1108576 tn?1265846011 I am 15 and have had eczema my whole life, recently I have been able to get it under control but I still have these leathery patches on my ankles that wont go away! I don't itch there anymore but its still very scaly and doesn't even feel like normal skin (not soft at all) Will it ever go away? If so how can I speed up the process?
Avatar f tn looked at definitions and descriptions online, lichen sclerosus seems unlikely however lichen simplex could be it. i dont notice it itching at all but, i do masturbate frequently, almost daily for years. could i have given myself lichen simplex from over masturbation and irritated the area? this of course is embarrassing to admit but most often i masturbate with the aid of an electric toothbrush... would that have caused the irritation over the years? and how do i get it to go away??
Avatar m tn The thing is that I never really had outbreaks of eczema (to my knowledge) prior to this year. Is it possible for someone to randomly develop a case of eczema later on in life? Much appreciated!
495402 tn?1220617403 My doctor was the one who diagnosed it for me, she looked at it and seemed to know right away what it was. She said my immune system is compromised due to the riba/peg and this can cause it and the cold weather doesn't help either. She told me about the T-gel shampoo and also told me to pick up this type of hydrocorisone spray (I forget the name) that will help me get it under control. I used some last night after I got out of the shower and it didn't itch all night.
Avatar f tn s a complex carb, a simple sugar, or fruit, you are feeding the yeast in your body. To keep it under control you need to limit sugar intake and make sure you are feeding the good flora in your body (probiotic).
Avatar m tn Hi all, i hope someone may be able to help. For many years i have had eczema and around a year ago got prescribed a very greas cream it seems to work ok but now my problem is Cysts. I have one on the end of my nose been there about 3-4 months now! Ive now realised i feel another 2 or coming by the side of my nostril on my face, i heard it could be oily greasy skin that causes cysts.
Avatar n tn If you are having a flare up that is uncomfortable, you can and should always visit your doctor. If it's eczema, that can be hard to control- so many things can contribute to the flare ups. You always want to be sure you are using a fragrance free laundry detergent, you may also just try to switch brands to see if that helps- even if you are using a fragrance free one already.
Avatar f tn s becoming a problem and seems to be getting slightly worse. any ideas on what it may be and how i can get rid of it without spending that much money on going to a doctor for a prescription just yet?

Avatar f tn Could it be eczema or something else? I have never had eczema, so this would seem weird to me if it is and to just have it in one isolated spot. Should I see my doctor? Thank you!
Avatar f tn It will get better and seem to go away only to come back. I have tried to see if I was allergic to something but I cant figure it out. It itches and burns and nothing I put on it helps. The doc put me on antibiotics for 10 days and it helped alittle but came back. My skin will flake after it starts to get better and then it will start all over. I thought maybe rosacea but I am not sure. I wanted to try some things before I went to a dermatolgist.

Avatar n tn I used cortizone to control it (which it did initially) then used a number of creams and gels to keep the area hydrated. I am convinced that this did some long term damage to my eye area and still have problems with them now. I came to the conclusion it was the eye make up i was using that initally caused the skin to get irritated. There are harsh chemicals in them that can cause allergic reactions.
Avatar m tn These are available under prescription. Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. I hope this helps Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I used it as a moisturizer for several months because it really helped control my eczema. my skin felt great for about 6months. However, after applying the Vaseline to my face a few nights ago i noticed that my eczema was actually worse in the morning. I believe the vaseline caused the redness and inflammation because I did not apply any other product to my face-- no makeup or lotions and I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary.
Avatar n tn I have got two diagnoses, the chronic paronychia and chronic eczema. Can you tell how to identify the chronic paronychia or chronic eczema on the finger? What topical medications are effective for the chronic paronychia and/or chronic eczema? Thank you for your answer.
