My mom has called our family doctor and the doctor told me that it takes 72 hours for the drug to be out of my system and thats how long its been since I took my last pill but my headache has hardly eased up, although my nausea is noticeably better today. I was just wondering, how long after stopping minocycline should my headaches stop?

The only drugs that might have an effect are things have have a major effect on the immune system, like cancer chemotherapy or powerful immune suppressing drugs -- and even these are theoretical, with few if any actual known cases of intereference with HIV test result. You might try taking a good probiotic from the refrigerated section of your local health food store to replenish what the antibiotic has killed off.

There are ups and downs but I am able to move much better than anytime in the past 7 and a half years. Just wondering how long one has to be on the drug and if it really makes you better. Discuss it with your doc. Probably it is time to stop the minocycline; I doubt any antibiotic is going to make a difference. Perhaps most important, none of these problems -- chronic prostatitis, recurrent/persistent NGU, CPPS -- causes serious health outcomes for either affected men or their sex partners. All are an issue of comfort and inconvenient symptoms, not important health difficulties. I hope this helps.

Welcome to MedHelp -- Did your doc ask you about having been intimate with anyone recently and/or currently? Sounds like he did not. To be on the safe side, why not call the doc's office in the morning and ask whether your partners should seek medical advice and/or antibiotics. About still not feeling 100% after 2 wks on meds, Lyme (to my recollection) is not something that vanishes right away after taking med, like a headache does.

I know it is short acting but how long does it stay in your system? Is it 4 or 6 hours? Some drugs stay in your system for a few weeks. If it does not clear up soon, then I suggest you see your prescribing physician and maybe a get a shot to counteract the symptoms.

Oh, one question... What type of stomach problems? Did you mention the stomach problems to your doctor? Did she think that the stomach problems were because of a panic attack? If the stomach problems are a badly upset stomach, then I would go to Another doctor and let them know that you recently had the gardasil vaccine and you exerienced an upset stomach (mention this first) as well as the other more common side effects that you mentioned.
