At $1,000 per pill, Sovaldi costs 1,100% more than Stribild, the most-expensive AIDS combo drug on the market. In addition, Gilead is charging a higher price for this drug even though the cost to produce it is small. According to industry reports, Gilead produces Sovaldi for approximately $1.00 per gram (with only 10 to 30 grams needed to successfully treat patients with Hepatitis C).

Avatar m tn Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.
Avatar n tn hello, i was wondering how much it cost for my cat to get his 2nd booser shots and how much the cost is to fix him
Avatar f tn Everything is relative-- but yes, that is a large dose. Consider that Percocet tablets-- medications used to treat surgical pain in dose ranges of 1-2 every 4 hours-- contain 5-10 mg of oxycodone. You are taking the equivalent of 70 of the 5 mg tabs every day, when the dose after major surgery would be on the order of 5-10 tablets per day. The largest dose I've seen in a patient addicted to oxycodone is about 700 mg per day.
Avatar m tn 00 plus the 200mcg of copegas was $6.00 per pill. So with that in mind 1 shot per week and 1200mcg of ribavirin it costs about $852.00 per week time 48 weeks comes to $40896.00 just for the meds. GSDgirl - I'm on a clinical trial right now and they pay me $25.00 per visit and the Tests, Pegasys, Copegas and PI is free. Anything required outside of the trial I have to pay for like rescues and stuff. I did have to fill out a tax form so I guess I'll get a 1099 at the end of the year.
197575 tn?1215532624 My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.
Avatar f tn How long does the internal shaking last? I, of all people, cannot believe I let this happen to myself. How long are withdrawals using 1/2 - 2 per day for 3 years. ANYONE??
Avatar f tn Does an ultrasound cost in your city or town. In India it's like Rupees 600-1000.
Avatar m tn I saw this yesterday, printed it out and have read it several times. And I'll probably have to read it several more before I can completely wrap my head around it. The good news, as I see it, is the clarity it brings to the subject of actual cost of new medications to payers. "The $1000 dollar pill" or the "$1125 pill" has gotten so much play in the media. (Doctors aren't immune to this nor are many who work in the insurance industry.
Avatar m tn Without having insurance, it sure was VERY expensive from paying for the doctor visit each month to paying 11$ per pill. But that cost was nothing for getting my life back and getting the chase, the counting, the paranoia, the stealing, the lying, allll of that out of my life. So after I've written a novel, what I'd like to tell you is that it isn't for everyone. But it is a life saver for some of us. I hope you make the decision best for you and I wish you luck.
1080427 tn?1256072953 this wasnt everyday because i was paying $30 a pill. regardless of how much your taken, its gonna suck! the best advice i can give you is,your a slave to the pills! they own your ***, think about it,you are not in charge! regaining the power is friggin awesome, not easy but absolutely the balls! people say take baths, walk, ect, ect! try to stay busy,in this heat i know it *****! there is life without pills trust me,im a pill head and i love being free!
Avatar f tn My Endo used a special "dirty room" in another building. She didn't want to contaminate the exam rooms. I mean, she used a different building in another part of town. Treatment cost depends on the dose of I 131. I was charged $30 per unit, and given twelve units, or mirocuries, or whatever. A low dose. The doctor's services were around $300, so the whole thing was around $700 for me. Not sure how that compares with the experience of others.
Avatar f tn , max 3 per day (disc. issue that has improved recently) , decided to quit and took my last pill on Sunday night...its been pretty rough yesterday and today. I never thought that I would be physically addicted with what I thought was low dosage. My question is do you think I should taper (down to 1 per day for a week, then down to 1/2 per day for a week) or should I ride it out. I'm definitely out of the game one way or another, any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Sorry I don't have Kaiser health insurance, maybe someone else here does, but those prices sound about right. Those are your "co-pay costs", the "actual cost" is thousands of dollars per month as you have heard. I had Blue Cross of California during treatment and my co-pay cost were similar to the prices you quoted.
1264863 tn?1391118193 If you are only taking 8 pills a day you are below the daily max dose. Percocet have 325mg per pill. So you are taking 2600mg of acetaminophen. They say nowadays not to go above 3000mg and it use to be 4000mg. So I wouldn't worry about it. Just continue tapering down and you will be taking less and less acetaminophen.
