How long does tamiflu last

Common Questions and Answers about How long does tamiflu last

tamiflu

1) Should I be worried that my cough lasted so long or is that normal? How long should the fatigue last for? Does this mean I have a bad immune system? Could smoking ciggarettes be preventing me from getting better? Okay the second thing I'm worried about is my ears... So two days ago I noticed a slight loss of hearing in my right ear. It kinda felt like it was muffled or like I was in a high altitude.
My question is if that is normal once it has been removed and how long does it last. I had it in for over a year but wanted it removed because my husband and I are planning for another baby. So I have one more question, how long could it take to conceive once it is removed? and is it safe to try the first month that it has been removed?
I just do not know how you can tell if the vaccine is actually going to cause any issues in the long run when it is only tested such a short period of time. It took me 12 years to decide to have another child and I really would like to make sure that my baby does not have any issues especially from a vaccine that noone truely knows much about.
general flu symptoms for 3 days without sores etc? and how long would you wait to be tested? and, broadly speaking, if the glands in the throat are inflamed does it mean the infection is in the throat/face and inflamed glands in your groin means the genitals are infected? i don't want to infect anyone else obviously (as kissing and skin touching can transmit) but i also don't want to have an embarrassing conversation with a 'kinda regularish' partner i don't need to have.
Some very sick pregnant women with H1N1 and pneumonia have benefited from Tamiflu even starting a week after symptoms started. Tamiflu is not recommended for prophylaxis-- to prevent getting H1N1. It is most appropriate for persons who have high risk conditions (e.g. pregnancy) and who are household contacts of suspected or confirmed H1N1 patients. There are a few reports of Tamiflu-resistant pandemic H1N1 viruses.
If so, did you have Tamiflu or not? My sons and husband had the H1n1 last week, and I called my Dr right away and got on Tamiflu, which prevented me from getting sick at all. Trust me, I was very unsure about taking the Tamiflu, but I felt it was better than ending up very sick or dead. I still worry about what adverse effects the drug might have on my unborn baby.
This has been an unusual year in that the flu has been picking up in the last few weeks, and will last into early summer. The symptoms of influenza include cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, and fever. Other common symptoms are chills, headache, muscle aches, fatigue (a tired feeling), and loss of appetite. Fortunately, this year, there's plenty of vaccine and you'll have protection as soon as a week after getting your shot.
Personally I wouldn't take the meds, I read about people who had worse side effects from the meds than the flu itself when I was in the UK. It really is a tough one Jen, neither decision is wrong or right. I'll keep my fingers crossed you stay healthy.
with a mask), practice good hygiene with hand washing and don't touch your own eyes, nose and mouth. What's important is that if in the last week you have been to Mexico, San Diego, Imperial County or Texas, and come back with a flu like illness with fever, sore throat, cough, runny nose, and possibly vomiting and diarrhea, call your doctor. You may benefit from Tamiflu or Relenza pills.
so, the little one did missed the window for the tamiflu. (they are both OK now) and the last was a girl who worked in radiology. Probably caught it from a patient. She is OK now, but she said she felt like absoulute ****. She said her skin even hurt. So, they all are fine now, but the CDC says if you get the flu this season, you have a greater than 75% chance (or is it higher?) that is will be the H1N1. BTW- I am pg, but cannot get the vaccine yet.
i know how your feelin..i went to the er when 7 weeks preg. and they said since im preg and think its the flu or swine flu, they treated me for the swine and being pregnant does make it worse...i was so sick and didnt want to go anywhere for about 2 weeks, and if they perscribed you tamiflu...that made me start throwing up....i hope all is well and you get feelin better sooner.
Any thoughts as what I should do, I noticed it was there on Sunday because I felt it and thought I got it out thinking it was a scab, I don't have a clue how long it was in there for...I could use some help on what to do.
He told me that we don't know how healthy these people were when they caught this flu, and we also don't know how long they waited to get treatment. So, we've got some advantage here!!!! We've got treatment and now, there's public awareness-meaning that people will make it a point to seek treatment EARLY!! Instead of us freaking out, we should think about these things! Take care, and I'll say an extra prayer for you tonight!
