My husband and friends try, but they really don't understand how I can still feel so bad after all this time. Or how I can possibly still be having so much pain from swollen glands in my neck after so much medicine and time. Seems to stump my doctor too!! And I'm not sure, but I don't think that's a good sign when you stump the doctor!
i tested negative at 21 days. freeking out do raised glands alone suggest anything as i really cant see how else i got them.
Ie wouldn't it be likely to have swollen glands in his neck and groin as well as arms? Are lymph nodes usually detectable by touch? Sight? We cannot feel any individual 'nodes' just a general noticable swelling and pain beneath the arms. There have been no other symptoms that we can think of. Are swollen glands/nodes also associated with other std's?

It's all of my joints from my ankles to my knuckles. This just started the last few days. How long ago were you diagnosed? How are you doing? Are you in remission?
To update, I saw a new doctor last week in regards to the swollen glands. She took my sitting and standing bp and noted they were a little high (and got higher when standing) so asked me to check back in a week and retake the blood pressure. Last weeks: 140/90 sitting, 150/80 standing (and heart rate about 105). Today's: 147/90 sitting, 162/101 standing. I have been having frequent dizzy spells for the past week in particular and sitting doesn't help.
They advised not only were her neck glands very swollen, but the glands in her upper legs were also swollen. I asked them to do a needle biopsy because I am frightened she may have lymphoma. They performed surgury on her back leg leaving a 3 inch hole. The took away about a 1/2 sq inch of tissue to be biopsied in the Guangzhou Vet training hospital. The dog was very sore following surgury and still (30 hours later) can not walk well. They are also giving her two different antibiotics.
~( Is he fussy like he is in pain??? Eating normaly??? I hope he is feeling better soon!
I still have a sore throat from time to time, and it feels as though my glands in the right side of my neck going to my ear are swollen and somewhat painful. I do lead a busy life in that I work full time, have a 50 minute commute to work, and also go to school full time. I am 56 years old and have never been diagnosed with mono before, so I don't know if the fatigue now is due to mono, or if I've just got so much going on that I am tired all the time.
This was the most informative article I found.
I always have and was wondering if anyone else out there that has these swollen nodes in neck also have problems with their teeth and also wondering if problems with teeth (infections and such) could cause the nodes in the back of the neck swell up. Also, the glands in the front of my neck have always been large... these problems I've experienced have gone on for years... So, I'm hoping its nothing serious because, if it is, and I have it for years.... what chance would I have?
I have never noticed these bumps before, so i have no idea how long they have been there. These lumps are painless and slightly rubbery. I know that swollen lymph nodes can be indicators of HIV and i have never been tested. Like i have said it has been almost a year since the first encounter with the man who had unprotected sex at least once before me. I know that HIV usually shows symptoms within a few weeks after the encounter once then the infected can become asymptomatic for up to 10 years.
I have also recently been dealing with severe stomach pains and issues, (usually in the morning) which I would guess has a fair amount to do with the constant use of the antibiotics. I have seen many doctors including specialists. I have had sinus surgery twice as well. None the less, this constant battle to be healthy has not helped my mental status. I am always feeling tired or “under the weather” The last five months or so are what I have been concerned with the most however.
1. Sore neck - my glands are swollen and my neck is actually sore to touch, it hurts to turn my head and when I yawn, cough or sneeze I get a sharp pain in my neck. 2. I have pressure in my ears, my neck, my mouth and my face. 3. I have intermittent feelings of a low-grade fever. They told me I had a sinue infection and gave me a decongestant (can't remember the name) and amoxycillin.
I know this sounds a little dramatic but all I can think about all day long is how bad I feel and how painfull my neck is. Any input would be wonderful THANK SO MUCH!!!

I started having popping and pressure in my ears 6 months ago along with swollen lymph nodes in neck and have recently started having dizzy spells after I pop my ears. One doctor says I have lupus, another says reflux and gastritis and another says allergies.... None of the medicines (allergy, nasal spray, mucinex, Pepcid), life style changes (diet and exercise), or holding my nose to pop my ears 10 to 12 times a day have helped and my lymph nodes continue to get larger.

Why do I have this feeling in my neck? She said: Don't know. -- and sent me on my way I had an ultrasound in 2002 that showed some nodules on the thyroid. No doctor addressed it. I continued to have this feeling in my neck. My shirts are all pulled out, I wear V necks, I put my hair up, I can't wear necklaces and I also cannot touch the front of my neck. It's hard to find a comfortable spot when sleeping because pressure below my jaw radiates.
Most of this has been going on for 6 months and then 1 week ago all the glands in the left side of my neck have swollen up and they are still swollen, with no sx of illness. I have been to many doctors and heard Rheumatoid arthritis (my rh factor is like 7) and ms. Any suggestions or comments would be wonderful. Thank You.
That is where I forget everything. I was in a major car accident and seriously injured and wound up in hospital. I can't tell you how it happened. I don't remember. I did tell the policeman about my running from a bad man. The hospital sent down a social worker who secretly works with the communities for battered women. After I healed up a little they sent me to my first shelter. I had no idea what to expect, but it was the path that was chosen for me, and I thank god for them.
Is this still persisting for you? I'm wondering how long this will last, and if a doctor would have any useful advice. Perhaps it is caused from a food allergy??
Hi! Yes, I did have some swelling in my lymph nodes in my neck and back of my head as well. They did not last long and I just chalked it up to another sx. My last dose of meds was on April 11 and the swelling is gone and has been for awhile. I too feel stronger though I really need to learn not to push it too fast. Last week I tried to do everything I haven't in six months and felt really tired by the end, almost like I was still taking the meds. Oh well, I had fun. Hope you feel better.
8 year old son has swelling in the right side of neck. Upon feeling lymph nodes it has been discovered they are larger and rock hard, non-movable. Located right above the collar bone. Swelling from the throat to the back of the neck. Pain around the node but not on the node itself. Antibiotics for 1 wk have not helped (cefdinir 300 mg twice daily). CT scan shows swelling of the tissue in the neck and son was referred to ENT specialist at Children's.
How do we know if our lymph nodes are swollen? How do they feel like? Are they visually noticeable? Are they painful? Or Are there any specific things we notice or feel when our lymph nodes are swollen? Are they all swollen at the same times? The reason is I've been checking my lymph nodes for so many times for days, and I could not figure out whether they are swollen or not. Thank you in advance for your explanation.
Okay, I've just talked myself out of cancer, b/c Advil wouldn't eliminate a tumor, even temporarily. Does anyone have a clue what can cause a sore throat, pink eye, fever, and swollen lymph glands/salivary glands?? My doc had me on a Z-pack for 5 days, and no reprieve. So, I guess it's not bacterial. I am healthy, go to regular checkups and have no real medical history, aside from the sinus/throat issues.
