Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums. Thanks for your question. It sounds like you have had a very difficult time of it. How long have you been diagnosed? It's important to get this under control as you know. We are glad you are working with your doctor on this. Here is information regarding Lantus https://www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-20815/lantus-u-100-insulin-subcutaneous/details. With regards to taking your oral medications and Lantus together, please speak to your doctor.
Avatar n tn I ask because it is difficult to determine how long it may take Januvia to take affect with your personal medical history. After one week, I suggest you notify your doctor and let him/her know that your levels remain higher than normal.

Avatar f tn If you are planning on working after you have the baby, it is good to work for as long as possible before the baby comes. here's why--- that time you take off counts toward your short term disability and the family medical leave. There are maximum days associated with both of those and you'd be using them to have the baby early. I worked until close to my due date with my first taking a few vacation days.

Icecream ) But nearly all newly diagnosed patients start oral medications right away and some physicians are more aggressive than others because it is important to get diabetes under control as soon as possible to reduce risk of long term complications. The main concern I would have about the addition to Lantus 20 units daily would be the risk of low blood sugar, especially in combination with glimepiride. Both Lantus and glimepiride can cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia.
Avatar m tn If you do not mind saying, will you be able to get on Medicaid or Medicare for your health/prescription coverage?
