Avatar f tn So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar m tn My question is being that I have an addictive personality, especially to opiates(norco, oxycontin), how long is it relatively safe for me to take tramadol without becoming addicted or dependent upon them. Ive read some really devastating posts about some serious withdrawls that can happen with tramadol. I absolutely need something for pain for probably atleast 2-3wks, can anyone give me some sort of timeline that is acceptable to take tramadol.

320944 tn?1245966599 I know it will take awhile to get over the cravings, I was just wondering how long it actually stays in your system. Thanks for your input and I did not think your post was negative.
Avatar m tn What do u mean? How long before it no longer give pain relief or how long before its out of ur system as in undetected?
502050 tn?1243602535 Does anyone have any idea how long this dull irratating ache behind the eyes may last ? I am on day 11 c/t from tramadol and have it since day 1.
Avatar n tn u should be feeling much better by friday...if not sooner...6 weeks is not a long time to use...ur body should bounce back quickly if u dont have any former addictions....most taper down on trams due to seizure risk...but u r 2 days in i would not go back now and taper..plus ur dose and time of use is relatively low....have u checked out the thomas recipe?
1222871 tn?1268839538 Tramadol IS VERY ADDICTING it is a synthetic opiate .It is NOT wise to continue to change over from one drug to other .I am sure he wants to brake that cycle with a jump like that is pretty clear ...Be very careful with klonopin its highly addictive as well .I hope the colondine starts to help more I also sent this to one of our members how is VERY knowledgeable in sub I think he should be able to give you some insight ...
Avatar n tn t think there is such low dose as 10 mg, I heard of 50mg minimum, so if it is 10 pills a day no matter how many mg each is is a strong dependence he is on, the more mg the worse it is. It is not my intention to scare you, but those are hard facts. Unfortunately not too many doctors are aware of How addictive or how bad dependence can create the Tramadol.
Avatar n tn I have not read much about the cough being a symptom and am wondering if anybody else has experienced that? Also how long until the sweating at night ends? I feel fine other than these nagging things. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond.
5262038 tn?1415312585 Hi Shawnee! everyone is different, and no one can really say how long your withdrawals will last. It's true you haven't been taking them for very long, so hopefully they won't last very long. I've heard that Tramadol withdrawals can last a little longer and be a little more difficult. Hang in there and try not to dwell on the time. I know that's easy for me to say. You will get through this.
Avatar m tn m not finding anything really reliable in my searching to answer how long before tramadol is completely out of your system and will allow an occasional use for a few weeks or so before it's starting to grab you again. My hope is to have a few different types of pain meds and use each of them for only a few weeks at a time (I have some longer term pain management I need for about a year or so). Then again, is rotating them even a good idea?
Avatar n tn Wow! I have no idea how you have been able to handle this on your own for this long, wannabsober. To go thru withdrawal without support is just about as close to hell as u can get. Maybe turning it around and looking at this from his angle might help. One way or another he is probably going to find out someday, somehow. I know that I would rather be told by my hubby anything that he had lied about.
Avatar f tn I would read up on here of peoples storries about teh tramadol and see what u find. How long have u been off the hydrocodone?
1171652 tn?1264091397 I wouldn't mess with the Tramadol. It's very addictive too. The worst should be over in 5-7 days. You will get a lot more responces if you post this on the "Substance Abuse Addiction Forum" (it's highlighted in blue at the top of this page). This is the Addiction Social where we just kinda goof off. lol Keep up the good work.
Avatar f tn glad you found us! How much narco are you taking? Tramadol is tricky, but many here have experience with it.
Avatar f tn You also asked about your liver in a prior thread. What is going on?
Avatar m tn My doctor told me that tramadol turns to Codiene in your body so yes it is addictive. Prayers for ya keep fighting the fight.
Avatar f tn I pick the amount, so that i am truly accountable, and he leaves them for me in the morning. It is up to me how often I take them and how many at a time, but at the end of the day if I have taken my daily supply- OH WELL. I try to stay at least at every 4 hours. Use vitamins, water, and pray (if that's your thing). It is working for me so far. I wish you much luck, and be patient because it's the holidays so this site is not as active as usual.
Avatar f tn i have a determination in me that has never been there before. it is very funny to live in desert where it is 115 and one min i am freezing and the next i am soaked! the only thing i am focasing on is the water for now, i am afraid if i take vitamins they will just come back up, maybe next week. here if you need to talk , good luck!
Avatar f tn Body and mental torture that seems to last for I dont know how long. I take tramadol and I would rather spend an hour having my finger nails pulled off then go through weeks of that withdrawl.
