Thanks for your response. How long have you had this sleeplessness? Over the counter sleeping aids never helped me before I was addicted to Percocet. Hope someone can answer the question for both of us.

To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?

I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.

I was allowed to take benedryl (sominex) up to 200 mg per night throughout TX. Now I am post TX and the insomnia has not yet left, so they prescribed Ambien and Lunesta for me (i grew allergic to something in the benedryl). They are all harmless to liver but the ambien & lunesta do cause dependence so I alternate them: Ambien for a couple nights, then lunesta (which does not work as well for me) for one night.

You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.

Seroquel stays in your system for a long time. I have never heard of that for a sleep aide. Its normally written for bipolar, its a psych med. Seroquel will make you gain weight and it will cause your self esteem to go down rapidly. You should try Ambian or Lunesta. they are the best out right now. As far as the weight ask for Effexor its for depression but has helped me lose weight.

I want to taper off xanax. Would it be safe to take half a 1 mg. xanax with 2 mg Lunesta or would I then become dependent on the Lunesta also?

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

Hi, how long have you been on the Zoloft and how much? Is it for anxiety? I have been on it for about 5 weeks, 25mg. I take it in the morning, even so sleeping is very difficult, if I do fall asleep I wake up every hour or so. I have heard this is common with Zoloft. My doctor told me to take Xanax to sleep, also tried Trazodone, Melatonin, and many over the counter - the only thing that works is the Xanax however I won't take this every night.

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

hey! you are fine, but just becarful with the ambian it is very very additing and dont take more than you are to take!!!! why do you feel guilty? arnt you taking them just to help you w/d? lunesta is over the counter isnt?what was you doc & how long & how much? congrats on the 2 days clean days. i had a 4 yr. snorting( pers)habit 20 plus pills a day! the opiates are really bad to w/d from me snorting was extra bad.

I had a 2 week break from tx and I noticed I am sometimes waking earlier, not necessarily a bad thing, as my energy level has increased a great deal. I have had periods of being wound up as well, unfortunately sometimes they were in the middle of the night. I found that the mental acuity and depression lifted pretty much in 2 weeks but some of the other stuff hangs on, and probably will for a few months. I would probably hang on to the Celexa and Ambien for a little while.

I took lunesta myself, and it also gave me a horrible taste in my mouth, but that's one of the side effects of the lunesta. my husband took it b4 & he didnt have the bad taste, but i sure did! it was ughhh, but i fell asleep shortly after!!!
