Avatar f tn I keep reading that the worst of the withdraws last 3 to 4 days, and while i do feel better, I do not feel like I thought I would. I'm concerned that I'm just never going to feel normal again. If anyone has any information that would be of help i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.
Avatar f tn well you should start to feel better physically soon but the mental part of the withdrawal can be just as debilitating...how long depends on a lot of factors one is how long you used...your dose was up there...also your age has a lot to do with it im in my late 40s and it took me a wile to come back off methadone...
Avatar m tn how long w/d's last really varies from person to person. morphine was the 1st drug i ever got w/d's from back in 77. back then it was just a couple of days. now at this age, it would be more like 10 days. maybe more. laurel's advice is just what you need. good luck. let us know how you make out.
Avatar m tn 90 days is a common turning point, but it doesn't stop there. Yes, methadone can take a long time to recover from. I was on twice as much as you and it took me 10 months to feel good. It is rough, but totally worth it. Hang in there. Are you taking vitamins and getting enough electrolytes and amino acids? That really helps. What are your other symptoms, maybe we can help with supplements to get you through.
Avatar f tn When you take it the way you are supposed to it will ameliorate SOME of the withdrawal symptoms and make the withdrawal last a shorter period of time. It also helps with the post-acute withdrawal symptoms as well as blocking the action of any other opiates for a relatively long time. By taking them all at once you have potentially confused your system god only knows how. It is a very strong drug even though you will not feel what it is doing right away. Please don't relapse now.

Avatar m tn My question is, did you taper? Also, exactly how long did your withdrawal symptoms last? I feel like this is lasting forever!! I know that it will get better and I will normal again I would just like to know when?? I will fight this demon, I will keep strong.
1158557 tn?1262725929 Yes, I have experienced lower back pain with withdrawal from morphine. I do experience pain all over my body, however, this pain was different from what I had felt before and it would be relentless for weeks on end. It separated itself from how my normal pain was in many ways. Not to mention it started after I had reduced my daily morphine dosage. Mine also bothered me in my tailbone and then worked itself up my back. Sitting was very uncomfortable at times during these periods.

Avatar f tn Can anyone please give me information on how long the withdrawal symptoms last. I search all over and only see stories of this horrific drug withdrawal. Does anyone know how long I will endure this or does it vary?
Avatar m tn There's no way to tell how long your symptoms will last. It's so different for everyone depending on age, weight, metabolism, how long you've been on opiate therapy - there are just too many variables. I would say your best bet is to stick with the patch for now and not try to change to another medication again. It's going to take time for you to get used to any new med and each time you switch you'll go through some kind of side effects or withdrawal.
