Hydrocodone release from the Tussionex® oral suspension is controlled by the Pennkinetic® system. Chlorpheniramine release from Tussionex® is prolonged by use of an ion-exchange polymer system. Chlorpheniramine is well absorbed from the GI tract. The onset of action of chlorpheniramine is about 30—60 minutes, with peak concentrations occurring in about 2-6 hours and peak effect in about 6 hours. The duration of action is between 4—8 hours. Hydrocodone is well absorbed from the GI tract.

im am addicted to this and hycodan at the same timw for about 3 years i take about a 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of tussionex a day i have drank 3 and 4 ounces in a day many times with ease thought and put any where from 2 tsp to a whole ounce in sprit and i never dont have a cup i also take klodipin i take 2 to 4 mgs a day and take at least 100mg of lortab about ten 10mgs a day but sometimes it does reach up to 20 tens a day plus the cough syrups how bad is my withdrawl for the codiene going to be i

sober 20+ years in 12 step program. Take Tussionex for chronic cough, 1 tsp. per day. I don't abuse it by taking more. But, if I don't take it every day I start to feel like I am getting the flu. Is that withdrawal, just the level in my blood is dropping off after 24 hours? Would appreciate anyone's input, especially if you have experience. Thanks and bless you all. Thank you for your comments, Dr. It was only that one incident (thank goodness) - personally, I do think it was the Tussionex. I am much better - except for the residual cough. It's pretty much non-productive but hanging on. Others who have had this cold say the same thing. I've been taking honey and drinking lots of warm/hot liquids.

I took tussionex before and it is amazing. it even tastes good. how many times have you withdrawn from it? how much were you using? it is very expensive. at least it was for me. you are not alone here. there alot of people on this site that were addicted to opiates and went thru withdrawal. just read thru some of the posts.

My addiction started around 1 1/2 to 2 years ago when I had a chronic cough and was given Tussionex - wow how I loved that stuff. It totally stopped my coughing and made you feel great. I took that stuff for heck months...until I was diagnosed with arthritis in my lower back - well as luck would have it I was prescribed Vicodin with has the same crap in it as the cough medicine Tussionex had. Well long story short I have finally come to my senses and gave it all up. I can do it...

it can make u fail..if u r planning to wean off then it is often a good idea to write it out/the taper/how many pills u will take each day/ct is also an alternative at ur dose is u fail on the tapering stuff....pick a QUIT day and stick to it no matter what...i have found that peole who r unable to pick a day to be done do not make it...

mamaof4410 is right..u need to learn to deal w/ your troubles, not sweep them under the rug. "Dont keep sweeping your troubles under the rug for someday you'll trip over it.

I have a bottle of Tussionex since the last time i was pretty sick. It was filled may 15 2008 and Im not sure what the expiration date is on it. would it be fine to take?

Tussionex® (hydrocodone bitartrate and chlorpheniramine maleate) is a potent cough-suppressant. There is no significant drug interaction between it and the Adalat® (nifedipine). Your concern about the use of a narcotic is appropriate. This is an addictive narcotic. It suppresses cough but does not address the specific cause of an individual's cough. Determination of the cause and cause-specific treatment is highly preferable to simple suppression, but not always possible.

Also, the FDA issued a warning on this drug so be careful its very easy to overdose on it. Especially for children.

ur dose was not huge but u were on them for a long time..even a headache can be missed if u have had it long enuf!..this is a habit u were in for a long time..like smoking..it is hard to let ift go and not think about it in a short amount of time..changing behavior is not easy and takes work..seems like u r doing the work u need to do...and I am glad u caught this before it was a major mg problem what is ur plan as far as staying clean? do u think u may crave later on?..

For one thing the less narcotic pain medicine your on after surgery, the less they will need to control your post surgery pain. I do agree your being under treated for pain management. If you still have horrid untreated pain after surgery, find a different doctor who will help you. I was getting 4 Percocet(5/325mg) a day. The surgery/fusion did not help my pain, but he wouldn't raise my dose. Instead I was getting injection after injection. It was awful.

All I know for sure is that your son is addicted to speed (that is what Adderall is, in case no one ever told you). As for his poor performance in school, he may not be a good student with or without medication. Also be warned that Adderall affects growth and puberty. I would not put a child of mine on this drug if you put a gun to my head, no matter what the diagnosis. And ADD is over-diagnosed, mostly by pediatricians who are not specialists in this field of medicine.

s true Social Services would probably be notified in this case, I can tell you that they prefer to work with the mother whenever possible. Admitting this is an addiction issue and getting help for it is a big positive. They will always act in what they believe to be in the best interest of the child and even if they take the baby, they would work with you to have you reunited. Once a person is measured/tested for an IOL implant (meaning axial length, curvature, etc), how long are those measurements good for? In other words, how soon should after the measurements should surgery be done for optimum results, is it: One month? Two months? Three months? Thank you.

but im gonna go back to the doc for that... anyways, if you dont feel lexapro is right for you, experiment...until you find the right one for your body and that helps you... thats what I did and I found it... I wish you the best and hope this helps... its my opinion.
