insurance

Avatar n tn Hi, Yes the baby can go on his insurance. you dont have to be married. When are you due?
Avatar f tn Hello! So I got a new job and didn't sign up for the vision plan because I have plenty of contacts, so decided to sign up during enrollment in January, but I did sign up for Medica health insurance. Now I have a growth in the corner of my eye. Not on the eyeball but in the way corner next to the nose. It is red, doesn't hurt or itch, is just super annoying because it touches by eye sometimes and feels like some eye boogers and I constantly want to rub it away.
Avatar f tn Welcome, sgbear. I'm sorry you're stuck in an HMO quagmire. You definitely need outside help, and should pursue every avenue to see another neuro. Many of us have seen quite a few of that species, with my total being more than 6 (I've lost count). It's rather like how many neuros does it take to change a light bulb. That depends on the neuro. I finally found one that is knowledgeable, and that made all the difference.
Avatar f tn It is possible you will have more than one surgery, while "orbital decompression" is used to cover the procedures used to correct TED, the surgeries are done in stages. First, if bony decompression is needed (removal of part of the bone forming the eye socket), it is usually done first. The second surgery is to correct double vision if necessary, then the third surgery is to correct eyelid retraction.
Avatar f tn I have Chiari Malformation and I had decompression surgery where they removed the bottom of my skull and the top half of the C1 vertebrae. I also still have chronic migraines and I don’t have vision insurance to go have a full work up at the optometrist. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The “magnification” of the left eye is pretty bothersome. I also have very frequent blurry vision that I can’t clear up by blinking or rubbing my eyes.
Avatar n tn After pressuring them they finally did but as non medically necessary charges. Insurance does not pay these types. Insurance told them they had to submitt it correctly. Well insurance did cover it. They the doctors office had to write off all the extra. They deliberately deceived me and the insurance company and tried to keep all this extra money I had to pay. I won and had to instruct the insurance company how to get their monies back. Don't let them fool ya.
1282384 tn?1271431332 I'm 36 years old and had cataract surgery on my right eye over 6 years ago. Now my left eye is acting up and I do not have any insurance since I got laid off over a year ago and have not been able to find work. I'm concerned about driving since my vision is so distorted in sunlight. I'm wondering how bad will my vision get and are there any options for me to get the surgery done without insurance...like payment plans or something?
Avatar n tn I am a resident of NY and I work in NY too. My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
1359227 tn?1282522148 Has anybody tried Neurontin? Does it work for nerve pain? How long does it take to take effect? My doctor prescribed it for me today...I haven't picked it up yet...I'm hoping it will help..
Avatar f tn I am a little bitter lately. I have medicaid and right now I work(back problems) I am very angry with the way I can't get anywhere because of my insurance. Do you feel the insurance you have or lack of affects the way you are treated and treatment options?
Avatar m tn of course if you filed it on your insurance i am not sure how that would work as far as your company finding out...where i work we are self insured and they would know...have you tried to guit the narcotics on your own? Chloral hydrate is a barbituate and you need to get off that with a doctor's supervision...can u talk to the doctor who prescribed it to you about tapering off...
Avatar n tn I would like to know if the blue filter results in less night vision compared to the Technis? How is the vision better at night with the Technis? Are halos, or ghosting, when looking at point sources of lights (stars/headlights) at night a problem with either of these lenses? The Acrysof IQ seems to suffer more from "glistenings" than does the Technis (if all of the Technis data on it's website is to be believed). That is something of a concern for me as well.
521840 tn?1348840771 Many people call or write me asking how they can find treatment if they do not have insurance or can not pay their deductibles. It is extremely frustrating to need help and not be able to afford it, even if you have insurance. It is sad that many insurance companies do not cover psychological and psychiatric services to the extent that all of their subscribers can access care. Unfortunately, many psychologists can no longer afford to participate with insurance companies or Medicaid/Medicare.
Avatar n tn You have to stay at his job! How long is his shift? I always play games on my phone when I'm bored or do puzzles like crossword or sudoku.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your reply. Is monovision the same blended vision? Does monovision mean a fixed setting in one eye, that would decrease depth perception if the other eye doesn't have the same setting?
233488 tn?1310693103 Don't take your doctor's word that your insurance won't cover the multifocal lens. My insurance paid for it after I explained all the facts to them. The doctors office had only submitted it after I hounded them about it. When they did it went as a non-medically necessary facility charge. When I explained to insurance it was not that. When a cataract is removed a lens is necessary. This marked the cost from $2,000 down to $120. that insurance covered.
Avatar f tn Are you asking about an insurance type of disability plan through work or a gov't plan? My gp takes care of any forms etc. required by my work insurance disability plan, but my neuro said he would assist if I need him to.
Avatar f tn I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision. Just as MD would result in a similar outcome without treatment. I would appreciate input as I put together my appeal. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my question.
Avatar f tn s just been operated on does not sound like a comfortable time or good plan for me at work. How can I function writing e-mails, doing spread sheets and looking at a PC all day? Office air is very dry and lighting is an issue. My eyes get tired and irritated some days now. I can't imagine the transition period being an easy time for me. I need my income and can't take months off of work. Maybe a couple of weeks at a time. Just very nervous and plan to put off surgery for awhile.
Avatar m tn The fact that you have no insurance does not mean you don't need to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Almost all physicians are willing to work with people that want to set up a good faith repayment plan for medical expenses.
