m no expert and like I said everyone is different, but that might be not so bad of an amount of oxycodone? Just the 7 year period is quite long and concerns me. I personally abused 160mg of oxycontin a day. I'm on day 5. It's tough as you well know, but I believe the withdrawal is the easy part compared to staying clean after the withdrawal.
Tapering could be an option for you just to make it a bit easier, but CT works for many as well.

i am suspposed to take 15mg Oxycodone 3 a day and i am to have to take a blood test for a leavel check. how many shoul i take and how long before should i start taking them. Please help. opioid dependence, constipation(which can cause severe complications), QT changes(cardiac condition), slow respirations, leading to lack of proper oxygen in the blood , there is a long list of things, but if used properly, they are less likely to cause complications. Oxycodone is known to be physically more addicting than morphine, although for people who are allergic to morphine, Oxycontin can work well. I used to switch between the two.

Just a quick correction...Percocet is oxycodone with Acetaminophen, and Percodan is Oxycodone with Aspirin, not Tylenol. There are other, less common combinations, like Vicoprofen, which would be Hydrocodone with Ibuprofen instead of Tylenol (Acetaminophen).
Vicodin, Norco, Lortab are all Hydrocodone.

my oxycodone levels where a little high in my blood but I had just taken my medication one hour prior to the test with grapefruit juice witch I now know not to do cause it can cause high levels but my PM Dr is concerned about the other drugs in my blood. is this just because I have been on it so long and they have built up in my blood due to longterm use or should I go back to the specialist and get my kidney liver and bladder rechecked.
and it seems to help, but I dont know what to do here, as I need something for the pain I feel daily (its like walking around being kicked in the balls all day long) but I dont want to keep having these scarry episodes. I just got home after having my broken knee cap put back together (knee surgery with screws and wire). I am on the couch with a lot of pain and at least for the next few days I am taking 5mg of Oxycodone, every 3-4 hours, depending on pain levels. I am really struggling to get my blood sugar levels even close to normal. For what it's worth, I am on an insulin pump and have great control (I avg. 5.8 A1C's).
t take it away but make life a little bit easier. I also take Tizanadine and oxycodone for flare ups. In the morning I start taking Savella the new Fibromyalgia medication. My Rheumatologist gave me a four week starter pack of Savella today. I'm really nervous to take this medication because both Cymbalta and Lyrica were horrible medications for me. The side effects scare me. Suicide, nausea, vomiting, bleeding problems, rashes, etc. and I do mean the list goes on and on. Wish me luck.
how long have you been taking that amount? i was taking 25-30 30mg oxy's per day. the withdrawals were so bad that i had to go to medical detox (not to scare you... i'm sure you have some sort of idea what youre in for and whether or not you can handle it). i've come off lower amounts in the past cold turkey... i never buy into the 2-3 days and the worst is over. i'd go more like 7 days for the physical garbage... and 15-30 days for the mental garbage...everyone is different.
I had a L4-5 disc replacement and L5-S1 anterior instrumented fusion in Jan 09 and am still in significant pain. I take 4 norco10mg during the day, and 2-3 5mg oxycodone at night, which is more than I thought i would have to be taking at this point, and yet hardly enough to function. If I simply lie down all day, I am not bad, but if I do 2-3 hours of activity, I am out of commision for a few days. Has anyone had a similar operation, and if so how are you doing.
This is causing severe pain in my hips and lower back. Regardless this is how I started taking the meds to get me through the day and now I've chose to stop. I've taken a week of vacation and a following Monday. I've taken suboxone for the past two days. A very small amount yesterday and an even smaller amount today. I have a script of 60 1 mg Ativan and plan on trying to use them for three days to sleep.
I personally had to taper because one of the reasons I abused pills was to escape the emotional problems like you said you were doing. I had to deal with all the things I put off dealing with and tapering helped me get a hold of the emotions better, and to let go of the pills one day at a time.
