Common Questions and Answers about How to make a swollen eye go down

swollen

I do not have time to go to the Doctor until tomorrow afternoon and am getting upset and concerned over this. I don't know how to make the swelling go down-- it is very extreme. Any suggestions on how to make this stop?
Sometimes I was thinking could be the make up..but during the day I am fine when my make up is on and before I go to bed I take it off and wake up with the red eye..etc? also can you be allergic to baby wipe, that I use to take my make up off? Anyway it's really annoying how can I find out what I am allergic to?
Is there any chance you could arrange to have your children go to a friend's house? A relative or a friend? At least then you wouldn't have to put on a show for the kids. I'd tell you not to try to disguise it but I do the same thing. I know you don't want to go to the ER but that may be your best option. Could you have the pain management doctor's office call the ER and explain the situation? Or fax a letter over to the ER explaining? That may help to not be seen as a drug seeker.
my mom is so upset, but my dad is upbeat, its scary even though dad and i have never seen eye to eye. i have been called in regarding my x-rays i had done and now she wants me to come in to talk about them, what does this mean. this injury i have has been so painful and i can't even function properly and i can barely work, which now i need too cause we have a family business, and my dad has to be careful now.
I don't want to go to a doctor and then be told all I needed to do was stick some ice on it.
The pain seems to go down into my neck from the back of my eye. It can be a dull pain around the back of my eye, or more and more lately, its a piercing pain. My glands in my neck are swollen and I have constant nasal mucus drip in my throat. The musuc drip is mostly white. My vision seems the same, however I have always been extelemely myopic (-16). I have been to the GP and ENT, waiting to get back to the Opthamalogist in a couple of weeks. The ENT did a sinus CT and nothing major showed.
I have booked an appt. with my eye doctor to get a referral to a Ophthamologist.....I am going to take this route.....I cannot remember if the immunity test that I had this summer would show anything to do with arthritis. I am awaiting results from the bone scan which was done this past Sat., which I guess will show that....I am a healthy person, although it would sound otherwise :), but I am determined to get to the bottom of this.....do you know if Retisan is sold in Canada?
Has anyone ever had swollen turbinates with pressure around eyes and swelling under eyes? My left eye has quite a bit of swelling with a purplish tint to it and my right eye has some swelling but not as much as the left. I feel devistated that this has changed my appearance and I was wondering if surgery has helped anyone with this particular problem.
U work in an office setting, and I am sure it has florescent lights which can affect us, make us dizzy and nauseated,..... My eye Dr suggested a tinted pair of glasses to help with the light sensitivity. And u may want to go back part time, and slowly work ur way back to full time.....FMLA is set up for that ....so ask about it.
I'm ready to try anything, i'd of hunted down 'eye of newt' if there was even a slim chance it would work, looking for the T. tree now....ah use by date oct 2009, on second thoughts i'll go to the chemist tomorrow lol. Ess- You are right, of course your right your always right :-) hmmm I seem to attack my self in my sleep, I wake up scratching lol can you get baby mittens in adult sizes.
I could never get the washcloth warm enough for a long enough time to seem to make any difference. When I went back, he gave me Azasite to try and help the problem. Again, that did nothing. I HATE how my eye looks. I am only 35 years old and I feel like I'm 50 now. My face is no longer symmetrical (my Dr. said, "it's not that noticeable") It is!!! Is there anything else I can do? Any other suggestions? My OD said it was a chalesian???
I know it is going to be soon. I just want to say how important it is to let go if you have to. I surely want to go and make him get up and run around like we used to. sad can't even explain what I am going through. I love this man so much, and am glad I told him it was okay to go......
I said cirrohsis caused swelling in more parts than just the stomach. Then someone with cirrohsis said they only had a swollen stomach, no where else. I'm going to quit playing dr!
If you have it, you can be treated with antibiotics. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I have to get a diagnosis. My presentation wasn't "typical" Lyme, but there truth is, there is no such thing as typical Lyme symptoms. Some people get arthritic symptoms, and others have neurological, nervous system and/or heart symptoms. Anxiety and panic attacks can be a symptom of an underlying disease, and if you don't start feeling better, I think it's worth further investigation.
This is not the type of question that allows us to even make generalities. You need to be under the care of a group of physicians that can deal with this complex problem. We cannot give you any information that would be helpful to you.
