1532322 tn?1292178743 I would like to know how you cope with anxiety of driving in snow & icey conditions! I am extremly fearful of the snow &ice .
Avatar f tn To overcome anxiety, one must understand the logic of why the brain is feeling threatened, it sends messages to the body saying its under threat. New pathways need to be created to overcome the old programming. So for example, if you panic over a fear of flying, you must start flying and let the brain realise that its all okay, and reprogram the thoughts. However, the fear of dying can't really be practiced. Some buddhists meditate in a morgue as it is the closest we can get to dying.
Avatar f tn Talk this over with your parents so they can get you therapy to learn how to break free of this fear. Good luck and take care!
Avatar n tn I have had a toothache/facepain for over two weeks, I know I need to go and see a dentist but I have a great fear of going because of cetain circumstances that happened while going to the dentist as a child. I have been taking advil for the pain and most times it is tolerable but now it seems to be getting worse as it is keeping me awake at night.
1074864 tn?1256932915 You are not actually fearful of driving or travelling itself, but rather the fear of losing control if you have another panic attack. This is because when we have a panic attack, the first thing we want to do is to retreat to our "safe place", which for most people is our home. The further away from our comfort zone, the more uncomfortable we feel.
3159640 tn?1430907300 Thank you so much. I was able to overcome driving OCD by not giving into rituals and it worked. I hope I can do the same for this. It is just that I imagine so many scenarios, like the people before me using the napkin dispenser must have been hiv pos drug users who planted a needle there..... silly I know.
Avatar f tn reading about it dont help it will just heighten your anxiety, the recorded deaths are tragic, but in comparrison to the success rate of themit do put it in to a prospective, just tell your fears to the person who is going to give you the needle ask any questions you need to ask and remember they cannot force you to have anything done that you dont wish to have done.
Avatar f tn Have you tried focused slow breathing, walking, aromatherapy, acupuncture, massage, redirect by doing something? Also...low Vitamin D3 and magnesium can contribute to anxiety and depression.

Avatar f tn The thing is sometimes I do feel like I dont have anything and I believe it, but when I get sick or see/feel something wrong on my body , I quickly associate it to HIV. I want to get pass it but it seems that I can never remove that fear because I always think of a "what if" I know for sure the condom never broke plus the last sex worker was straight foward that she was clean and recommended me a place if I ever needed to test for std , instructing me also to be careful with girls.
Avatar f tn m sorry you feel this way and have such great fear of snow. While it is reasonable to have fear of driving in snow---- perhaps you are talking about the level of your reaction? I know that I too do not like driving in snow. I live in an area where there is often ice beneath it and have had a few bad driving experiences. So . .. I get my groceries (like EVERYONE else, wow, our grocery is packed if there is bad weather in the forecast . . .
Avatar f tn I haven't always had a fear of snow or ice driving until the recent past few years. If I am not in the driver's seat, I can't control the anxiety. If I am in the driver's seat, it's much, much worse. My panic starts the minute we start moving.
Avatar m tn their is no chance of HIV without condom breakage...to overcome your fears ...take a test....taking a test can come out of fear 99% than googing...

My cornea continues to show signs of improvement. In November a topography exam showed my astigmatism at 7.53 and in late January at just .53. Avatar n tn I have developed a fear of heights that has interfered with my ability to enjoy my favorite winter sport...snow skiing. The anxiety produced when confronted with height creates what is near panic. The fear only exhibits itself primarily on the ground and outside.. I do not have a fear of flying in a jet airplane or inside tall buildings. It has become a real problem for me to enjoy skiing.

Avatar m tn You think about who you could contact to go with you to these treatments, how you get there, how you get back. how you would tell your boss and who could step in to do the work at your job while you are absent. The steps you would take sequentially to arrange your private affairs. Steps you would take to do something you had always wanted to do but have never got around to. Think about what you would do if the treatment worked--what special things might you do to celebrate.
Avatar m tn Get on anxiety treatment. I think you would benefit from a low dose of xanax (0.25mg)or (0.5mg) about 15 minutes before your gonna drive. But take it a couple times before bed to see how much it affects you and/or to build tolerance to the heavy sedating effect that is possible. Or a weaker benzodiazepine would work. See a doctor.
