Hello~It is always a good idea to take a good, high potency pro-biotic when on long-term antibiotics as the antibiotics tend to remove the "friendly" bacteria from your gut, thus sometimes causing issues like thrush, or candida. You can get the pro-biotics from most health food stores, make sure they are the kind that are refrigerated and have high amounts in each dose.
(. Although it could be from the augmentin I am taking right now ( it is my 6th day of taking augmentin). I have a bacterial infection in my throat and the doctor prescribed me this. The mouth sores appread 2 to 3 days after I started taking my medication. I read that augmentin does cause mouth sores. It's one of it's may side effects. But I am worried still.
Augmentin and Zocor have been known to be potentially hepatotoxic. Tylenol is safe, if it is taken as directed (less than 4,000 mg/daily). I imagine that those 3 drugs taken together can increase the potential for damage to the liver.
Have you talked with your doctor about possibly substituting another lipid lowering drug...and getting off the Zocor? Are you still taking Augmentin?

My dermatologist prescribed Augmentin 1g for 14 days for syphilis. I found out 4 days ago, both VDRL and FTA-ABS tests (IgG pos, IgM neg) confirmed that I do have a syphilis infection, and I was possibly infected 5 years ago( am I way past the secondary stage? possibly latent?). The dermatologist says that Augmentin should work, but I'm worried.
I will continue with the oral Augmentin, and re-test to see if it is working, but what are the chances it will?

ve been taking Augmentin almost for a week now. I heard Cefexime 4g is the usual choice. how long does it take for Gonorrhea to affect the joint? I have been having joint pains for almost 2 weeks. I also got good news that I am to finish my current box of Bicillin (penicillin) shots and then switch to an oral long lasting Augmentin (penicillin). I took Augmentin 875 for a week when I first got sick, not knowing what I had, and I recovered from my severe flu-like symptoms in a couple of days. It worked great. I don't finish my shots until early January, but I am glad to know the end is in sight. I will no longer feel like a pin cushion!
