The pain has gotten better physically but I am wondering how long does the whole process of a miscarriage last? I was 5 weeks along. Just a few minutes ago I went to the bathroom and I am passing alot more blood and clots.

Hi, I had D&C done last 3 days ago and I just wanted to know how long does the bleeding last after you've undergone the procedure. I was pregnant with my first child at 5wks & 5 days. After weeks of waiting, when the baby should've been at its 7th week, it did not grow & stayed at 5 wks. My doctor had to advise a D&C to terminate the pregnancy. My doctor told me that I will be bleeding but forgot to mention how long it usually last.

Mine only lasted probly. 6 days...last 2 was very light and almost nothing...

I'm sorry for your loss. When I miscarried I bled for a week (After finding out I lost the baby) But I had been bleeding for 4 days prior to finding out. If your concerned about the bleeding, consult your doctor. I hope you're feeling okay.

c there is minimal to little bleeding as most of the lining has been scraped off, both my normal doctor and the professor that I saw told me to count the first day of my miscarriage as the first day of my cycle, with my last miscarriage I ovulated on day 16 as my levels had dropped 4 days after I finished bleeding, the time it takes for your period to return depends on how quickly your hcg levels come down, if they're dropping slowly then it will take longer for your next cycle to return

im so sry for what happened to you and your husband ... i dont know how long it takes but you should call your doctor and ask he or she should talk to you and hopefully in someway give you the answer you seek and hopefully some words of consolment...

When all was said and done, I called my doctor to see when I should go in for a follow up, but he told me one was not needed since it seemed as though everything went fine (as if anything about a miscarriage is fine!). He never once spoke as to how long I should wait before trying to conceive other than saying that I shouldn't have a problem getting preggo again. My hubby and I decided to not wait and started trying to conceive immediately after I was no longer bleeding.