How does swine flu spread? Influenza viruses can be directly transmitted from pigs to people and from people to pigs. Human infection with swine flu viruses are most likely to occur when people are in close proximity to infected pigs, such as in pig barns and livestock exhibits at fairs. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur.
transmission requires PENETRATION. one last time...you were never at risk and this post has gone on long enough. NOTHING that you have described put you at risk for hiv.
There is a nasal swab that is a diagnostic tool for true flu. But, unfortunately, by the time you got your Tamiflu, you had probably been sick too long for it to do any good. I think you should go back to the original place you went, and demand that they recheck your chart. If what you said is accurate, you did not receive complete care, and they should not charge you again for the visit. This has happened with my parents hospital.
I do think whoever does plan on getting this vaccine, that we all stay in touch and update as to how we are doing after the vaccine and also if you are p/g how your baby is after birth....
In the US in 2001 there were 63,730 deaths caused by the flu. It happens much more that people ever imagine. The thing is that it's getting much more press this year because of H1N1. Most people die from flu because of simple non-compliance. In other words, not getting medical attention in time and not doing as directed when they do. Most often, the deaths aren't caused by the flu itself...but the pneumonia that comes with it. Very dangerous stuff.
deb, last december i got the flu 3 days after xmas. it hit me hard for 1 day. it's the first time i've had the flu in @ 7 years. i'm on riba and interferon. i hope you find out what's causing the fevers. i'd be concerned. good luck.
I don't go out in public at all any more and last week some how I caught a stomach virus I thought was the flu at first. I guess my husband brought it home to me but he was never sick. It just showed me how easy it is to catch something even if you are extremely careful. It helped with my decision to get the vaccine. Sorry for the book! I hope you feel better. It sounds like you are getting close to your little ones arrival with the pains! What ever you feel you should do, do it.
I keep hearing all the info on the swine flu and how pregnant women are the most at risk group and that we should get the vaccine as soon as it comes out. I'm scared to get such an new vaccine but then I'm scared of the consequences of getting the swine flu??? I also have a 16 month old who is in daycare so they say we should get them the shot too. What have you guys heard and any thoughts?
Mine however resolves on its own within minutes and does not recur again in the day, even if I indulge in additional exercise. How long does your diplopia last? I too have had MRIs and other testing to exclude MS, MG. Have you had an MRA to check the condition of your cranial arteries and rule out an aneurysm? That might be very important to exclude. Have you had a lumbar puncture? Or visual evoked potentials? Bloodwork to exclude other things such as thyroid, B12, etc.?
I just took a 25mg promethazine about 15 min. ago so we'll see how that treats me first.. if it does knock me out, I'll just have to find an alternative to use during the week for sure! thank you again!!!!
I am not new to Med Help (spent lots of time in the Pregnancy forums while hubby and I were Trying To Conceive the last 2 years) but I am new to this Forum. I have some questions and hope I can pick some of your brains.... My husband will be 23 next month. About 4 weeks ago while in the shower he had an extreme pain shoot through the bottom of his head where the head reaches the neck on the rt. side. The pain was so extreme that it nearly knocked him to the ground.
Clearly my blood pressure is through the roof and I feel hyped up and not in a good way. Hopefully that will help me. I don't know how much longer this will last, hopefully not long.
I think about how I can make life good for my family and others in my community. I am a huge history buff and the similarites are astounding. Do some research. Your not nuts, just obessed. You can help. You can change your fate. You can't control the world. But you can control yourself. Hope I helped.
People have been very nice, and have made allowances for my being sick, and I now have a few days to rest. But I'm wondering how long it'll take to get back to normal. Next week I start physical therapy for my shoulder, and I'm on pain medication (2 mg. dilaudid 4 times a day), which really isn't much. My primary physician strontly suggested I get off the oxycodone (10 mg.) I was taking at night along with 30 mg. of temazepam to help me sleep.
with an eyebrow piercing that she did in the middle of the night herself (I can't imagine how much THAT hurt) and all of her gorgeous long long blond hair shaved off to 1/4" long. I looked on the floor at all that gorgeous hair and can't tell you how I almost died. Thank GOD she is now 18 and the piercings and shaved head are long gone. You see - I need the Ambien to FORGET what they've done...not vica versa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
