And, I just finished tapering for 4 months of of Opana ER and Opana IR. Then, I went to tx for the last 1/3. The anxiety got so bad that I really needed help. I couldn't function! I am happy to learn more about your situation, and discuss it with you. I really think I will be able to understand "where" you are. I know Opana, and not many people do. So please give me a little more info, either in a private message or here, and I will be very happy to help as much as I can.
Endo has been the major distributor of oxymorphone throughout the world and currently markets oxymorphone in the United States and elsewhere as Opana and Opana ER. Opana is available as 5 mg and 10 mg tablets; Opana ER, an extended-release form of oxymorphone, is available as tablets in strengths of 5 mg, 7½ mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 30 mg, and 40 mg.
Trying to find out how long I can expect this to last... 2 weeks, 3 weeks, more? My doctors office act perplexed that I am still having symptoms, is there such a thing as being highly dependent on a drug? What can I do to speed up the process?
From what I've read, cutting the ER version of opana does NOT bypass the time release. Opana was made to try to deter people from abusing the oxycontin inside. The old pills marked OC had just a time release layer around the outside that could be taken off and the drug could then be abused. As a work around they made the time release process different, so cutting the pill or "dissolving" the time release layer wont work anymore.
I am currently taking Opana ER 30mg /2 TID for long term spinal pain due to breaks and fusions. I am going to try replacing that for a short time with a Fentanyl Patch to see if I have any improvement in Pain Mgmt. I am just wondering what regimen I should use to safely do this. For example. Is it as easy as waiting 12 hrs. after my last Opana ER and then apply the patch (it's a 3 day patch) then take another ER once the 3 days has expired?
has anyone gotten headaches and felt drowsy on opana er? does this possible side effect go away as your body adjusts like most side effects...OR...is this known to continue w/ opana use? also...if you do end up going up on dosage does that start the side effects all over again or once you go thru intial adjustment u could be home free? fyi--i've been on lortab, vicoden, norco and percocet in the past (at seperate times) and lortab-no drowsy or headache vicoden-drowsy norco-indifferent...
how long do these withdrawals last if I'm on day 14 and was throwing up today and still feel all those symptons they say happens to you? i stopped cold turkey and i just want to know when all the pain will go away.
Hi, everybody. Has anyone in the group had experience with Opana? Or know what's in it? I was on a couple of versions of extended release morphine, first Avinza, and then Kadian, with moderate impact. My PM doctor suggested that because the system gets used to a drug, its effectiveness can decline over time, thus requiring more of the med to accomplish the same result.
Have you had issues with withdrawal symptoms coming on suddenly? I know the Opana ER doesn't last 12 hours (even my doc warned me this was the case) but this latest batch of opana seems to poop out & give me old sweats about 4 hours after taking it. As I said, I sorta expect pain to come back early, but until this refill I've never had withdrawal symptoms come unless I've not taken any Opana in at least 20 hours!
I've asked about the blood test over the phone, the day after I was reprimanded, WITH NO SUCESS OR COMMENT ABOUT IT!! I EVEN ASKED AN ER DOC., how the Opana ER, could possibly, NOT SHOW IN MY URINE!! HE replied, I don't know, YOU TELL ME????? There's obviously a close-minded view of things out there, WHICH IS MIND-NUMBING, because, I TOOK THIS MEDICINE!!!!! THERE'S OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON WITH THIS MEDICATION????? UNEASY IN N.C.

My doctor gave me diazipam for help but I have had to increase this medication as needed. No more than 5mg at a time but how long does this withdrawal last. Shouldn't I be getting some results? I get some sleep but last night my legs were doing a dance on me I could not control. That was rough but of course I made it through with the help of the diazipam. When will there be light at the end of the tunnel. I know there has got to be and July 12 will be a month off the fentanyl.
I am not sure from your post if you are on opana or opana ER, and how many times a day you are taking it. Would you clarify that, so I have an idea of where you are at. When we read these post, especially the rare few about Opana and/or Opana ER, it can be so frightening. This has caused so much fear in me, but I have tapered down a great deal. I find the hard thing about Opana ER is that it cannot be cut, so the drop is really significant.
For what little it's worth, I've been on Opana 40 mg. twice a day (ER-extended release) for about four months now. I feel that it's been the most effective of the ER drugs I've been prescribed, with only nominal side effects.. Cheers!
I guess what my question is, Does anyone have any real information on how long the new formula was evaluated for, and if it wasn't just a way for the makers of oxycontin to have a new med patent to keep exclusive rights to for whatever the time length they get to keep the drug formula to themselves for? And is the ingredient that makes the pills tamper proof considered an" inactive ingredient" which to my understanding is somehow not importan .
Magnesium really really helped me with the creepy crawlies and restlessness. The last thing I wanted to do was move around but it does help some. Take cool baths when feeling hot and hot baths when feeling cold. Take as many as you need to. Wear loose fitting cotton clothes. Try try and distract yourself somehow,,whether watching a movie or a show. I would play games on the computer,,DVR all my shows and cuddle up in bed.
this is my first day without taking anything in a few months. i didnt sleep at all last night. how long does no sleep last?
for any CII script filled, so the most you could fill at one time was 100 tablets, capsules, patches, etc., but no restriction on how long that had to last - you could fill one every day if the situation required it. The question of upper dose is nearly always up to the judgement of the prescriber. There are often administrative limits by insurance or whoever is paying (e.g., Medicare), though those most often are aimed at controlling costs more than they are concerned with therapeutic value.
i am on 30 mg opana er and 5 mg opana. they are good, but they have been causing severe drowsiness so much that i have been nodding off at work, and have been asked to take a medical leave of absence. Now I dont know what to do they don't want me to come back till i'm drug free, but i have chronic back pain.. i cannot work w/out pain med..its too much pain to handle...right now im seeing about getting a spinal cord stimulator put in..
It has taken me 4 months to get from 40 mg Opana ER three times a day plus some 10mg PRN Opana IR to three 10 mg Opana ER daily plus three to four Opana IR daily. I have now just switched all the ER to IR. This is why I am awake at 3 am now! And hoping (Unlike last night) to get some more sleep). 44 days is a fair amount of time to taper, and it seems to me that doing it over this amount of time will minimize rebound pain! I am still on about 10 (much lower mg) Opana IRs a day.
On a earlier post I said i kicked my bf out because i keep catching him trying to score percs, opana, roxys and so on out on the street. The last time we decided to work it out and get a MRI to find the problem they had found this.. "L4-L5 there is disc desiccation and slight loss of disk height. there is central disc protrusion and mild facet hypertrophy. this results in mild neural foraminal stenosis. there is minimal effacement of the ventral thecal sac.
Does anyone know how long it takes to feel the effect of the pain patch?
that doesn't mean taking them 24/7.....There is a max per day.... You need to contact your Dr. and ask them how long your prescriptions should be lasting.... Also...one should never be relying just on the narcotic to help lessen your pain..It's only meant to be one small piece of the puzzle... There is exercise, PT, aqua therapy, injections, massage, acupuncture, TENS unit, yoga/stretching, muscle relaxer if needed...nerve pain if needed....depression meds if needed.....counseling....
How long does ultram withdrawal sypmtoms last? This is day 2 without them and I had to call off work because of how sick I am.
