Acne scars and scars in general will fade over time. Many times we worry about marks on our skin and think everyone notices them or looks at them, when it is only us who pay attention to these "imperfections" we have. Truthfully, no one else really cares about the small scars everyone has, as no one has perfect skin. Plus, if the picture you have up is you, you can't notice a thing and you look pretty. I am being honest.

I have a huge acne scar on my laugh line on my left cheek, The skin has been peeling off, but it still gets irritated easily and makes the scar look red. Will this prevent the scar from healing? Is this part of the healing process? It burns when I put any products on it and when I touch the area. It has been over a week since I first had the mark, but usually my scars don't get irritated so easily after a week. They are usually gone by then. Should I be worried that this might never fade?

My boyfriend teases me to but to only to get me to laugh at myself because I get in that mods where I'm like I am huge and ugly and no one loves me lol.

I also have some scars in my face, like tiny holes because of acne. besides the treatment i´m already in to eliminate them, is there anything else I can do to accelerate the process of removing them?

This could an allergic reaction, acne, eczema... Have you had allergy testing done? Have you ever let your face breathe? What I mean by that is, have you ever gone a week without wearing makeup? Makeup is the worst thing in the world for acne. It is also the main culprit in allergic reactions on the face. Ask any actress...they'll be the first to tell you how bad their acne is from the makeup that they have to wear...so they plaster even more on to hide it...sad but true.

I never used to have to use makeup, now I have to, in order to cover up the scars. I wear long shirts so no one can see my belly and long sleeves to hide my arms. My husband still thinks I'm cute and sexy, but when I look in a mirror I don't see it. I want a tummy tuck, but can't afford it and it probably wouldn't do much good anyway. There is also meant to be medical makeup available now specifically for people who self harm or have unsightly scars, I seen a video online of a girl being taught how to best apply it and conceal her scars best, but goodness knows where it's available and you'd probably go through a lot if both arms are scarred. Plus it isnt really long term. Your scars are a part of who you are, but I understand that you dont want them to define you.

I want to never have to wear makeup again, but i cant leave the house without a mound of makeup on not only to cover the acne but to cover up the extreme purple and red scarring its left behind. I want to think that there are other people like me out there, but i never see them.

I know people who have covered up scars with tattoos, but that kind of sounds like a lot of scars to cover. Unfortunately there will technically always be a scar there where your skin is indented no matter what pattern you put over it.

I have bad acne as well.. I tried many things.. but nothing works everything I use made it worse... now I have a lot of acne scares and stuff.. nothings will work because of the hormones.. my doctor told me to just use something mild to wash my face.. so now I use clean and clear daily wash... I still have the acne scars.. I hate seem them and my self esteem is really low... I don't go out.. If I do I put on a lot of makeup...

I have what sounds like that sebaceous cyst on my cheek, I had one surgically removed from my back last year. As it sounds, it doesn't appear to necessary to remove it, but is it ok to cover with a little makeup ? Or will that aggravate it in some way ?

I was hospitalized with pneumonia in July. My lungs collapsed so I was hooked up to a life support machine with a tube inserted into my mouth going down to what i imagine must have been my lungs. The drs.induced a coma and I was sedated for about 2 1/2 weeks, with my ar ms bound to the bed so i wouldn't pull the breathing tube out. I was hospitalized a total of 25 days. When they took all the medical tape off my face i was left with what im assuming is acne.

I have had a few tattoos placed to cover scars that I've got & the only thing I can say is the normal pain of a tattoo is nothing compared to tattooing a scar... it hurts like hell. A lot of tattoo places won't even try because scar tissue is unpredictable & for some tattoos great, but for others it doesn't take properly & looks worse then the scars themselves. I would try a dermatologist for options & try scar removal options. Bio-Oil may help lighten it.

about a month ago I had a cluster of cold sores on my cheek and they have completely gone away, but they have left a very noticeable scar. I went to CVS and picked up some storebrand scar cream and I've been putting it on everyday but I'm nervous it wont do anything to make the scar go away. It's pretty big and I can cover it up with makeup....

I haven't had thyroid surgery yet so I'm not sure exactly how this will work for some but it is worth a try. I have tattoos that are in visible spots but work a corporate job so for work I cover them with dermablend makeup. Its the only thing I've found that blends well but still does a great cover up job. Never put toothpaste on your skin!! If not taken care of this can leave a permanent scar. I burnt my skin last weekend, using toothpaste. The only thing I did was put aloe vera on the burn a couple of times a day. Do not put vaseline, or toner or any kind of cleanser as it will only irritate the skin further. Don't try to cover it with makeup. The very next day my burn started pealing off and now it is completely gone.

Does anyone know about the scarring after-effects of accutane? I've read several reports of scarring left after it's use. I'm sure that scars are to be expected, as with any open wound, but I don't know if these reports are by anyone with abnormalities with healing/scarring. Here is the situation... I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.

I have never had an acne problem. I get the usual 4 or 5 about a week before AF is due. This month my face broke out with the normal 4 or 5 zits about 2 weeks before AF and then today 6 days after AF arrived. I'm still bleeding and my face is a mess. But it may be that you need to experiment with brands of make-up or see a dermatologist and/or a make-up place to get ideas. I went to both - the derm was expensive (more so!) and so can be make-up but at least the make up is or can be a bit more fun! I hate wearing make up... I never did.

Can anyone recommend an acne treatment for those cystic acne bumps that take forever to go away? I'm 46 and did Accutane in my 20s with pretty good results until the last several years. I've had the most success with Pro Active, but my skin got really itchy when I wore mineral powder makeup and I kept ruining towels, pillowcases and shirts. I've also tried Acne Free, Murad and Dermatologic plus prescription cream with no luck.

These scars are somewhat circular, not very deep but visible, and about one tenth of an inch or slightly smaller. I have no idea how to stop them from appearing or to how to treat them. Any help is appreciated!

I got bad acne with my first baby and discovered that baby wash was the only thing that helped.. now I'm pregnant with my 4th and my skin is clear.. maybe it'll work for you too!
