flexibility

Avatar m tn This muscle is present in large predators, like lions and tigers and bears, oh my! It is used to extend the claws and is part of the grasping mechanism in mammals. In humans the muscle is being deselected by evolution, and has disappeared in about 15% of the population. So, lucky you for being in the 85% who have one (in each arm.
Avatar m tn 3 years is a long time for break in Gymnastics. If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar f tn if you are a rugby player i know how rough that sport is Cassie so i am not surprised in the least that you are having arm and shoulder pain and my guess is repetitive motion because generally the heart does not effect the arms and shoulders unless you are a male and in the throws of a major issue that is happening. Again even the pain in the L. side of your face could be from your game...clenching your jaws during the game in anticipation, etc. but......
Avatar m tn I've been a member of my rugby team since I was 8, it fought obesity, anger issues, depression, confidence issues and gave me my first 'proper' friends. It has given me everything, and I've given it everything. I centred my life about bettering myself; working out and running all the time until I was known for my fitness and confidence. i did it all for rugby, for my team.
Avatar m tn But after all these strange symptoms how can no one know whats causing all this? How can all these things just start in a 24 year old athlete and nothing be really wrong? I’ve been reading about people who have thousands a day and the ten or so I get scare me enough, I have a ‘benign’ abnormality in my valve causing some regurgitation that was found on my echo. And now I’m getting strange bouts of vertigo when I sleep, and lightheadedness just about all day.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.

Avatar m tn ve racked up a fair few injurys playing rugby - Ligaments in my left ankle, Ligaments in the back of my left knee, Dislocated left shoulder, back spasms and now have mild sciatica in my left bum cheek. (which i think has something to do with my back spasm, anyways). Although i have had all these injurys it has not stopped me playing and now when i am training etc When training after a run or tackle sometimes i'll get a sharp stabbing pain in my perinium area which is excruciating.
Avatar f tn the main reason for wanting to go back is because the muscle tension in my back is caused by the lack of flexibility in them. since i can't hunch or move my back around, my muscles tense up incredibly and i have a severe amount of pain. and i see the only solution is to bring back the natural flexibility of the spine, because this unnatural solution of surgery clearly hasn't been working.
Avatar n tn 1 unit increase in the short acting is also 1 unit more increase in the long acting. This is perhaps not exactly what you need as your sugars say 6 hours from now are not running high. Also, the premixes are usually used once a day to two times a day (because of the amount of the long acting insulin), most type 1's are on 3 times a day or more therapy which has proven to be most optimal in control. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi, you might want to post in the derm forum as this is for std,s but it would appear that its related to friction from the game.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".

Avatar m tn Any pain is due to inflammationa after injury. In the process of accident if you do not have fracture then you might be having some associated, ligament/tendon/muscle injury. These are also painful and take time in healing. For the correct approach of healing and to have eventless future you should be under the supervision of a Physician. Take care!
Avatar m tn So I have a complicated situation. Basically I had an acl revision with allograft and meniscus allograft transplant done . I've had crazy symptoms since the day I was cleared to weight bear. Not having gone thru this before I thought it was part of rehab. The surgeon who performed told me itmwas part of the process and to this day refuses to accept any responsibility. He says it was my poor rehab. I can't tell you how mad I am with this but anyway.
5112396 tn?1378017983 Ohhhh I love ... used to anyway ... climbing! So fun! Good for you. I'm am seeing a naturopathic doctor tomorrow. Never thought I'd say that, and I'm sceptical. But unending limbo and crazy weight times for next neuro lead to desperate measures. Wel'll see. Since I've had deficiencies in some minerals, and the regular medical community doesn't do a whole lot in this area, this is one thing I'm hoping they will investigate. Happy almost-birthday!!
Avatar n tn The problem is likely due to blood not returning to heart and can be caused by inactivity of the arm muscles and this would lead to swelling. It is not usual that runners carry and squeeze a soft ball. This prevents fluids to be trapped in the tissues. There can be an electrolyte imbalance: When electrolytes are kept in balance it helps prevent swelling in the tissues. Thanks for your question.
Avatar n tn I have always have chubby legs at the back and inside of my thighs, how can I slim these without building big thigh muscles?
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar f tn When I was younger I did a lot of sports and competitions mainly swimming and rugby and I used to get anxiety, which I know is normal, before each competition or match. This usually made me gag or throw up. Since then that's just how it's always been then I started to have the same thing but every morning before school, again very likely to be linked to anxiety.
Avatar f tn I had to stop mine around 30 weeks but that combined with prenatal yoga is splendid! They told me in my birth class that women who swim & do yoga throughout pregnancy have better, faster, easier labors.
6050747 tn?1378954343 Hello there, MSG or monosodium glutamate is used as a flavour inhancer in a variety of foods. Some soups contain MSG as well as Chinese food unless you ask for no MSG. I myself am quite sensitive to MSG and I've been known to get headaches from consuming a product with MSG in it.. Does your son eat any products with MSG in it ? You could check the labels on any food your son eats that may contain MSG. Just an idea.
