Avatar m tn that is where the temporary dysfunction of the brain stem comes in... basically.. your brain stem is always telling your trigeminal nerve system (the nerves in your head and face, and the nerves that hurt during a migraine) "don't hurt, there is no reason for us to hurt right now" and when you have a migraine those neurons get temporarily confused and start telling your trigeminal nerve system "we're hurting! we're hurting!".

Avatar f tn Hello, hope this finds you feeling better. Taking too much Imitrex can cause SERIOUS medical, long term problems with your cadiovascular system just for starters. You can also get very painful rebound headaches from taking too much medicine in a short period of time. In lieu of medication, try massage therapy. For the pain, sometimes Peppermint Essential Oil can help.

Avatar f tn I know it is short acting but how long does it stay in your system? Is it 4 or 6 hours? The reason I am asking is sometimes if I have an attack and it helps but by bedtime I might start feeling like I'm going to have another. So I was worndering if it was the xanax wearing off or if I was just still feeling some more anxiety. Thanxs to all.
Avatar n tn Oh, one question... What type of stomach problems? Did you mention the stomach problems to your doctor? Did she think that the stomach problems were because of a panic attack? If the stomach problems are a badly upset stomach, then I would go to Another doctor and let them know that you recently had the gardasil vaccine and you exerienced an upset stomach (mention this first) as well as the other more common side effects that you mentioned.
Avatar n tn Gosh i must say you are mighty helpful and i truly thank you a ton for going out of your way to help me with this issue. Thank you a million.
Avatar m tn I am not sure on that, but the best place to go for that question is your pharmacist- they are really helpful with medication questions.
Avatar n tn 5-3 hours. I had no other medications in my system. I DO NOT use drugs or drink alcohol. Only Imitrex. My husband honestly thought I was joking. I could not lift my head. I could not move my arms or legs. I could not swallow my drool. I swear if my breathing and blinking where not involuntary I would not have been doing either of those. I have met someone else that this has happened before to them as well. But the time it took their body to recover was about 30-45 mins much shorter then my own.
518798 tn?1295212279 Good Morning guys! I woke up with another migraine this morning. This is the 3rd one this month. I usually have about 2 in a year, but never this close together and this often. I have been taking 1 imitrex when I have a headache. My question is, "Is Imitrex habit-forming?" I have researched all the websites, but they also say that ultram isn't habit forming. I was just wanting some info from someone who has taken it.
Avatar m tn Opiods will be more addicting, because they make you feel good. Ultram is addicting because it numbs and calms your senses. Imitrex doesn't feel addicting, but it affects your mind, and yes, can be addicting to many people. Again, anything that affects your mood or changes you - can be addicting. Everything from Allergy Pills, to cough syrup, to percocet, to sniffing glue - can be addictive. Just because the research doesnt support it at this time, doesn't rule it out.
Avatar f tn That depends on the actual production or how underproductive your thyroid is, being a supplement Levothyroxine is a T4 Medication, prescribed to replace the hormone your lacking, so every person is different, average time for blood work is 4-6 weeks, in the US it is 6 weeks between labs, they judge that by the time a dosage increase has an effect and shows up in blood tests.
