skelaxin

Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Now if he would combine it with other meds watch out for that.
Avatar n tn capsules 300mg 1xd for fibromyalgia, Prilosec 1xd for uclers, Celebrex 1xd for inflammation causing chronic pain, Skelaxin,400mg 2-4xweek, Addarall 50mg daily for ADD, Foltrin bid for anemia, Estrovent for hot flashes, an most recently I am being bolased with 5000u Vit. D due to vit D deficiency and liquid calicium 1000mg with 400mg vit D. I have never been much of a drinker, if i had 5 drinks/year that was a lot.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
450140 tn?1317947304 Thank you all for your comments. I took the new meds for the first time this morning. We will see how and if it helps. I know I have been gone for some time...........I did not feel well enough to even sit at the computer. I know you are all here for me and that really helps. I have told my family, I dont know what i would have done if not for this forum. Thank you all again!
Avatar m tn Skelaxin I got prescribed when I got in a car accident for a muscle relaxer, It didnt really do much of anything but make me feel like gumby, drunk and out of it. Its not for chronic or severe pain BUT it is for MUSCLE pain, like muscle spasms. From being a former EMT (Paramedic) I know it works in the brain to help with the relaxation of muscle pain, its also used for physical therapy with people with back problems.
Avatar m tn Skelaxin seems to be one of the best muscle relaxants without making one drowsy like Flexerill does. It is good for occasional muscle flareups - I would not be afraid of Skelaxin when you really need it. It can be weened off. If you dont need the full strength, cut the pills in half. It will take months for muscle pain to subside in people that have it bad like you do. The time frame also depends on how low your thyroid levels were, you weren't that low so it could have been worse.
Avatar m tn Headaches are common for me, but usually hormonal so I know when they are coming and I know when they will be gone for the most part. This headache is different - most of mine are located at the front or sides of my head and this one is in the back to the top of my head. I have taken muscle relaxers, migraine meds, prednisone (6 days) and more and more Skelaxin.
Avatar m tn t take it with a benzo like xanax. Baclofen is very good. I even read that in higher doses it can be used for addictions like alcohol and maybe heroin. It was in the Wikipedia site for it. Was very i teresting read.
198419 tn?1360242356 Thanks you guys! I'll be talking w/ Dr today I hope. I have chosen Copaxone. With my school and ER schedule, it will fit the best. As far as the cramping goes... it has calmed down to a constant tight muscle so I think it's getting better. I'm going to request a RX for Skelaxin (Methocarbamol) to help. It's a non narcotic/sedating muscle relaxer I can take during the day. I'm also considering trying samples of that med to help w/ fatigue... Provigil?
Avatar m tn Take the pills and try the therapy and message for awhile and then let us know how your doing. I had got down to 1 1/2 a day through my weening process but my back was hurting the whole time. I think I am still going to try to keep cutting back and see if I can quit when I can take a few days off work. Just thought I would let ya'll know where I am and how disappointed I am that the dr said he could not fix it for me.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure if its normal for everybody, but I did have a lot of pain and tightness through my neck and shoulders while I was detoxing. The skelaxin is a very mild muscle relaxer and non-narcotic (I'm pretty sure), so shouldn't be a problem. May even help. Having DDD in the neck is going to leave you with some pain that may be exagerated in the first few weeks. give it just a little time to level out before you try to judge what your "normal" pain will be.
585414 tn?1288941302 Dear Advocate, Here's some more ideas. By the way, I think those Flexeril and skeletal muscle relaxants are not the best thing to be using, they're kind of a bandaid for what you got, but if they work, fine. These are just some of my notes.
Avatar f tn All I know for sure is that your son is addicted to speed (that is what Adderall is, in case no one ever told you). As for his poor performance in school, he may not be a good student with or without medication. Also be warned that Adderall affects growth and puberty. I would not put a child of mine on this drug if you put a gun to my head, no matter what the diagnosis. And ADD is over-diagnosed, mostly by pediatricians who are not specialists in this field of medicine.
Avatar n tn I would suggest seeing his primary care doctor and asking him/her for a referral. A referral to a pain management would be a great help. He obviously has the pain and the documented proof of the pain and the pain management doctor can offer him surgery if possible and also help control his pain. Have you told the doctor who is treating him he needs pain control and that the meds he is giving him just isn't working?
Avatar n tn Once a person is measured/tested for an IOL implant (meaning axial length, curvature, etc), how long are those measurements good for? In other words, how soon should after the measurements should surgery be done for optimum results, is it: One month? Two months? Three months? Thank you.
1123420 tn?1350561158 Db wants me to just let him cry himself to sleep, and he did last night after 35 minutes. So i was wondering, how long is too long for the cry out method at 6 months old?