A neighbor offered to do some pruning, but neglected to tell me he had no idea HOW to do it ... AAaa-rgh! He was "artistic" and "creative." Sometimes I think i may have to bulldoze the whole thing and start over ... well, I don't have a bulldozer, but you know what I mean.
I went to the opthamologist and he said that my eye muscles are swollen but it is not causing damage to my eye. Does anyone know if this means I have Graves/Thyroid eye disease? I asked him but he got off track and didnt really answer my question. He says that it might go back to normal once my thyroid is under control but everytime I take the meds, my vision gets so much worse. Im stuck in a rut. I hate the meds and im a horrible person to be around when I am on them.
It cleared for a few weeks, but my left eye was still a bit swollen. I went to a dermatologist, she did a patch test to test for chemicals that touch the skin. I was allergic to a few so when I got home, I got rid off it all. I thought I had some answers. I bought all organic and 100% pure cosmetics. My eye lid started to swell up and the next day, I could hardly open my left eye. It was so swollen, the skin rolled down. It's been a nightmare ever since.
You don't necessarily have to have Hashi or Graves' to have TED thyroid eye disease. Thyroid eye disease has its own antibodies that attack the eyes just as autoimmune thyroid antibodies attack the thyroid. Although the two antibodies are very close, some calling them cousins. None of the treatment options will avoid the eye disease if you develop it. TED can attack the eyes at any time and as many times as it likes. The only way to minimize any risk is to keep our stress.
I have had to drain a similar infection before when a vet was not available. I am a former military paramedic and had a fairly good idea how to do it. Brings instant relief to the dog. The swelling has gone down significantly and has almost returned to normal state. We have yet to see if there is a solid mass the size of a hens egg which was under her jaw before it started to grow, and to ascertain whether that initial lump was a calcified lump from a previous abcess or a swollen gland.
My husband gets this in both eyes off and on and he said that he forces himself to burb and he says the burbs are deep down and it makes it go away. When he was a teenager he said that sometimes the bus would stop at Burger King and aftertaste he first experienced the kaleidoscope effect. Indigestion seems to be his link!
My biggest concern now is i still get heart palpatations, chest pain and now for the past week I can't breath, cant get enough oxygen, this has happened to me before and eventually I got back to normal, i don't know is it underlying stress that is causing this breathlessness??? I don't have a racing heart, and i'm not really worried about anything! I'm afraid to go back to the dr's just for them to think that i am a hypocondriact,my file must be huge with all the visits.
when picturing this you have to keep in mind the edema i had all over my face, eyelids and we can't forget the lips ( i didn't want those to go down they were the prefect Angelina Jolie lips, but they wouldn't let keep them sighhhh oh well) anyways all the first stuff then the leg thing a week later they ran some blood will i was in the hospital again and that is when they thought I had Lupus. The booked me with a rhuemy and next thing you know i have lupus.
I forgot to ask did your CA levels ever go down.
I am starting to go down a little bit. Now my sugar is LOW. I have the shakes. I feel as though I can see the refresh rate on the computer screen.
It is unlikely to be HFCS. Allergy to cats or other environmental factors is a possibility, as are certain hereditary and acquired disorders of the eyelids/eyes. The concern is that they may have not diagnosed your problem adequately and without being able to examine your eyes, we can't tell what exactly the cause of the problem is. Maybe if you gave more details: How long does the swelling last? How often does it happen? is your eye red or itchy at the same time as the swelling? etc.
I did some reading up on this and it also seems to coincide with the fact that when I was on Biaxin they got much better and flared back up only 3 days after stopping the Biaxin. I must have an infection; I am going to go to the ophthalmologist tomorrow!! Thank you, Thank You!!! Knowing what this is will help me get it under control ..
Last time my eyelid swelled shut on that side. I also had to get my eye checked last time to make sure the virus wasn't in my eye. I started my anti-virals asap. What scares me is how the pain seems to travel in a line down my face into my throat. I have also read about encephilitis (sp?) from the herpes virus. Does anyone have any advice on this?
Keep applying for jobs, you need to get away from this awful work place as soon as possible. I presume you cannot afford to leave the job unless you have a new job to go to. The works place is very unhealthy. I'm surprised you are all not in hospital suffering from pneumonia.
It does''t get itchy, just swollen and it can take 1 hour to and entire day to go back down to normal. Just uncomfortable, really.
