I was debating between Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen or Othro Tri Cyclen Lo.. I am currently on Ortho Cyclen but I was thinking why am I pumping all this hormones into my body each month.
Me and my partner also use condoms as backup.
I am even willing to try other brands if 1 is better?
I guess I just dont under the difference between them all and the effect on your body good/bad.

Ortho tri cyclen is designed to help clear up your acne.....I was one of it's major selling points. And as for the weight thing...I took it for over two year and never gained any wheight and it dramatically reduced my acne. I have never gained weight from a BCP only the shot (depo) but everyone is different......if it does make you gain weight its supposed to be minor.
Now my causing says that the name brand has pink pills insted of green ( the last 7 pills ) and it spins to dispence every pill, and trinessa you have to punch trough the bottom to get the pills... Now I just want to know how the name brand of ortho tri cyclen really looks like, if anyone can provide a pic would be very helpful ...... Please I don't need anyone making fun of me here so for anyone that thinks this is just too stupid please don't post anything here ...
I have had a hormonal imbalance for 2 years (producing too much androgen) and in that time I had gained quite a bit of weight. I am now taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen and have actually begun to FINALLY start losing weight. My weight loss is not much yet, but I was wondering if taking these birth control pills is actually the reason for my weight loss?
I went to the gyno yesterday and was given Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo to help regulate my periods. I have not had a period since March 2008. My doc told me to begin my first month of pills on the Sunday following the beginning of my next period. Problem is, i don't have any idea when that could be. Does anyone know if it would be harmful for me to begin taking the pills now and not wait for my next period?

Ok...so i began taking the ortho tri-cyclen lo last friday as the quick start option. I am normally supposed to be on my period right now. BUT it has not started yet and i'm beginning to worry. Does taking the pills as the quick start prevent my period from normally happening? Or is it supposed to just start when i get to the "inactive" pills in the pack? Should i be worried that i may be pregnant??
I have already posted a question, but I'm switching birth control's Friday, and I'm think about going on Ortho Tri-Cyclen because I heard it's almost the best birth control you can find. Any other suggestions??
I just started taking ortho tri cyclen lo birth control pills august 4, 2013. s been on anti biotics, every cream, lotion, face wash ect. and nothing helped. EXCEPT for the ortho tri cyclen. The mini pill does nothing for her acne and that's why she wanted to go back on it. HOWEVER; I believe we've found a solution until her body can get used to this pill. I bought her those "sea bands" for nausea. She put them on both wrists and 10 min. later her nausea is completely GONE! We both were stunned. Didn't think it would work.
Okay I am wanting to start birth control not for the usual reason. I want to start it to lighten my periods and help my acne clear up. I've already talked to my mom about it and she supports me on it. I just don't know exactly which pill to look into. Anybody have suggestions? I'll of course do more research but I need some ideas. I was taking Ortho Cyclen for 2 months and my doctor changed my pills to Ortho Novum. I bled a little when i started the new prescription, about 3 days before the inactive pills, I bled very very little (like 2 days but not enough to even use a tampon). I am 5 days into my new pill pack. I take my pills before bed and i did forget twice last month but took them as soon as i woke up.(between my 2 and 3rd week) I have been feeling moody lately and pretty crampy.
