psychotic

Avatar f tn Yes there is some research that expresses that concern so that is why there are studies to have anti-psychotics be used in children who may be exhibiting potential signs of psychosis although this is clinically controversial. I now know I always had behavior that was unusual and somewhat abnormal since I was a child, first started having psychotic thoughts when I was 13 and then at the age of 18 had a full psychotic break.
Avatar m tn My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?
Avatar m tn my 22 year old son just experienced a psychotic break. I need to understand how he was feeling. Is there anyone who has personally experienced this, and would be willing to describe what you felt? I am desperate to understand what he is going through.

447130 tn?1225470866 I know someone who was very depressed in their bipolar cycle & has recenlty been traumatized, then had a complete meltdown which the docs called a Psychotic Break? They are hospitalized for being a danger to themselves & others. I don't have much more info than that. What does this mean? Is it temporary? How long can it last & does anyone know how long you can be held by law? Or is that a state by state issue? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn How many pills were you taking a day and for how long? Your WD sound not bad at all. If I could just be tired and have insomnia I would go CT stat! Good for you for getting off meds. your a smart person to do this. Day 3 is worst and after 7 days things should get much better. hang in there.
Avatar f tn I ended up taking a straight month off work but luckily my boss was understanding. I hope that your sickness doesnt last anywhere near as long as mine did but wanted to give you a heads up just incase.
Avatar m tn I am sorry but a doctor, especially on this forum, would have to see you in person and go over you and your family history along with medical conditions and medicines. You really need to get into a hospital for a full evaluation. Probably long term, like 30 days or more. It is going to take time and your commitment but in the long run ir will be worth it. Get help now, please.
603015 tn?1329862973 Yes of course like anything else. Before I recovered I would know things were not going well. I would not of course know the specifics. I would then speak to my psychiatrist. But if someone is completely psychotic they lose track of reality completely. As well a person's awareness they that have a psychiatric disability can be completely lost. I did once before I recovered stop medication and of course have to sign myself into the psychiatric hospital.
1058261 tn?1256057540 I want to wake up every morning and that not be the first thing I think of. So here goes my question how long does the leg pain last going through W/D? How long will my energy level be zapped? I feel like even walking a short distance is a struggle. thanks for any advice you can give me.
Avatar f tn As to your question that's complex. A manic episode is a mental change in that its a break from reality. A person's emotions are not normative to what is going on. It may impair judgement such as the grandiosity typical for mania where a person has an inflated sense of self importance. As for psychosis that is a sharp break from reality in logical and normative thinking.
Avatar f tn t go back in time, but I really need to know how long will the apathy and insomnia last. Could anybody with the same symtomps tell me how long they can last? Can they stay for ever, or do they always go away in time? Please tell me, because I can hardly handle these withdrawal effects and I need to know they will go away.
