How many hours does adderall xr last

Common Questions and Answers about How many hours does adderall xr last

People metabolize the xr so differently, some people it lasts 9-10 hours, for me it last around 5-6hrs...If you think of xr this way you are essentially getting 2 15mg doses 4 hours apart with the 30mg xr. I tried 2 30mg xr, but I prefer the flexibility of combining the two types of adderall. Hope this helps !!!
According to the regulatory agency, they received safety information concerning the association of sudden deaths, heart-related deaths, and strokes in children and adults taking recommended doses of adderall and adderall xr. This risk of adderall death seemed particularly high for individuals with structural heart abnormalities. In response to these findings, the FDA issued an advisory warning about the possible risk of death, but allowed the drug to remain on the market.
Adderal is amphetamine. It's xr which will make it last longer. Can anyone bring you EmergenC and Muscle Milk? It doesn't sound like you can drive. how are you feeling now, do you think you are peaking now?
no matter how may steps you matter how many meetings you matter how honest you are in working your recovery. You can not control the effects this medicine does to your mental being. I am so so sorry for people whos stories I read, like me they just had no idea. They trusted their doctors. My doctors they didn't care about my health. in all 13 years not one of the more than 20 doctors ever asked me how the medicine was working for me. Not a single ONE!
Heres a few drugs that I found could possibly help... Focalin xr, Wellbutrin SR, Depakote, Quillivant xr? SRY for the rambling lol see the adderall isn't working that well!
My 12 yr old son has been on adderall for the last several years. We started on concerta but he was loosing weight on those but he also had a rotovirus right after he was put on them. Then we went to straterra (non stimulant) but we didnt see much of a difference then went on to adderall. Recently I have been wanting to take him off the meds if possible... we tried it, tapered him down off of them over a 3 wk period but it doesnt seem to be time for him.
adderall is an amphetamine, and Provigil is not (while it does supposedly activate similar areas in the brain). I have MS and tried Provigil, and I found it to be useless for my fatigue. I found Concerta (time-release Ritalin) to be good and have used adderall successfully. I think I prefer the Concerta, because it doesnt cause my mouth to be so dry. I wouldnt worry about a small increase in dosage like you mention.
I amphetamines do in large quantities, but does that mean that adderall does as well? I also get dry eyes and blurry vision sometimes, but not if I use eyedrops consistently. It really helps me with everything, I jsut wonder if these reactions are ok.
I understand where you are coming from. I take adderall xr 30mg twice a day, and adderall 30mg tablets, I usually break the tablet into four, and only take 1/4 as needed. I am really paranoid all the time, about everything. I also get really nervous when i am in social situations. I have bitten my nails to the point where they actually hurt and look awful.
NO ILLEGAL DRUG COULD HAVE THE WITHDRAWLS OF EFFEXOR! how CAN THEY LEGALIZE DRUGS YOU CAN GET HOOKED ON???? I HAVE NO MONEY FOR THE PILLS (300-400 a month) as I lost my job and health insurance' HERE COMES THE DEPRESSION, CRYING, SUICIDAL THOUGHTS! I am so scared what will happen next! I have been on Effexor for maybe 8 years. They put me on it when I was taking care of my mother whom had cancer. At that time I started having terrible panic attacks. The doc put me on Effexor xr.
And I want to smoke so badly. One minute I'm OK and the next I'm heartbroken and crying. how long does this go on? I can get through this, I just need to know approximately how long it takes to get feeling better.
I take regular adderall, so I'm not sure how long the xr last, but I can only assume it's probably 10-12 hours. Did your doctor recommend that you take both pills at the same time, or your regular 5 mg later in the day? I take 20-30 mg (in 10 mg pills) of adderall, but I have been diagnosed with insomnia (due to another disorder). So I know I shouldn't take my adderall after 5 PM, since it has a life of 3-5 hours, if I want my sleeping pill to work.
I lost 110 lbs in a little under a year on adderall the doc had me on 55mgs of adderall xr daily.... adderall to me is a leagalized form of meth-amphetamines, or "ice" But like someone said before every drug works differently for each person adderall in my case is the only one that works for me. But, drinking on the medications she is taking daily isnt the smartest considering that the alcohol makes the drugs do the opposite they are supposed to.
For people who actually have ADD/ADHD and can benefit from adderall it has a calming effect. Indeed, many people are prescribed adderall/ritalin who do not need it, and this is a major problem. It is also true, as stated by others on this forum that your body develops a tolerance to adderall relatively quickly. As a result, it is typical for prescription amounts to increase rather than decrease (which seemingly the doctor is trying to do here for your friend).
