Common Questions and Answers about How long is tamiflu in your system

tamiflu

Avatar n tn I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.
Avatar f tn I did not know this re pneumonia vaccine--mine is getting near to 5 years old so good to know this anyhow. You seem very knowledgeable; do you know how long Tamiflu actually lasts? I have a packet of Tamiflu (from Roche, prescription) from November 2004 that says it expires in 2006 but I've also heard that Roche guarantees its tamiflu for five years, and when I phoned Roche today they'd only say "We do not recommend use beyond the expiration date," nor will my doctor.
Avatar f tn The only person who can advise you on this is your doctor as you have advanced liver disease. I also have cirrhosis dx in Jan 2008. Because we have a weakened system my doctor has advised me to get the flu shot every year as soon as it becomes available. Have you had the pneumonia vaccine? My doctor had me get vaccinated as soon as I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. He also had me get vaccinated against hep a and hep b. I did find this on the NIH website https://livertox.nih.gov/Oseltamivir.
Avatar n tn and, broadly speaking, if the glands in the throat are inflamed does it mean the infection is in the throat/face and inflamed glands in your groin means the genitals are infected? i don't want to infect anyone else obviously (as kissing and skin touching can transmit) but i also don't want to have an embarrassing conversation with a 'kinda regularish' partner i don't need to have. thanks for your reply btw! sorry for so many questions. just a bit worried is all.
Avatar f tn My only comment is that our local hospital (I work there) is prescribing tamiflu (an anti-viral) for patients in the high-risk groups if they come down with flu symptoms. This needs to be started as soon as possible to have the maximum effect. Please advise your daughter to call her PCP or her oncologist to get this prescription right away!
167426 tn?1254086235 Leslee had the flu shot this year, but her daughter that lives with them and is going to college developed Influenza A, last Tuedsay, Wenesday went to ER, dx with the flu, started on Tamiflu 75mg twice daily for 5 days, this put Leslee at great risk because of her immune system, after doing some research I found that the Tamiflu also is used to prevent flu, so I called Les and she went to her clinic today and they have now ordered the Tamiflu for her 75mg daily for 10 days.
Avatar m tn -) It sounded like this is a pretty typical process in the office for anyone with issues that get aggravated by the seasonal bugs - probably asthma or COPD type stuff, or maybe lupus. I guess that would be one benefit to not having a formal dx. There is no standard treatment protocol for every little thing that happens. Thanks, Lulu. It did sort of answer my question as far as the timing goes. All we can do is try it.
Avatar f tn t work properly, so food sits too long in his stomach. POTS can make you ill in so many ways.
905197 tn?1282232033 s a scary thing but try not to work yourself up to much. My sister is an RN and she is telling me that the media is blowing it way out of proportion. I am exposed to it every day I work right now as the schools have got it circulating now. I'm a bus driver. But I'm hearing it is just like a normal flu but the people who are dying from it are ones that aren't seeking help fast enough. If you show a high fever get in to see someone right away.
397118 tn?1219762250 Ok the title says it all lol, How long does marijuana stay in your system? I never did marijuana so don't know is for my nephew he keeps saying he is not doing any and every test is positive and occording to him the last time he use was 5 months ago but every month the test is positive. What do you guys think? is it like he says that it stays in your body for a long time or he is still using?
Avatar f tn I know it is short acting but how long does it stay in your system? Is it 4 or 6 hours? The reason I am asking is sometimes if I have an attack and it helps but by bedtime I might start feeling like I'm going to have another. So I was worndering if it was the xanax wearing off or if I was just still feeling some more anxiety. Thanxs to all.
Avatar n tn Oh, one question... What type of stomach problems? Did you mention the stomach problems to your doctor? Did she think that the stomach problems were because of a panic attack? If the stomach problems are a badly upset stomach, then I would go to Another doctor and let them know that you recently had the gardasil vaccine and you exerienced an upset stomach (mention this first) as well as the other more common side effects that you mentioned.
Avatar n tn Gosh i must say you are mighty helpful and i truly thank you a ton for going out of your way to help me with this issue. Thank you a million.
Avatar m tn I am not sure on that, but the best place to go for that question is your pharmacist- they are really helpful with medication questions.
Avatar f tn t want to continue doing that much longer. He still has a cough in the morning and at night, but that appears to be much better. Is it normal for him to still have a headache? Should he return to the clinc?
