My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.

Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.

If you have hypertension, which is controlled, I would GUESS, (and that is ALL it is) that your insurance company would be OK with that since millions of folks have both insurance AND high blood pressure. I have no idea how they would look at someone with ADHD even if it IS controlled. But your question was, "would the ins. company look at the med. and consider it a mental disorder?

The inital consultation was the biggest expense ($280). But after that my follow up appointments only cost $100 (every other month). With adderall the pharmacy charges the same price per pill regardless of the dose. So, I have my doctor write proscriptions for 2x the dose and cut them in half. Using a proscription discount card brings my cost down to $43 dollars for two months of the pills. So, my total cost paying out of pocket is about $2 a day.

Since he has now done such, I will give it some more time to see if the Adderall xr also will help him with actual schoolwork. Basically, its stronger then ritalin and not as strong as adderall. Your doc is starting you off low and slow and thats a good thing. It does take some trial and error to find out what works best. Yes the epogen alone - which i was on for 69 weeks, half the time at two doses a week cost at $6000 a box of ten at least $60,000 for just that one med. And that is a lowball estimate. Plus Ambien, Synthroid, Paxill, Fluticozane and whichever I'm forgetting aside from normal daily meds like Advil and Tylenol.