Main one is sleep, I think I slept 3 hours last night and thats turning into the normal. Also weight loss is great but I want it to be safe and so far it's been 9lbs in a week. Advice on eating? Food just doesn't sound good and literally have to choke it down when I do eat. Right now I'm averaging about 400 calories a day and I know that's not healthy. Thanks everyone.
About 6 months later I found out that Shire Pharm's offers a perscription assistance program for adderall xr. My Dr. feels that my level of ADD is on the severe side, so I require a higher than normal dosage, 40 mg/day. I responded somewhat better. I didn't have the huge bursts of energy; I was more level. But over the past 2 months, I feel as if I am no longer responding to adderall xr. It feels like my symptoms of ADD are accelerating. I am not quite sure what the cause is.
Went hypo-manic and couldn't sleep for many days on end (three and four days at a time and only able to sleep a coupld hours before the next round of insomnia) . I should add that every SSRI tried has had same effect for me - am very sensitive to any meds. Only experience with Wellbutrin was at a time when female hormones were also tried leading to severe depression. My solution - I knocked off everything!!!
Also, is the mix of xanax and adderall okay to take? and my last question is, how can i know whether or not i know that its a panic attack and not heart condition? i'm sick of going to the ER and i'm pretty sure they are sick of me. I want to stop the adderall but I really do need it for school and stuff.
I took adderall illegally on and off for a while (buy it from friends). I would use it for studying and various long term attention needed tasks. While I agree it does work, its not what we need. What is ADHD or ADD other than people who can't pay attention? What does it take to pay attention? PRACTICING PAYING ATTENTION! Just like any other thing you want to get better at, it takes practice.
My son takes adderall and like you, I need to go and pick up the prescription every month. She does not require me to bring him in however. Usually we visit every 3 months and we get bloodwork done once a year. The only thing I know about adderall is that it is no longer available as a generic. The company that held the original patent bought the company that made the generic...thus no more generic. So right now, that is my big beef.
She took about 280 -300 mg of adderall all in less than a couple of hours was basically like on speed. She is 120 pounds, 16 years old and is about 5'4''. She couldnt eat and was having panic attacks, and puked, but refused to get help. She wouldnt let me help her and i was afraid of her. She crashed later about 24 hours after her last pill and slept for 13 hours. Then when she woke up on Thursday she went to school without taking her 25 mg cause her heart was still pumping.
MY 8 YR OLD IS ON adderall xr PROZAC STRATTERA AND TRAZODONE. WE JUST STARTED THE adderall xr BUT HE ALSO HAS OVERACTIVE THYROID AND HAND TREMORS THIS DID NOT START UNTIL THEY PUT HIM ON PROZAC 20 mg. adderall xr 5 mg JUST STARTED last WEEK HAVE NOT SEEN NO CHANGES YET . JUST NEED SOME ADVICE ON THESES MEDS. FEEL FREE 2 CONCACT ME THANKS.
Her pediatrician put her on 15mg of adderall xr, she was totally zombified, couldn't function. Then we tried 5mg of adderall xr, after 5 days on the medication, she put her own life in danger as well as mine. For no apparent reason. Now the doctor wants to try Strattera 25mg (isn't that a high dose for a 62lb child) and says if this doesn't work, then maybe she's bipolar. I'm afraid to put her on Strattera, she is asthmatic and also takes Albuterol on occassion.
Positive attitude, healthy lifestyle and education are important parts of being bipolar but that also has to include a sober and intelligent understanding of the realities of the problem, sugar coating it its pointless because the monster is your head no matter what - the best way to fight it is to know how it thinks and works but you are never going to beat it.
So following my post 1. how many started as being depressed first and the AD's drove them manic; thus dx BP 2.
alzandra: "Does anyone else experience really low energy during their hypomanic states?" I am feeling that way right now in fact. I was in the shower earlier, and all of these ideas and questions for posting to this group were coming to me. I had so many great questions that I wanted to ask this group that I felt wow, I have to write this down. Then I wondered hmmm, I must be hypomanic in order for this to be happening.
Well know, I go to work and live life so much more abundantly and happy...and work so many hours...that I am 20 times more productive at work, and not just that, but my whole way of living life has changed. Detox? Programs? Methods?....I have tried them all. I have been in detox 17 times, been in outpatient 12 step programs, outpatient non 12 step programs, AA.
Wow, how great to see a forum on EBV. I was recently diagnosed with EBV after testing positive through blood work and have spent nearly every waking moment on researching it (probably not a good thing but I want to know what is going on with me). I have posted on multiple forums for answers on what could be causing my problems, but it seems either no one knows or I get no answers. Some posts were prior to finding out about EBV, some after.
