sense to me,every day someone gets infected, and the reasons why are they just dont know about how the infection happens Death rate extrapolations for USA for Hepatitis C: 8,000 per year, 666 per month, 153 per week, 21 per day, 0 per hour, 0 per minute, 0 per second.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is due to sitting on those hard chair in classroom all day; leaning on side or leaning back and slanting & resting your head on your hand w/ elbow on the desk/table. Bound to shift lower backbones and muscle spasms.
Avatar f tn I rustled the pages just to make some noise. All in all quite distressing. I asked to go to the loo and was told to take my stuff with me, so I did. I left the building and didn't go back to the classroom. Following that, I found myself getting really anxious every time I tried going back to that class, this spread to my other classes and I was skipping out a lot. I never had another panic attack, but find it very difficult to sit in a class.
Avatar f tn Sounds like all of us women on this post live in Cali! I'm miserable as well but at least I can get in the pool. This heat wave needs to stop!
Avatar n tn I've been dilated at a 6 since last Monday and baby is at station +1. Docs said they thought I would be back within 2 days to deliver because she is so low, and because I'm dilated so far. I wish she would come already! I had to stop working because they thought I wouldn't make it to the hospital in time to deliver...but LO is staying put. I'm burning up all my sick time and I feel just fine...it sounds crazy, but I wish I could go back to work until she arrives...
541196 tn?1293552936 It is funny (not) how the insurance company can reduce the price if it is submitted to them. My labs for TSH and free t4 would cost me $246.81 if I didn't go through insurance. The final amount the lab will get is $28.20. BCBS disallows $218.61 ! Luckily I work for Quest and don't even have to pay for that. Something is not right here.
Avatar n tn I had the same arm, shoulder back and knee problems from the very next morning after taking my first Bystolic. I'm 67. I have exercised everyday since I was 14 years old. I don't normally have aches and pains. After five days I couldn't stand it anymore. When so many people are complaining about this, how can doctors and phamacists say it's not a side effect just because the literature doesn't mention it.
Avatar n tn You can also request that they come up with a plan that will breakdown the day by subject to subject and have the teacher Write down on your copy of the log the behaviors in question and when they occur. This will give you a better idea over time of when or why the behaviors are occurring. When my ds was 6 the behaviors only occurred when writing was involved. We later found that he was SLD in writing. This log help me understand what I needed to test him for.
Avatar f tn Thanks Ladies! I keep trying to remember, it will be all worth it in the end! Lord, what we endure to bring our children into the world.
5528454 tn?1384292552 So all my complaining will be coming to a end today!! About to head to the hospital to get induced! I'm a ftm and having him at 41w.
Avatar f tn Hi. Your first few sentences said a lot. Your daughter is young. Some kids are not emotionally developmentally ready for kindergarten even if they academically are. Our school really stresses that. When they evaluate for kindergarten (and she would have just barely made our cut off)------- they don't really look at the academic progress of the child but her emotional readiness. Being dead honest with you, I'd put her back into preschool for another year and try again next year.
Avatar n tn Recently our sons teacher has approached us regarding his inability to focus in the classroom. She says if given simple instruction, he isn't always able to follow unless repeated. He is very bright, well spoken, and comes home each day with new information he has learned in school. The concern is that when he enters kindergarten in the fall, he may not be able to keep up.
Avatar f tn This helped too---there was less coughing in my classroom. Then, I started thinking that maybe the problem was the milk---that I was not digesting the milk properly. My mother was lactose intolerant and I had already switched to Lacteid to help with digestion. So, I went off the milk and on one of the rice milk products that is fortified with calcium and D. Amazingly, my students stopped coughing!!! I have, perhaps, one person out of thirty coughing and in many classes, none.
Avatar n tn There is no room in a classroom for aggression of any sort, and disruption of the environment by talking should also not be permitted. Any aggressive behavior should be met by immediate dismissal from the classroom to whomever is in charge of discipline at the school. Repeated talking after a warning to stop should also be disciplined, such as by having to report to detention. I hope you see the drift of my remarks. Too often a lot of unnecessary misconduct is tolerated in schools.
Avatar f tn It can be normal to lose weight in the first and sometimes in the last trimester. If your ob isn't concerned I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure you are taking your vitamins and folic acid. Good luck.
Avatar f tn d try to get involved at the school level by volunteering in the classroom and getting to see for yourself what is going on. Many kids are over tired when the school year starts let alone little guys starting (and at almost 6, your kiddo is still a little guy). Maybe putting him to bed 15 minutes to a half hour earlier would be helpful. AND . . . can't say enough about this. Kids need lots of physical activity to maintain behavior in school.
Avatar f tn At the same time, I want him to be an enjoyable student for his teachers. Any advice on how to re-direct his hyperactive behavior in the classroom would be greatly appreciated.
