Avatar f tn I am taking Carafate for a gastric erosion with gastritis. All of the ppi medicines failed to help. How long should it take to see an improvement in symptoms with Carafate? I've only been on it for 4 days so far. I usually have pain everyday and have been dealing with this for about a year now.
Avatar f tn Did your doc even bother to do a strep test or anything? Strep throat can also cause ulcers in the throat and mouth and strep is definitely something that neeeds to be treated with antibiotics.
Avatar n tn s really no way to be able to give you any kind of estimate on how long it will take gastritis to heal. Every person will heal at a different rate. However gastritis can persist for long periods of time even with the PPIs. Alcohol and tobacco are unfortunately not going to help the healing process. In addition, you may want to look into following a GERD-friendly diet. You can find a representative example at gicare.com.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. It could be that the injury you have caused has got infected, hence the swelling and pain. This is more so if you are running a temperature. You will need antibiotics to tackle the infection. Please consult your dentist for the same. In addition take OTC acetaminophen for the pain and fever. You can take this three times a day. Take OTC multivitamins rich in riboflavin to counter the mouth ulcers.
Avatar f tn Thank you for the advice. I've started a food journal today and decided to restrict my diet even further for right now, and try some 'natural remedies' I've read about. My main goal is to heal the ulcers and then I will be able to treat occasional heartburn flare ups.

Avatar m tn The pupil in the effected eye is still slightly dialated and my vision is still a little blurry. Is this normal? How long can it take for the herpes outbreak to heal? Also, and advise on dealing with a recurrence?
Avatar m tn Treat was Prilosec (omeprisole) for 14 day and swish with Maalox to heal. That has work up until about a month or so ago. Now they are in my throat and the said treatment doesn't seem as affected. I view it as I caught a virus and is activate when you have a gastric episode. I had an EMT look at my throat. He said he saw healing and no concerns. Magic Mouthwash. Verdict not out on this product, especially since I can't swallow it. Anyhow, in the the throat concerns me. Any thoughts?
209674 tn?1213699635 I used to get mouth ulcers all the time as a teenager but someone told me it could be vitamin B deficiency. So I started taking tablets and the problem went away! Now I dont take them all the time but if I feel one coming (which is very rare now) I quickly take my tablets!
Avatar n tn After the 10days I still had a sore throat that feels like an ulcer down my throat, and I also still had about 10 mouth ulcers as well as swollen gums. I went to my Internal MD and he put me on Medrol dose pack and Levaquin. This initially helped w/ the mouth ulcers but the one down my throat got much worse. I was given a Celestone inj and put on Orapred. Also taking Pepsid. Throat neg for strep and mouth ulcers neg for Herpes. This helped for about 3 days but then the pain has come back.

Avatar f tn Has anyone else experience ulcer/gastritis without pain and only nausea? How long will this persist? Any help or advice I can get from someone with the same symptoms would help me greatly. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I also seem to be belching a lot. How long can I reasonably expect this to last and is there anything I can do to help make this feel better? How can I tell if there is really something in my throat or if this is just a feeling? In my case, did this come about by the stomach acids burning the esophagus or did it cause an esophageal spasm? Just wondering what I am really feeling as it is distressing. Any knowledge on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn but I just recently ended up with Bursitis in my left shoulder..the doctor knows that I have ulcers and prescribed me Ibuprofen...but he told me to take either Prilosec or Zantac with it..I am still very apprehensive about taking it..but I feel that is the only thing that will make the inflamation go down...
Avatar n tn Does it normally take that long for keratitis to heal? He did not give me any drops as he said it was just inflammation and not an infection.
Avatar m tn i was a bit sceptical, he offered to do a strep throat test but he didnt think it was strep throat as my throat is fine, so we didnt do the test. However over the last 3 days i have developed red areas on the inside of my lips and also above my upper teeth, not red around my teeth but further up. its also quite inflamed. i still have the sores at the back of my throat but my toncit area is now also red. im worried of gingervitis (sorry abou that spelling!
Avatar f tn relax, be patient and do not push urself and set limits it will take as long as it takes...we all are going to take diff rates of time,....so let ur body heal...
Avatar f tn I get the same thing - told by doc that is was GERD and IBS - which is so general, I don't believe. I belief it is LOW acid in the stomach - so low it can't digest foods. The stomach is naturally acidic which is how it breaks down food. What I have done since is take a half shot of true apple cider vinegar 5 mins. before eating each normal meal. breakfast, lunch dinner - and eat a little less at each serving - let your stomach adjust to digesting food properly.
