Avatar f tn I had other side effects from birth control so I decided to get off of it and the acne returned. I tried everything OTC for acne. I even tried proactive and it did nothing for me. So then I realized it was related to my hormones. I found a natural treatment. It's an herb called vitex fruit. It can take a couple of your cycles to take affect. It works by balancing your hormones naturally with your pituitary gland. It had natural estrogen properties.

But I've been making sure I clean my face 3 times a day, morning noonish and before bed. I then use clearasil vanishing acne cream. It works good! I have noticed, that the oil from my face gets on my pillow case and if I don't wash it twice a week, I break out more.

I didn't know what cause it, but I put plenty of moisturizers on it and by the afternoon, it had all but disappeared.
