351846 tn?1273615544 I have been on opiates for 10yrs and now suboxone for the last 3 my question is HOW LONG till my body stops wanting this stuff???!!!! Mentally I'm soo ready to stop but I cant without going through the usual: runny nose, chills, the runs and all the others.. I have weened myself to 1mg suboxone a day but that doesnt seem to be enough.. What do I do next??
Avatar n tn Those who have had the best successful stories concerning suboxone withdrawal ultimately got down to tiny crumbs or slivers of suboxone before quitting.. Unfortunately long term suboxone users have no way to do this pain free. There will be withdrawal. Everyone's story is differnt but the good stories I have heard are from those who went down to teeeny tiny amounts. And YES you will feel normal again (better than normal)--so long as you stay clean after sub.
Avatar n tn Hello to all I have been taking 5/500 Vicodin for about the last 3 months about 10-15 a day. I was wondering how bad my DT's could be and how long they may last. I'm scared and could really use some thoughts and any helpful advise from anyone. Thank you so much!
Avatar f tn When you take it the way you are supposed to it will ameliorate SOME of the withdrawal symptoms and make the withdrawal last a shorter period of time. It also helps with the post-acute withdrawal symptoms as well as blocking the action of any other opiates for a relatively long time. By taking them all at once you have potentially confused your system god only knows how. It is a very strong drug even though you will not feel what it is doing right away. Please don't relapse now.
Avatar f tn So, I'm just wondering how long withdrawal from Tramadol usually lasts. I have been doing a lot better lately; the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn s will last 4-6 days, but not everyone is the same depending on how much, how long and how many we were using. The good news is you have only been taking them for 3 months and can put an end to this for good. Addiction is progressive, so stopping now is saving you a lot of grief down the road. If you look in the top right of this page, you will see health pages. In there is the thomas recipe and that can help ease w/d's a lil. Best of luck and keep posting, you can do this man.

Avatar n tn On a positive note, I have been sleeping 8 and 9 hours. My Primary care physician said the withdrawal would last 2 weeks. Nope-while I have more good days than bad, the 1 or 2 days of the week that I don't feel well really ***** because it's hard to plan stuff as I never know when this sick feeling is going to happen. Well, I will carry on for now and hope this withdrawal goes away completely.
Avatar m tn 90 days is a common turning point, but it doesn't stop there. Yes, methadone can take a long time to recover from. I was on twice as much as you and it took me 10 months to feel good. It is rough, but totally worth it. Hang in there. Are you taking vitamins and getting enough electrolytes and amino acids? That really helps. What are your other symptoms, maybe we can help with supplements to get you through.
