Im scared to death and I need to know how long will these witdrawal symptoms last? Is anyone else doubled over in pain and have blood in stool?? I am new to this site and not real good at navigating it yet. Forgive me if you have already answered these questions. I have not been able to find all the answers and i am stuck with just a dial up modem. Any help would be much appreciated.
My question is, did you taper? Also, exactly how long did your withdrawal symptoms last? I feel like this is lasting forever!! I know that it will get better and I will normal again I would just like to know when?? I will fight this demon, I will keep strong.
Generally the worst of the w/d's will last 4-6 days, but not everyone is the same depending on how much, how long and how many we were using. The good news is you have only been taking them for 3 months and can put an end to this for good. Addiction is progressive, so stopping now is saving you a lot of grief down the road. If you look in the top right of this page, you will see health pages. In there is the thomas recipe and that can help ease w/d's a lil.
HI. I am on day 12 of suboxone withdrawal. It has been hell. How much long will this be going on? Im not sleeping more than an hour or 2 a night. When I jumped off, I was down to 2mg a day. I haven't been able to function at all. No work, barely able to get out of bed. It isn't getting better. I have pretty much accepted that I have condemned myself to a life of this agony. Please help.
Can anyone tell me if they quit suboxone @ 2 mg / day and how long w/d lasted, and how bad it was.
I heard from a friend that withdrawals can last months from long term suboxone use and that alone scares me I don't know if I'm that strong to suffer so long. Can some 1 please help and give me insight on how long the withdrawals will last or until I start feeling semi normal. I started taking only 2mg a day and now I'm up to 6mg a day.
it was a quick tapering by a doctor in this field. i still feel awful and am wondering if anyone has any idea how long this will last. i am on clonodine and clonazepam, both very low doses. i have missed three weeks of work and am frantic. any answers would be greatly appreciated.
People who have more w'd than they think is appropriate when stopping Suboxone forget, or don't know, what opiate withdrawal is like; it is well known that methadone withdrawal, for example, goes on for months and months. Heroin withdrawal tends to be shorter and more intense; the phrase 'kicking the habit' comes from the involuntary muscle movements during heroin withdrawal.
Hi there, Bennito! & Welcome. Thanks for posting. I've got to agree w/my friends above. You really should've be under a Dr's care on your taper not only because Subs are rough to come off of but because you're a bit misinformed & have definitely embarked on a dangerous course here. 400 mgs of Norco? To come off of 2 mgs of Subs. (That may sound like a low dose of Subs but it's not.) I'm not sure if you were ever prescribed the Subs or not but 24 mgs. is an over-the-top dose.
I jumped at 1mg and had some pretty severe withdrawal for a while. Im told that the withdrawal lasts so long coming off suboxone due to the long half life-- It stays in your system for a while after you take your last dose. I wont lie to you - it may be really tough the first 2 weeks. I found medhelp on day 8 and posted a panicked message not unlike yours begging anyone to tell me how long. And many came by to help thankfully.
ive been on suboxone and ONLY suboxone for about 5 months now. i was pretty surprised at how bad the suboxone withdrawal was...i was okay for the first two days and after about 48 hrs i went into pretty intense withdrawal. i am a tiny girl though (5", 97lbs) and i don't know if that really makes a difference but i was taking a little less than a quarter a day so our dosage is kinda close. today is day 7 and i feel SOOO much better. still a little down but i know that's normal.
Kova, I've been on suboxone for 5yrs now.. Even though suboxone is not a real opiate it does have its own symptoms that you will notice when you come off.. I've felt almost the same as when I came off methadone, shakey muscles, headaches, a lot of the symptoms I felt coming off methadone. You DO have to taper slowly off suboxone even down to 1 to 1/2mg. and even lower if needed. I hope the best for you n good luck........
I have been on Suboxone for over 3 years now, at one point I was up to 32mg a day. I tapered down to just 4mg a day. Today is the 5th day without any and I think I am going to die. My question is this, how long will this withdrawal last? It did not hit really hard until the 3rd day. I am used to opiate withdrawal and that used to be about 7 days.
Hello, I've been on Suboxone for a long time (2 years) and I am trying so very hard to get off it. I am currently taking between 1/4-1/8 of an 8mg tablet per day. I still feel very uncomfortable but I manage to get through the day. I am trying to get down to just a crumb and stay on that until I jump. I feel very depressed most of the day and my body feels heavy and weak. I know if I skipped a day on the Sub, I'd feel worse than I do already taking just an 1/8 of mg.
How long will suboxone withdrawal last? I am at 39 days off suboxone and still experiencing mild withdrawal. I was on sub. for around 2 1/2 yrs. and jumped off at 12mg. It is definitely not as bad as the first few weeks but this is lasting forever. I had to withdraw from college this quarter and haven't been back to work for a while. Is anyone going through the same situation?
i dont plan on going back to heroin, i actually enjoy the pain the subo0xone is bringing me. its just another reminder not to ******* do opiates. but i wanna know how long this will stick around for, because i work long hours in a restraunt and its really hard to keep up. ive had to take off early past 2 days because i was to tired to go on.
Congrats on your decision to get off suboxone. I know just how hard it is and I was never able to come off it ct and not relapse. I had to go ct off my doc because its so hard. You are 16 days clean so your pretty much through it. Thats huge! U should be proud of yourself because it is a killer to get off suboxone esp. 3 years of using 16mg. Wow. Thats awful that your doctor said youd be on it for life how old are you? Ive never heard that before only with methadone.
Hello. Suboxone has a pretty long drawn out withdrawal.. Unfortunately many of us suboxone users dont realize this until its time to quit. My best advise is to get down to even smaller amounts.. Like a quarter of a quarter.. or tiny crumb of sliver..then every other day.. You will probably have some withdrawal no matter what you do. Just brace yourself and hang in there.. All the normal tips for easing the withdrawal - lots of fluids, advil, hot baths, and exercise..
Does anyone have suggestions of things he can do to ease the symptoms? And anything I can do to help him physically and mentally? I'm so so so proud of him for trying to get better, but I feel like they really screwed him with the suboxone taper. It's really awful watching him go through this, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
It's surprising to me that there's so many people on this site who say they have experienced extreme withdrawal symptoms after they stop taking suboxone (even while completely following a doctor's plan). I've been on suboxone for almost 2 months now, but I've now started taking the suboxone sporadically. (Just an FYI, my dosage is supposed to be 16mg/day). I have gone two full days without taking any suboxone a couple of times now.
he cant ct from suboxone at this dosage he will be very sick for a long time. he needs to taper down to almost crumbs. suboxone is used as a maintenance drug to prevent addicts from chasing their high. he is still using but it is maintained. what did he use before he started the suboxone? does he go to counseling and/or support groups?
Make sure, no matter how good your taper plan is or how well you stick to it, that you have an emergency plan other than going out and scoring your drug of choice that you became addicted to in the first place- if the Bupe detox does not go well.
I am going to stop cold turkey tomorrow. Does anyone know how long my withdrawal will last and how bad it will be? I have heard withdrawal from Sub is milder than say.. vicodin or oxy. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
