197575 tn?1215532624 My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.
Avatar m tn Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.
Avatar m tn What is the cost of 4th generation hiv elisa test for antibodies in srl diagnostics..
1831849 tn?1383228392 Most of us are at the mercy of docs and insurance companies when it comes to our treatment. We are often asked to undergo treatment or tests without knowing much about the cost to us. My Tysabri infusions are billed to the insurance company @$6,000 each. I couldn't get an info on MY cost before I started getting them in November. I started them anyway. My out of pocket for the 4 infusions to date is less than $600, my annual out of network deductible.

Avatar n tn Please tell me rapid test after 8 months from ur last risk is enough to have an 100% accurate result or how accurate are hiv rapid testing people here are talked about ELISA test but no information are available on rapid testing coz what upto my knowledge is rapid test take 15 min. to get the result and ELISA test give result in 5 days atleast i ment to say that long period result means more accurate test rather then test conducted in 15 or 20 minuts.
Avatar m tn 02) and a (LabCorp ELISA) high positive HSV-1 (28.1) I tried to get a Western Blot test. My local Quest does not offer that option, but they referred me to LabCorp with the following test number: 138487 I proceeded to get a request from my GP and blood samples were taken. I am now waiting for results. Experts: Could you please confirm that this is actually the Western Blot?
Avatar n tn Dr. EWH, My girlfriend and I tested for hiv and my girlfriend got the result back today. The result says "negative" and in "reference range" column states "nonreactive". It says that test was "hiv 1/2 ABS /W RFLX CONFIRMATION". It also says hiv-1/hiv-2 ABS ELISA. Does that mean ELISA was done first and then confirmed with something else? Or does it mean that it was confirmed by another test because the result of ELISA wasn't good?
Avatar m tn s your take in the cost differential? why do you think is it so much cheaper for me to get an antibody test in my country as supposed to people living in US? maybe government subsidy or something?...
Avatar f tn The test result for HSV1 is pretty much definitive. To test higher than 8 is as close to proof that the virus is present. A test result of 2.9 has been shown to be ambiguous with perhaps of the order of 1/4 of people with such a result actually being negative for the virus. These people have some proteins unrelated to HSV2 that stick to the testing antigen and produce the result. Some believe some of the HSV1 antibodies could stick also.
Avatar n tn It is also our policy that every person who requests a HIV PCR test also have a standard HIV Elisa test at the same time at no additional cost to you. The standard AIDS test is an Elisa test, which tests for the antibodies your body makes for the AIDS virus. This test is the standard test used by hospitals and blood banks in America and the world. Positive tests are confirmed with a second test called the Western blot, which also analyzes the body's antibody response.
Avatar f tn I called a hotline with a testing lab in the area...they said they have a test that they can do after 29 days but the cost was twice as much, like 229 dollars. Are they talking about an RNA test? and are the reputable????? and thank you for your propt response.
523927 tn?1257018704 So does anyone ever prove positive with the ELISA test? It seems everyone is against it. I see a rheumy on Tuesday and just want to know how to handle telling her I want to be tested for Lyme disease. I see that Igenex is highly recommended but does insurance cover it? Bluecross Blueshield for me. What if the doc has never heard of Igenex? I live in Colorado where few cases have been reported, so I'm probably going to end up with a non-LLMD no matter what.
