i read yout post and had to respond immediately,don't start with the methadone unless you do a 5 day taper 1 time only,2.5mg's first day and then minus .5 every day until your done.
Thankfully I found this site then a few other sites that u der stood the duration of withdrawals from benzodiazepines and the methadone. My question is how many others have been treated with drugs become addicted then be left to figure out how to stop them on your own? I lost all faith in Doctors I would be dead today if I had continued with the drugs they put me on.
i honestly am not sure how long methadone stays in your system.....if it is anything like opiates about 3-4 days?
i did want to say welcome, and that you are doing a wonderful, brave thing. my best friend was addicted to herion and crack, got off and started going to the methadone clinic, and now he is addicted to that, and whatever strong benzo the docs put him on. but now when i try and talk to him, he can barely speak. he seriously acts like he is mentally handicapped now...
hello everyone im on day two and dont feel god awful but have felt better i started the aminos and viats a week before i stopped at 10mgs methadone ive been up almost all day and even yesterday even though i had to make myself i figured it had to be better than laying around ive even made myself walk about a mile as well i know methadone stays in your system a lot longer but i would like to have an idea when i can look forward to feeling really bad!
I cannot say how oxycodone will make you feel in comparison with methadone. I can however, share that in my experience, oxycodone is a much less debilitating medication. It causes less somnolence than methadone, and is not as effective as a pain medication.
For some who get great analgesia from methadone, other medications can help with the side effects. For example, I used ritalin for the years I was using methadone.
5 mg every week until I got to 5 mg then I was more sporadic in how much and how often I would go down and how often. I got down to the 1.5 a day and was doing well. I think my problem was a) it cost me the same at 1.5 daily as it did 25 mg daily. Therefore I did not stay on 1.5 long enough. I should have done another week and every other day. I had not been there long enough for take outs.
How much u on cos it depends on how much u on to how long it takes to get out of ur system. It has a half life of 36hrs. don quote me on that.
Cold turkey Monday morn 7am- 2 mg
Tuesday night 7pm -1 mg.
Thursday morn 7am-.5mg
Friday night 7pm-.25mg
Sunday morn 7am-.125
lack of sleep and restless legs were my 2 big issues to overcome.
I think when people start reading your post there going to need a little bit more information to be able to correctly answer your questions. How much methadone and how many vics a day? If it were just the vicodin, the w/d process would be about 5/6 days, but with the methadone included, may be longer. And if your looking for energy, DON"T!
Keep that in mind. Now the reality. Methadone is most likely the hardest obstacle you have in front of you. Ambien and zanax are no walk in the park either. Did your ambien and zanax also go the cold turkey route? That is probably not the optimum way to approach this. You might very well want something for sleep - insomnia is a major obstacle to quiting. And for your information, suicide is a leading part of benzodiazepine withdrawal - - this is no joke that you are messing around with.
I would like to know how long it takes for methadone,morphine,and oxy's to expel from your system especially methadone. Need to have a clean drug test.
