He is 7 years old and I'm not keen to irritate by massaging or placing warm clothes on his face. How long does it really take to heal? Anyone can provide a timeline based on experience would be grateful. Thanks.
Please know you are not alone. This Forum has really helped me! I''m on day 9 off FENTANYL & day 3 off Darvocet. I used the Darvocet to help with the Fentanyl WD's. Fentanyl is waaaay stronger than Morphine! Anyway, I'm feeling better today. I woke up with a little bit of a craving for the Darvocet, but what I did was EAT! I lost 19 pounds in 2 months on the Fentanyl. I look bad! But, i don't care. Just make the leap & get started!
after the surgery it was as if no one would talk to me about what the hell was going on. what kinda of rod did they put in? how long will it take to heal? why does my knee and ankle HURT SOO BAD? My ankle has been brusied and swollen with extremeley limited range of motion since the surgery 30 days ago. when will this go away? In my foot i have numbess in some areas and high sensitity in others. is this normal? also, the hosiptial gave me an EBI ORTHOPAK 2 to speed recovery.
I'm asking because if it is a simple hairline fracture, and not a clean break, you can just do cage rest (along with any neccessary med's) and hope for the best. As long as it isn't a split or serious fracture it would likely heal fine. If there is a lump, you've got to worry about infection and inflammation (although infection is more serious, and WOULD need med's. The latter...you should, but with cage rest it may go down as it heals). Ah, does Beckett put ANY weight on the paw at all?
Atleast now, I feel ok physically its just the restless leg, which brings me to my question. HOw long do you think it will take before it goes away.. When i stopped about 8 months ago for about 5 days it went away, so I'm assuming that its gonna take about 10 this time around, what do you think?? It usually is only bad for a couple of nights, then its tolerable but still there, you know? I'm just gonna have to suck it up because I want to get through this and be done with it.....
I was afraid they were going to die. It was very hard for me to watch the entire experience. I saw firsthand how heroin can ravage people. Do Not do it! Do Not try it! One of them told me he was addicted after the first time he tried it because he felt so good. That led to 10 years of sordid hell.
The official diagnosis is, Tibial Plateau Fracture, Level 4. (Clean_in_KS, feel free to Google it) I will require surgery to put in a plate and screws to put my leg back together. Next step is an MRI to determine what is sure to be ligament damage. I had a very long talk with my doctor yesterday, she is completely aware of my issues with pain pill abuse. She told me not to be a martyr, and that this is a serious injury. She wants me to take Diluadid for pain.
First, can someone point to a reliable web site where they list the symptoms? Second, how long I can expect this general lousy feeling last? And last, how long will it take to get back to a feeling where I want to do more than just lay around all day? Thank you all in advance for answering my questions.
My question is if that is normal once it has been removed and how long does it last. I had it in for over a year but wanted it removed because my husband and I are planning for another baby. So I have one more question, how long could it take to conceive once it is removed? and is it safe to try the first month that it has been removed?
I have a very long background story that I must give because it is a very important part of my current situation. Here goes: In 2012, symptoms began appearing in my left lower extremity (left leg) & my upper right extremity (right shoulder, arm & hand). Symptoms progressed rapidly all the while working with the Orthopedic surgeon getting numerous tests (MRIs, Nerve Conduction Studies, Myelogram).
then step 2 is sub-diving the can-do's into priorities or the methods you will use to take care of the problem. So, the old bicycle with a broken seat and a flat tire -that goes into "can do" because the repairs seem pretty straightforward and the results will be like a new bike. But it gets a low priority because there are more important things. Anyway, this process I'll call CLASSIFICATION. Separate and CLASSIFY.
broke my tibia playing football[no displacement] in cast 12 weeks and there is mot much healing was told to come back in 8 more weeks for check up how long does it take and what can i do to help healing i try to stay active play pitch&put is hard but gives me something to do.
I am going to have surgery quite soon for my herniated/broken disc. I wondered how long if anyone has had this, how long is recovery? I mean how long for pain? WIll I feel great right away and be able to do normal things? Now, a relative who thinks they are the only one with pain and mostly lies, so I don't know whether to believe them or not said our grandfather had the surgery and was up literally dancing right after surgery that day.
There is one thing that I do struggle with is the sex drive is gone, is that normal or is that too personal to ask on here? Thanks for letting me know about how long it stays Suzi....
I am on day 54 and I still have rough, down days, but they are fewer and farther between now. It takes time for your brain and body to heal. Try to be patient. For a while in the beginning, it seems that you just have to go on blind faith and believe the people who have gone before you. It does get better. I promise. Hang in there.
I fractured my tailbone while delivering my last child and it was two years before I could sit through long driving trips without feeling the pain. So it does take a long time for it to completely heal. The donut doesn't work for me but I can sit on an exercise ball so if one doesn't work, try the other. Ibuprofen works great but I only take it when I go to bed so I can get some sleep. And then I don't use it every night. Just when needed.
Just looking for some advice dont know if I need a sling, need a doctor, or if it just needs time to heal?
thing (with MYLAN only) on the 25's for about a month and got it down to about a third of a patch for about 2 weeks and then nothing. I am miserable. My doctor has been very cooperative, she gave me clonapin, neurontin, but I still cannot sleep due to the restless legs. I have absolutely no energy, am extremely depressed, feel like every bone in my body is broken and I don't feel like I am getting better.
I'm starting a new job and they will ask for a drug test. How soon do I need to get off of them so it don't show up on my test. Thanks.
He shows no sign of affection/emotion, etc and has been on it a week and a half. I see that it can take a few weeks for a dog to get used to the new side effects. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can keep him safe during this time? He is an indoor dog and bc of his bathroom issues right now we leave him in the kitchen all the time. But even then, if he pees on the floor he is stepping in it and falling (we have tile floors).
My doctor told me to take Neurontin as well, and I had a horrible reaction to it, and refused to take it. He put me on a steroid instead, and that cleared both up within 3-4 weeks. Not quick, but I did get relief. I still have numbness along my left calf, and into my foot, but nothing like the excrutiating pain of this summer. Maybe you can ask your doctor about treatment using a steroid? I hope you feel better very soon.
As your nerves knit together, you will feel very odd things. It will feel numb for a while, but the sensation does return although some people end up with a permanent numb spot at the top of the wound. Have you had your stitches out yet from the drain tube locations?
I have been going down the gym recently and find it annoying that I cant run...........The consultant seems to think it will take upto a year to get back to normal. The swelling is also very frustrating. I want the metal work removed when I can, has anyone ever had it removed? Is it an improvement?
I really don't know, but if it helps the way everyone says it does, I'd like to know about it. Thanks for all your help.
Wish I would of tapered but it is what it is. Just stay strong this wont last forever. It is a long process but it does get better. Eventually we will be back to our normal selves again, feeling amazing. I just asked God to make sure I remember this b/c I NEVER want to experience this s*** again!! God Bless!!
Hi, Yes, if you have ligament instability and you have fracture too and on top of that if you do weight bearing without getting ligament stability then it would be difficult for fracture union. Even if it does heal, we have to monitor the progress. Bye.
Haven't gotten another because we go so much, it isn't fair to the dog and plus would cost a fortune for the doggie motel for as long as we are on the go, but mostly not fair to the dog.
I started taking percs when I was about 23 just for fun then got hurt at work and found out how easy it was to cop a scrip from a doctor. I was getting 240 a month from two doctors, and spending anyware from $150.00 to 200.00 a month in addition to my script. So when I was about 28 I decided to stop taking percs my doc put me on methadone it was the worse thing that ever happen to me.
