You can choose to have a relationship with her but you are correct--it is his responsibility to tell his mother when the baby is born. If u file paternity then he has to pay & he has rights to visitation with his child. If you're in U.S. then your state may have grandparents rights as well. You should investigate that possibility.

Your in Baltimore~ It's federal law if your employer has more than 50 employees that he/she offer maternity leave of MINIMUM 6w for normal birth, 8w for csection. There's also a provision I believe that says you can get up to a month off DURING your pregnancy, as well as extra breaks if you deal with Morning sickness. etc.

There were some close calls, where I just about jumped a plane, but I stayed and didn't ruin the progress I have made, barely. I am glad I did, now, I have owned up to my part, my family have come to terms with their part and my condition and past, and now we are a team working for our future again.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have a beautiful, 7 year old daughter adopted from Russia. She has been diagnosed with ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome among possible other drug use in vitro. She was abandoned twice by her birth mom before the age of one and in an orphanage in Russia until about the age of two. We adopted her and divorced less that a year later. We have joint custody almost 50/50. She is physically healthy and learns very well. She seems a little immature for her age more like a 5-6 year old.
Avatar n tn t the fault of the parents as they have to live their lives, but being empathetic as to how it affects the kids involved is important during the transitions. I'd make sure that step dad tries to be more friend like than father like as he like most boys would probably resent that. It is fair to tell him he can't call names and cuss. But you need to have somewhere for him to go with this anger. Somewhere posative, and I'm thinking that is a sport or art or something.

And just as a courtesy I make sure I have shorter lunch and coffee breaks and put in an additional 10-15 mins at work as and when possible! Half-truth is definitely working for me!

My entire family is either dead from addiction, in jail or in recovery. I guess I'm going to do door number 3 ha! Saying a prayer for you now.

I just can't handle the stupidity. When I was 16-20 the last thing on my mind was babies. Yikes! To each their own, but I don't feel bad for these girls getting pregnant and then complaining about their worthless baby daddies.
