Avatar m tn have only been on effexor 150 for a few days. not working yet.
1226489 tn?1267201838 In order to continue to provide you with immediate relief from your anxiety, it is often useful to begin an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety simultaneously due to the fact that the antidepressant (i.e., Wellbutrin SR in your case) will take about four weeks to get in to your system and start working. While my guess is that your doctor would like to see you perhaps halve your current dose of 0.25mg Klonopin in addition to beginning 0.
Avatar f tn but he said thats only if you r prone to seizures...so i went to drug checker and put in all my meds ritalin, xanax and wellbutrin....it says the combo of wellbutrin and ritalin really increases the chance of seizures and so does the xanx..so im scared to take it now,dr also said i could drink a couple beers and i think that increases seizures to.............I have never had a seizure so maybe im worried for nothing ..anyone been on this combo?
Avatar n tn My husband was taking Wellbutrin sr 150 the doctor upped him to 200 sr and they gave him buprion 200 sr(on the bottle it says just Bupr). He had lots of energy on the Wellbutrin sr150 and was a pleasure to be arounds, but on this 200 buprionsr he goes to sleep and is like snappen at me all the time. After reading some of these questions I am worried that things are going to go back to the way they were before he started taking his meds.
Avatar n tn Generally, Wellbutrin helps when SSRIs like Prozac cause a decrease in sexual desire.
Avatar n tn Has anyone else experienced heartburn with Wellbutrin, and if so how did you treat it and did it eventually go away? I'm wondering if a switch from SR to XL is indicated in order to slow the release of the drug to potentially help with my stomach issues. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I am having really bad anxiety and i dont know if it is from the medication or me worrying about taking it. How long does it take take effect? anything anyone could tell me would be great.
Avatar f tn I just want to put in a word of caution. Many people quit a drug without problems. That is no protection for those who don't, and while it may have worked for you this time, it might not next time.
800430 tn?1237762624 I personally have a weird reaction to Wellbutrin (I break out in a rash) but I know a number of people who take it successfully. It may take time for the drugs to take effect. However drinking is probably not helping as the drug will have a reaction with the alcohol. Good luck!
Avatar f tn And very importantly it does take communication between you and your doctor so that he does understand how all of this is affecting you. I think that it is good to worry (slightly) about anything you take. People who take meds without understanding what is going on are really open for anything to happen. I do have the feeling that you are still a bit unsure as to why you are taking the ritalin and its possible effects on you.
Avatar n tn I've been on Wellbutrin XL 150 mg for about 6 months...I recently started taking once a day SR...to me the SR is less effective...I don't fell anything...it doesnt really feel like it curves my depression. I only tried it to compare the difference...I prefer the 2x a day I feel much better and actually feel it working...thats just my personal experience...however when I talked to my M.D. the switch wasn't harmful I guess its the chemical reaction to ur brain/body...good luck!
Avatar n tn I should add, although this is an old post, the above mischaracterized how Wellbutrin works. It doesn't just work on dopamine, it also works on norepinephrine.
Avatar m tn I've been off work for 3 months now and have just maxed out on Wellbutrin SR to help with major depression. It's not helping so now I need to try another AD. I took Prozac a few years ago and had good success for a few years, so I think my next step to try the Prozac again. I tried Effexor for about 8 months but it never really helped. I experienced extreme withdrawal from it while switching to wellbutrin.
Avatar f tn It is not an over dose and I am no doctor. That is the dosage my doctor gave me in fact he wanted me to take 2 150 mg a day. It didn't agree with me so I stopped... the ringing was even louder. I get ringing in my ears from aleve also , just from 1 pill.,I don't even take that anymore either. Anyway the ringing is driving me crazy so I won't be taking any more of this bupropion sr.
Avatar f tn I was on Paxil for almost fifteen years but switched to Wellbutrin SR 150 mg 1x daily two weeks ago. I have experienced every side effect in the book so far--nausea, dizziness, and severe muscle pain. I have not noticed any benefits yet to this medication. My mood is flat other than wanting to burst into tears, and I am ANGRY. When will (and do?) the side effects fade? When does the Wellbutrin start to boost mood? I have had a return of sexual function, for which I am grateful.
950277 tn?1247274551 Did I build up a tolerance for the Wellbutrin? I made a doctor appt for next week. Just want to hear what others know about this drug. Thanks for your time.
Avatar n tn how long have you been doing this? I am on 275 effexor and 150 long acting wellbutrin and my starch cravings do me in, So i will research if cymbalta could substitute for the wellbutrin which acts differently that effexor and the cocktail is otherwise acceptable. But if you know somethinghere about cymbalta v. Wellbutrin, I'd love to know.
Avatar f tn 5 months does seem like a long time to endure depression. 5 minutes is a long time to endure depression. But in reality, 5 months is barely enough time to find the right medication. You should have tried several by now. Oh, Effexor is sometimes given for anxiety if I'm not mistaken and also for pain. I'm surprised they haven't tried it yet, unless there is a reason.
1649932 tn?1348082640 Yes. Take it. Your meds are there to help you. Not everyone experiences relief from anti depressants, however many do. My experience with wellbutrin was that it did not improve my depression. I had to change my lifestyle, increase my physical activity, regulate my sleep and diet, and develop meaningful ways of using my time. However, if your symptoms are a result of a chemical imbalance and not lifestyle factors, the medication will help.
599170 tn?1300973893 Prozac and Celexa are both ssris, for example, but are very different in how they work, how long they remain in the body, how hard it is to stop taking them, etc. Like night and day, and yet each is in the same class of med. So do whatever you feel is best, but don't get discouraged if the results aren't what you expect -- that's just how this very inexact game is played. Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I am taking anti depressants Zyprexa 5mg, Cipralex 20mg & Wellbutrin SR 150mg. When I am busy I am fine as soon as I think of anxiety my anxiety level starts to increase and becomes realy disturbing and uncomfortable. What can I do to control my fear of anxiety?
Avatar f tn t know how bad I felt. If I am not mistaken Wellbutrin was used to treat anxiety long before it became a drug used for smoking cessation. As with any new med give it time to reach a therapeutic level and watch your symptoms. If you feel it isn't working do what you did before...see your dr. Hang in there sooner or later you will hit on the med that is right for you.
Avatar f tn Is it possible for hot flashes to go away with taking only 150 mg of bupropion sr. I know from what I read it can cause them, but I already have them pretty severe, and it seems better is this possible?
1756969 tn?1332437163 We're all different when it comes to what medications work best for each of us. Where one has had great results from Celexa...another has not. Are you in therapy for your eating disorder? If not, it's a good place to start. The only way you will know what will work best for you is by trying it.
Avatar f tn Hello! I have been on Wellbutrin for about five years now and while it does help with depression, I have noticed tight stomach, horrible gross gas, acid reflux, constipation and 15 lb weight gain. I went off a couple of years ago and of course list the fifteen pounds of belly I had been carrying and digestive issues ceased. Doctors have always a tried to tell me it’s my diet, not the meds, but happened regardless of what I ate, how I exercised (and constant bloated feeling made that difficult).
