When i started taking methadone i knew nothing about it. I didn't know how hard it was going to be to get off of it. It was agonizing for me. Not knowing Suboxone had the same withdrawal effect I started taking it. I was on it for a year and a half and decided it was time. The withdrawal was so horrible that I just couldn't hack it. So, I started taking hydrocodone. it's been 2 months since stopping suboxone. I am ready to be DONE with it all.
I returned to methadone as was best option during pregnancy.(fortunately baby had no withdrawal symptoms). Haven't used heroin for about 5 years but so scared of withdrawal, thought i would be on one of the above for life. Baby now 19mths & have been withdrawing slowly so can still fulfill parental (single). I am currently on 4mg and have conflicting info regarding what to do next.
How long do w/d last when going "cold turkey"? I have it on very good authority that Roxicodone w/d lasts, in its acute phase, between 3-5 days with days 2 and 3 being the worst of it. So well-known is the Roxi/Oxy/Hydro w/d timeline that one member here referred to day 3 as "the dreaded day 3!" But no one ever talks about methadone that way. Everyone says Methadone is a MUCH longer time frame. So, does anyone have a more precise idea how much longer?
I am just now going into withdrawal from methadone and oxy's and I have one pill for the with drawal symptoms can't remember what its called but suppose to block the opiates or something but also takes symptoms away. My question is when should I take this pill? When I'm heavy in the sweats, shakes etc?Has anyone done this?

What are the withdrawal symptoms from Hydrocodone and how long will they last? I've been taking 1 or 2 10-325s a day for about a year for knee pain and quit a few days ago. I'm suffering from nausea that lasts from the time I wake up in the morning until about 12:00 noon. And I still don't feel well even then. I would really appreciate this information, as I'm starting to think there is something seriously wrong with me. Thank you!
well if your doing like that up and down your body never really get adusted to the dose we have no practical time line for you methadone is a hard one to kick you just have to grind it out... how long have you been on it ?? it is hard to tell how bad it is going to beyou CANT use narcotics to try to make it better. keep posting for support..........................Gnarly..........................................
So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
I am coming off of methadone for the third time and YES it is a much longer, much more difficult withdrawal than any other drug out there. I've heard heroin addicts that have been on methadone also but at different times say they would take heroin withdrawal any day over methadone.
with methadone the withdrawal takes a couple of days to hit methadone has a long half life with that said it also lasts a lot longer your withdrawal will be about 10 days then the physical part is over the thing that makes methadone so hard is the recovery time a lot of that has to do with how long your on it at what dose and your age some people get lucky and have it pass in 30 days most of us it is a 60 to 90 day grind just know you will get well sooner then later keep posing for support......
Methadone has a long half life,It lasts a long time in your system. Withdrawal lasts several weeks too.And 20mg is not a dose you want to jump off at,I don't think.At this time I am at 7mg and will wait till it is below 5 to bail out. Good luck in whatever you do,but being in Europe in withdrawals doesn't sound like fun.
With the symptoms you describes they are classic withdrawal symptoms. It is a long time to be in acute withdrawal but with that being said, methadone has a very long half life. It takes a very long time for it to get out of your system, months. I am not at all surprised you are still having problems, especially seeing how you were on it for the length of time you stated. The doses of the other meds the doctor put you were just not adequate. It seems he would of known that.
Many people stop breathing at night and die with only a few drinks and taking methadone. I cannot tell you how dangerous methadone truly is and how hard it is to come off of. I find that withdrawal from narcotics are all similiar as I have detoxed from many forms includng dilaudid iv use and it is a b tch as are all withdrawals. Hang in there it is about two weeks before the it seems you can see the light at the end of the tunnel.......
