Avatar f tn Have you ever done therapy, or just relied on medication? Remember, the drugs don't cure you, they just work on your symptoms, so they don't eliminate the need to find a good therapist. If therapy works, and there's not guarantee about that, you might learn to think differently. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Also, since depression in this case is a response to not wanting to be in a state of fear or panic (and obviously a continuous state of panic for that matter), this is why the depression is always there and always preventing me from being in that situation.
Avatar f tn Depression is a very hard battle to fight. Post part um depression is also very much real and nothing to play with. Start by trying to think positive, this is hard to do but you must even if it is posting notes to yourself every where. The toilet seat, mirrot, front door, fridge..every where you frequent. Things that are worth being happy for, things that make you smile or things you have been blessed with.
Avatar f tn Chronic anxiety, social phobias, post-traumatic stress syndrome, etc. are normal parts of the day-to-day life, and it is necessary to learn how to get rid of them rather than living with them. It's normal to get anxious before addressing a group of people or stress out before your first meeting with a new client.
Avatar f tn So, I'm going to stick to the topic of depression and anxiety. That's what this is about since I see that you've asked about the risk associated with your activity and have been firmly answered that it was not a risk. So, the mental health part of your issue. That's huge. Irrational fear stems from anxiety. Health anxiety is a real thing. Yours is attached to these two sexual encounters but it is basically health anxiety.

1664673 tn?1303042173 It did make me feel like everything was a okay but soon that feeling faded and I was more nervous than ever. You have to deal with your depression and anxiety, this is probably the reason for you using/abusing drugs. You say you are on zoloft, did you feel it is working for you? Perhaps you need to see another doctor and try a different anti-dep. I wish I knew how to make those cravings go away, I too feel them no matter how long I stay away from my DOC.
4971738 tn?1390565384 It is a battle field of the mind but we have to overcome it and not let our adversities, trials and sufferings overcome us. We have to remind ourselves of this daily that we will overcome it and not be overcome'd! Just know you are worthy of happiness and peace. Do you have any interest that can help you deal with some of your emotions? I used to do art and fishing. This always relaxed me and the art helped with release my feeling.
Avatar m tn but dont know how to overcome my own problem... Please let me know what should I do to overcome my depression.......very tough to get this out of my brain !!! If there is a problem there must be a solution or way which will relieve me from mental tension !!!

Avatar f tn Talk this over with your parents so they can get you therapy to learn how to break free of this fear. Good luck and take care!
Avatar f tn They think im overreacting but Im genuinely afraid of labor and failure at parenting. I dont know what to expect, I dont know how to be a mom, I dont know how to deal with pain, Im just so clueless and it scares me to death. How do I calm down?! How did any of you first time moms deal with the fear?! I just want to be excited like everyone else but Im too overwhelmed to be positive. How do I cope with the fear?!?
Avatar n tn I cant tell you how to overcome this but i do suffer depression and im on medication. Im only 9 weekd gone but ive already had 3 kids so i can tell you that labour for me is the easiest bit about been pregnant. The 9 months leading up to it are usually hell. Already in the past few weeks ive noticed myself not chatting to my friends as much as normal and a few times a week no curtains get opened in the house etc. But ive never feared labour so i cant advise on this.
Avatar m tn You are always protected....their is no chance of HIV without condom breakage...to overcome your fears ...take a test....taking a test can come out of fear 99% than googing...

Avatar f tn i just wanted to ask everyone how they dealt with their depression and if anyone wanted to talk about it. I'm not into taking medication. i think sharing with people going through something similar helps though.
Avatar n tn I have been taking advil for the pain and most times it is tolerable but now it seems to be getting worse as it is keeping me awake at night. Avatar f tn reading about it dont help it will just heighten your anxiety, the recorded deaths are tragic, but in comparrison to the success rate of themit do put it in to a prospective, just tell your fears to the person who is going to give you the needle ask any questions you need to ask and remember they cannot force you to have anything done that you dont wish to have done.
Avatar m tn I also realize that fear is a response to danger and that since there is no danger, there is no reason to fear this thought about my nose (as well as all these other thoughts I'm having). But even so, this has absolutely no effect whatsoever against these thoughts. So I have a very important question here which is that people who do have treatment resistant depression are people who never get better and never fully recover.
Avatar f tn I was told by my dr's that yes head trauma can be a cause of mental problems because of something to do with the nerves and neuroconducters (?). It can also cause cognitive problems, memory problems and some other things so please talk to your doctor about this. I'm sorry you've had to go through this; if you haven't go talk to someone and get help if you're going through depression or other mental health issues. I wish I had gone years ago but ignored my problems.
Avatar n tn In asking how to have a normal life, you treat your underlying mental health condition. Medication and therapy is best approach.
Avatar m tn Agreed. But some of these fears can be overcome. Puppies and chicks tend to be fast moving. Find the right kind of puppy at a pound or store, and I bet his response will be different.
Avatar f tn Lately I've been feeling really suicidal due to family issues and other personal problems. The stress of work and school on top of that kills me. I feel sick to my stomach and I have headaches constantly. I really want to end it all but I'm too scared to actually act upon my thoughts. I can't afford therapy and I'm at my wits end. I don't want to take depression medication because that only is going to cover up my issues. How can I overcome depression without therapy?
