I think I would ask the pharmacist about these reactions, sometimes they are more educated in the long-lasting side-effects in drugs than some doctors. I would also see your GP and discuss this with him/her. 12 months seems a very long time to be getting new symptoms. If after you talk to your GP and pharmacist you still are having this issue, then maybe see a chiropractor, you may have some pinched nerves in the affected areas causing the pain in the areas that are bothering you.

I would never take Levaquin. The side-effects are well documented. They often last for months and are sometimes permanently debilitating. Levaquin is a fluoroqinalone, and Cipro will do the same thing without many of the problems, even though they are quite similar from a chemical standpoint.

I am not a big fan of Levaquin, which has some very serious side effects, however I would also suggest you get an hbcA1c test for diabetes before jumping to conclusions. Crap I just had a long post and lost the whole thing .Levaquin was a life saver for me and really severe kidney and bladder infections . Now I have no clue why they would put you on it unless he thought you had some infection .I will see if I can find any WD uses for it but I don't know of any right off . I would call the doc in the morning and ask what part of wds is it supposed to help with or like pharma said was it a mistake of some kind ?? Let us know what you find out.

Levaquin has some terrible side effects besides tendon rupture. It was my own fault. I read about the side efects but I had a bad infection and insisted on that specific drug. My problems (muscle pain, tenderness, discomfort) lasted six months after I took the medication, but they did go away. Curiosly Cipro, which is of the same class of drugs, doesn't seem to cause any problems.

The drug is a class called fluoroquinalones, and the side effects may include anything from aches and pains for months to tendon rupture. If a fluoroquinalone is prescribed Cipro has far fewer side effects.
